Silver Beach is around a 40 minute drive from the airport and sits on its own beach over-looking the Indian Ocean. We arrived early in the morning and our AI started straight away, even though our room wasn't ready until 1pm. Our room, like the rest of the hotel, was rustic, cosy, large and clean providing toiletries and clean towels every day. It was overlooking the beautiful gardens which is a short walk to the main building where you will find the dining room, bar and access to the beach and the best wifi. The food was lush! Freshly cooked and plentiful! The chefs are on hand to cook freshly cooked omelettes, crepes and fried eggs in the morning, and pasta and stir-fries, fish and meat at lunch and dinner. Three times a week is a set menu dinner with a choice of starters and mains with endless wine, served by the most amazing staff we have ever encountered. There is entertainment every night that varies from singers, guitar playing trios to traditional Mauritian dancing. The bar offers fab cocktails, local spirits (the rum is awesome), teas and coffees as well as tea and cake in the afternoon. There is a short walk through a lawned area to the beautiful beach offering free sun-loungers, wind-shields and parasols. Watersports such as pedalos and kayaks are free to use and you can have free beach towels each day too. It's worth knowing that August is not their summer so it tends to be quite windy. You will encounter a few dogs around but they weren't an issue and definitely not viscous. You'll have more of a problem with the exotic birds (watch out when eating your tea and cake). This holiday was to celebrate our silver wedding, reunion with our travelling daughter and her boyfriend and then their engagement on the beach and the staff at the hotel made it so special! Our only 'gripe?' There needs to be toilets nearer the beach. So here's the soppy bit! This was one of the best holidays we've had. It's up there with our honeymoon in the Maldives 25 years ago. It's everything we wanted, plus more. We can't big-up the staff enough, they are so hard working, blooming amazing! Everything was so fab we are looking at going for Christmas next year. Thank you Silver Beach, it was a blast!

Rooms are well prepared, Clean, spotless, all staff and i do mean all staff are well trained. Restaurant Food Excellent wine choice even better. Now over to the bar where the headman of the night will not only look after you but all ythe other little lambs sat at the Bar till closing. Which is around 1201 so your up early for the breakfast of your choice.

Stayed here for 3 nights during our 3 week tour of Mauritius. It was an opportunity for us to explore the east coast and this was one of the cheapest all inclusive hotels in the area. First impressions were that I walked into a time warp. The hotel appearance is dated although clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Whilst the all inclusive drinks menu selection was good (local beer, spirits and cocktails) The all inclusive food menu felt limited but attribute this to the low number of guests at the hotel. That said, Chef was also prepared to cook dishes of choice should nothing be appealing. Evening dinner was a mixture of buffet and set meals depending on the day and the local entertainment was quite tasteful. The rooms were tidy and clean, and a decent size for families. Soft drinks from the fridge were part of the all inclusive deal too. Wifi within the rooms would be a worthy improvement. The east coast during Mauritius' winter months i found to be very windy, therefore we couldn't enjoy the outside as much ( no fault of the hotel and not represented in the score).

I recently stayed here with my husband for a week. Overall it was fine - the rooms were big enough but quite tired looking. We were lucky enough to have a sea view room though and the view was absolutely beautiful. I personally didn't really enjoy the food all that much. I'll be honest and say that we don't usually tend to do all inclusive holidays and I so I guess I was always going to feel a little restricted because it makes a big difference to not being able to choose each night where to go. The buffets were fine but I'll admit I didn't like the set menus as it felt so restrictive to literally have no other choice at all, not even somewhere next door or down the road. I guess it's to be expected from a small hotel. I also had a stomach upset which I believe was from the soft drink machine where I was drinking diet coke as it cleared as soon as I switched to only fruit juice. The beach area was lovely and such a perfect location. We personally didn't use the pool, it is very small. Wifi was also a bit disappointing. I know you don't go on holiday to sit on your phone all the time but in 2017 it's still quite expected to have a decent connection in your room but it was only available in the games room and by the pool.

Booked through Mercury Holidays and flew with Emirates. We arrived at 7pm got checked in quickly and was give the garden rooms which was spacious but very tiring looking. The next morning after breakfast we decided to unpack and my sister noticed that money has gone from her handbag (we did not expect a cleaner to clean our room as we only just arrived late last night). Then my dad decided to check his money in the SAFE and all £20 notes have been stolen that's £200 taken in total. We went straight to reception and the guy was no help accusing my sister and dad of misplacing their monies and won't even ring the police when asked. They ended up going to the local police station themselves by taxi and the policeman informed them that the hotel receptionist should of called the tourist police which are based in Belle Mare. The tourist police arrived at the hotel and inspected my parents room and found no damage to the door or safe, in my opinion it was an inside job as a thief from outside would of taken all the money not just part of it. We asked our Mercury Holidays rep if we could move hotels as we felt unsafe and paranoid but unfortunately the hotel wouldn't refund us so we had to stay or payout again. The food is poor with it being pretty much the same everyday and they took their time in replenishing the food as if they didn't want to give it to us. Forget about the wifi connection it was pointless. Do not go to this hotel, if you have already booked then keep all your valuables with you at all times and thats including phones, tablets etc.

We stayed here for 6 nights after an amazing time in south africa. We were delayed 3hrs so not a great start. When we arrived we were cheked in quickly as it was about 11pm shown to our room which wasnt gr8 it is very basic but clean what more can you ask for. We were left some fruit and cake in our room which was nice as we missed dinner as a result of being late we went down to the bar to get a drink bar staff very friendly. This place is quite small lovely beach although weather was not good for 2 days it constantly rained and was wraped in a blanket and there was nothing to do but cant help the weather jus this kind of place is for laying on the beach drinking cocktails food was good. This place has not very many english guests mainly indian and german. I think if weather was a little better wudnt have had lil negatives nothing major but wudnt return to this particular hotel.

What can i say? This was our second consecutive visit to Mauritius and it was like the first time "top draw"..... This place is truly a sanctuary of bliss and utter happiness. We never go to the same place twice but are already in the process of planning a third visit for our anniversary/birthday. Go here with an open mind and be prepared to be blown away. We met some wonderful folks along the way and the quaintness of Silver Beach makes it a gem of Mauritius. The staff are attentive to all your needs and nothing is ever a burden. There are instances where they are mistreated and looked down upon , but that never gets the better of them .... They are cool, collective and have first rate customer service skills. Led by Kaviraj in the dining room.... Wow..What an asset. The food choices are endless and the drinks are free flowing....The varied theme nights are always a treat and remember as should be the norm worldwide, long pants and close out shoes are required for dinner. No harm in wearing a collared shirt and a pair of long trousers is there? It's like the people feel offended to "dress appropriately” now. Call me old-fashioned but there must be a degree of respect when it comes to dining. The beach is majestic and don't mind the "winter” months as they call it. Everyday provided warmth and a setting so tranquil it left you in a state of total relaxation. We did the Flacque Market one day. Very much worth it and so much to see and buy. It was a very cosmopolitan setting yet great to see the locals out in force supporting their own. Mauritians truth be told, are perhaps the friendliest persons in the world and that's coming from an island person.. We did Casella as well and that trip was epic. Walking with the lions was the highlight of it and having experienced it firsthand, nothing about it was staged. The safari ride was remarkable as well and the overall property tour. There is an array of animals inclusive of Ostrich, Zebras, Monkeys, Giraffes, Rhinos etc. This is worth every penny spent towards it. We hired a car through the Front Desk and their recommendations are on point. We did get lost on the way back, but the hospitable nature of the folks and their passion for helping led us back to Silver Beach. It was an experience to behold. Again as mentioned, go here and trust me you will not regret it. We stayed on the garden view and as in previous reviews a room is a room. Modern day travellers may have their reservations about it but maybe simplicity is the best way to live. Every single member of staff exhibits true dedication and customer service. Notable mentions as always include: Kaviraj (Restaurant), Kavi (BBar man),Tivesh, Ziad, Lasiona, Jeyson, Harwez, Soobash,Sheik .

The medium of communication I had was through e-mail and phone. Staff were highly professional and friendly. They had an exceptional time at Silver Beach. The hotel is romantic, has a perfect view and food is fantastic. The staff is highly professional, efficient, warm and polite, especially Sailen, one of the waiters. The couple will surely visit that hotel again.

We stayed for 10 days a very picturesque drive along the coast road from the airport. The booking in was quick and efficient and the rooms well appointed. We felt the service at silver beach was fantastic nothing was too much trouble and was very quick and efficient. The animation team was good with a variety of acts. The pool is small but clean. Overall a great holiday with a selection of places to visit.

We had great weather during June visit. Hotel Silver Beach is nice small hotel located on the beautiful beach. Food is good and rooms are clean. Staff at restaurant are excellent and very cooperative. Major sightseeing is nearby. Good place to relax. If you want sea view select in advance. View is good but rooms are much smaller then garden view rooms. We preferred gardens view. Morning see beautiful birds right in the front of your room. Do bring birds feed you will enjoy.
