Mount Falcon Estate

I recently purchased a night away for my parents 30th wedding anniversary. They could not sum up enough praise for their stay at Mount Falcon-from the staff, the service, the accommodation, the dining, the hotel itself - they said it was "A1" customer service and absolutely adored the venue, highly recommending it. Thank you Mount Falcon for the extra touch for their anniversary-they were very appreciative.

Enjoyed my stay and will be back to stay with my wife.. One of our 4 ball is going to book the hotel for a 3 night stay with his wife also Great Irish hospitality, food excellent, staff friendly, clean and a great setting. What else can you ask for.

Absolutely fantastic! Although we had originally planned to stay in the Lakeside houses for the duration of our stay, we asked to change to the courtyard as i felt uncomfortable letting the kids out so near the lake, and what a decision it was! My husband and I take the kids on a holiday every year so needless to say we have seen our fair share of sub-par accommodation however the houses in the courtyard are absolutely brilliant. There are both 2 story and 1 story houses in the courtyard and we were in one of the single story house. There was ample room for our 3 children to play, with open spacious rooms. The house had a flawless lush oak interior with very comfortable beds, couches and soft carpets. All kitchen appliances were in perfect condition and so ware the electrical appliances (tv, etc.) I was able to let the kids out to play on the grass in the center of the courtyard all the while watching them from the comfort of the living room window. It is a lovely setting and only a minutes walk through a gorgeous forest path to get the the hotel. We will certainly be returning to the courtyard in future and would recommend it to everyone, especially those with young children.

I am writing this review with the objective of the owners and management of Mount Falcon taking my heartfelt views seriously and trying to resolve some of the points that we found disappointing during our recent visit. A good friend of ours from Bangor recommended that we must pay a visit to the estate and so we booked our stay at Mount Falcon on his recommendation. We made the long journey from Co Down and arrived only to be greeted by in my opinion, 'a skeleton' reception team. I felt the welcome was somewhat cold? We subsequently realised that this must have been a team drafted in for the bank holiday weekend due to the fact that the following morning, the reception team were much more pleasant and had matching uniforms etc. In any case, we checked into our room and needless to say, the facilities in the room were very pleasant and the area quite spacious. On the other hand, the stud walls must been made of a very thin composite given the fact we could hear the television from the adjoining room as clear if it was in our own room. That said, we promised it would be a great weekend and carried on. With it being the Easter weekend, there were copious numbers of children running around for the Easter Hunt and needless to say, there was so much chocolate lying astray. Outside our corridor, the remnants of half an Easter Egg lay on the carpeted floor for most of our stay at which point I felt I should point out to reception if it were possible to send someone to hoover this up as opposed to the chocolate being trampled into the carpet. Bearing in mind, the cleaners had passed this several times during room service. The following morning we ordered continental breakfast in our room and yes, it came right on time. It was however, very poor indeed. There were no knives or napkins on the tray therefore we had to use our spoons to butter the toast. The tea was lukewarm and must have been lying for ages as it was so strong and not drinkable. The coffee was also quite cold. It was basically a very disappointing and poor breakfast and not worthy of the 10 euro room charge. I would have been happy to pay this had the breakfast been acceptable. That evening, we returned to the hotel hoping to have a light evening snack in the bar and totally aghast when we learned that the bar stopped serving food at 5.15 pm. We had been given conflicting information from the reception staff. I cannot comprehend why any hotel would not offer guests a light snack menu at least up until an acceptable hour say 9pm? We subsequently asked at reception if there was a possibility of eating in the restaurant and we were advised that yes, one could order something from the A La Carte Menu. We therefore proceeded to the Kitchen Restaurant only to learn that they have no such thing as an A LA Carte Menu! Only a set menu. We did not feel like having full 3-4 course meal however we were advised that we could in fact order a main course if necessary. We did however have to wait a little for a table. I cannot believe that a hotel of this calibre would not offer more options for their guests? In terms of the hotel itself, it offers a wide variety of activities and has wonderful surroundings etc. I believe that the hotel has become complacent in many respects. Cleanliness is not at its optimum and for want of a better word, a little 'rough around the edges'. Finally, we are extremely disappointed that the owners/management provide no responses to the comments left on tripadvisor by guests which leads me to believe they either do not care or could not be bothered to take the time to respond to any of the reviews. Can I ask you to start doing so as it would show you at least care and possibly want to improve? You have a wonderful product and you could actually make this an outstanding place to stay. Hopefully this review might be different. Take care.

On a last minute trip traveling around the north west of Ireland. Nowhere booked, we ended up in Ballina. We rang Mount Falcon to check availability and there was no answer. As we were in the area, we decided to call in. When we went to the reception the receptionist was on the phone. We waited approx 5 minutes for the phone call to end. When the call ended the girl proceeded to look into her screen without acknowledging our presence or asking if we were okay. At that stage we decided to leave and now have stayed somewhere else in Ballina, where we were not ignored by the receptionist!!

Beautiful old estate. Nice bedroom, reasonably sized. Very quiet, older couples mainly. Fabulous spa treatment. Pity there isn't a designated relaxation area, only the side of the pool which was noisy with families. Good basis for exploring Wild Atlantic Way! We visited Enniscrone Beach & Downpatrick Head. Beautiful restaurant, fabulous views but expensive.

We Stayed at Mount Falcon for two nights over Easter, it was a lovely break but we had a few small hiccups along the way. The estate is beautiful and we tried archery with Jim who was excellent and very entertaining. On our first night we had our complimentary meal that came with our package, it was in the Kitchen Restaurant. The food was absolutely lovely as were the servers. For the second night we weren’t hungry enough for a three course meal so we had asked for a separate menu, which we had been told there was, twice earlier that day/ told there was a bar menu! It was however, the same menu as the first night, we thought that there wasn’t quite enough options for a single main course and had believed there was a bar menu as we had asked a few of the staff members earlier that day. We went into Ballina Town that night instead to Jalan Jalan instead for a lighter bite. The kitchen bar does offer a very good fine dining menu but for an estate like this I would expect there to be a bit more option. We had two breakfasts at the estate, the muesli is beautiful and I would definitely recommend it. However, we didnt feel the full irish and the healthy full irish were quite up to scratch in comparison to some other breakfasts we have had in various estates. The eggs didnt have much of a taste, and the potatoes were quite watery. The bread available at dinner the night before was fantastic and fresh and we thought it was a pity they did not serve this for breakfast. On the second morning I had the pancakes which were perfect. But again little fresh bread to chose from. We visited the spa, were we had pre booked treatments, unfortunately one of the staff was unable to make the full appointment, however the girls that were there really tried to make up for it by extending the length of the other treatments. But it was still a bit disappointing to miss out on part of a treatment that I had been looking forward to. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The spa and leisure centre are very relaxing! But I felt the spa could possibly do with an upgrade to compete with similar establishments. The grounds are beautiful and the furnishings in the main estate building are lovely. The lounge and side rooms are great for relaxing in after dinner. The barman was so friendly and helpful and really knew all about his whiskeys from the area. We stayed in a double deluxe, which I could not fault.

Myself and my partner stayed here for a long weekend and it was just fabulous! From the moment we arrived the reception staff were so friendly and helpful. We even arrived an hour early and they accommodated us to another room. The porter brought our bags to our room straight away he was so helpful! The room was huge and so was the bed! The leisure centre was fab, very clean and helpful staff. We ate in the restaurant one evening, amazing food but quite expensive so we decided to eat out the following evening. We took a walk around the estate the first day and loved it so much we rented bike from the estate the following day to do it again. Ballina town is a 10 minute drive away which was handy for any bits we needed. Overall great stay.

It's especially sunny day and decided to take advantage of the grounds have a swim and a Jacuzzi afterwards went to have lunch how special lovely rooms with roaring fire's and the greeting, aplenty of activities to avail of but had to think about comming back maybe to be robin hood and shoot a bow and arrow,or go out with a bang clay pigeon shooting of course would have to book looking forward to a return 😁😁😁.

This is a beautiful ,peaceful manor house hotel on the banks of the river moy. We had a standard room which was tastefully decorated in calm tones. Bed was huge and very comfy . Leisure center is great worth a look, sauna ,,stem room and Jacuzzi. Breakfast was fantastic . Staff were great. Definitely somewhere I will return to.
