Very nice hotel. Same parking lot to a grocery store and Olive Garden. Friendly staff about 12 minutes to the airport. Same to convention center. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Hotel had a recent remodel so all very newly updated.
Stayed 4 nights while birding in the valley. Having free breakfasts and a kitchenette helped to keep the costs down and helped us eat healthier. Bed was comfortable, room was spacious, couch was good and the separated sink from toilet and shower perfect. Reason for the 4 star was due solely from the cleaning crew. At other Residence Inns the dishwasher was emptied (we ran it at night so it was done when we left in the mornings), but no here. Also, no dish detergent in the room, so we couldn't hand wash anything.
Happy hour, dinner and breakfast all included. The rooms are large with a living room and kitchen. The hotel is great for long stay and allows you to unwind and make this place home. There is a full gym and outdoor pool area if you need to get a workout in, or a place to let the kids play.
I spent two nights in McAllen for business and my Residence Inn was experience was very satisfying. The property is in great shape and very clean. Every person on the staff was friendly and helpful. Could not have been happier with my stay. I did notice that their hot tub is closed until further notice but the pool and workout room were very nice. Kudos to the management of this property. Their staff is excellent.
I stayed for over a week at this hotel on the 3rd floor, hotel is complete remodeled, very nice, new and clean! Friendly staff! Breakfast and happy hour was very good! Great location, very convinient is the supermarket in front of the hotel. I will definitely consider this hotel for my next trip in this area.
Room is nice, hotel overall is good, but the WiFi speed is incredibly slow. .5 Mbps slow. I honestly didn't know WiFi still runs that slow. I assume there is an external throttle placed on bandwidth per room. I would suggest that the bandwidth cap be increased to at least 1 Mbps.
3rd floor remodeled, very nice, new and clean! Friendly staff! Kids enjoyed the pool! Happy hour was good! Great location. Basketball and volleyball court was enjoyable, freat to have another option besides the pool.
This property is getting a much needed facelift ... I always ask to be on higher floors when possible and this visit I was on the first floor next to the outdoor pool - also known as the smoking area - people were outside of my window most of the night and then again early the next morning. I expect that once renovations are complete, this property will be much better.
I stay at Marriott properties nearly every week. I can honestly say this is by far the worst Marriott Property that I have ever stayed. The room are old and dated, the room I was checked in to reeked of smoke. I had to argue with the front desk to get a different room. The furniture in the rooms are torn, soiled and smell. Will not be staying at this property again
Our room the first two nights looked okay other than being a bit outdated but had a musty smell to them. We traveled and came back for our last two nights only to find they upgraded us. We reserved a king room and they put us in two doubles. I'm not sure how they consider that an upgrade! We told them we really wanted the king room we booked, the lady working the desk informed us that they overbooked and offered to put us in a king room that they literally just finished spray painting! Who does that...the fumes would be horrible. The double bed room they offered us reeked of cigarette smoke so there was no way we could stay there. She said this was the only room they had left. We ended up walking across the road to the Drury Suites, this place was great! Clean, modern and excellent customer service. We ended up having to argue with the manager to get our money back for the last two nights. Unfortunately this place gives the Marriott Residence Inn's a bad name!
