This hotel is in a very good location, within a short walking distance of the beach and sea.
Prior to making my reservation I called the hotels reservation centre for details to compare with Expedia. There appeared to be little difference, so I chose to make the booking via Expedia.ca. I booked the deluxe double soundproof room, with air conditioning, sea view (The Level), on the top floor of the hotel. When we checked in we were told that only the first 3 floors were open, 4 & 5 were closed due to low occupancy. Despite still being “winter” the room was quite warm at 24/25 degrees. The air conditioning was not operational and was told that it is turned off until later in the season, so opened the patio doors to cool the room down. The dining room and bar, were also not open after morning breakfast and advised to try other nearby places, that were also closed.
At night, with the room cooled down to 21 degs, the patio doors were closed along with blackout curtains. Despite being a sound proofed room, on the 3rd floor and 50 to 100 mtrs from the road the room was quite noisy with every passing car and the local gulls around the waterfront. The room may be soundproof but the patio doors & seals certainly not. We also had problems with locking the room ‘digital’ safe, only to find out that we had to pay 4 euros per day for a security key to activate the safe. Have never seen this over the many years of travel to hotels. Likewise there was a 5 euro per day charge to use carpark….
