Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa5.0 out of 5.0

We stayed at Maradiva on our honeymoon and would recommend to anyone else looking for a luxurious, relaxing holiday. The villas are spacious and allow enough room for private sunbathing by your pool - the pool is unheated but refreshing for a dip on a hot day. The in-room dining option means that you don't have to venture out at all if you don't want to - although our experience of all the restaurants was good. The Teppanaki bar was a little lacking in atmosphere, but the other restaurants were great, especially Cilantro. We enjoyed several spa treatments during our stay and found the spa facilities to be a high standard - and almost deserted! Unfortunately on our last day there were also some children in the spa pool which made it a bit noisy - my only complaint would be that I don't think children should be allowed in a spa area, as it limits the relaxation of other guests! The beach is beautiful and from a walk along the shoreline, I think this is the best hotel in the Flic-en-Flac area.
My husband and I had the most amazing honeymoon staying at Maradiva! The staff are incredibly attentive and happy to sort out anything asked of them. The hotel is beautiful and so well looked after. We made good use of the heated spa pool and were the only ones in there most of the time! The food is delicious and can be enjoyed whilst looking at stunning views of the beach. The pool bar offers amazing cocktails in coconuts and we enjoyed visiting the bar in the evening for drinks and aperitifs. Joseph made incredible fruit mojitos and was always so friendly and hardworking. The villas themselves were so clean and staying in them was paradise. The Japanese restaurant is well worth a visit, we really enjoyed watching the food being made in front of us and it was incredibly tasty! All round the perfect honeymoon, or even any holiday, destination! I wish we were going back soon!

I took my boys ages 15 and 17 over to Mauritius while in Cape Town prior to flying to Johannesburg for a family safari. It was a 4.5 hour direct flight from Cape Town. The Maradiva Villas is a beautiful resort on the ocean. We had a stunning villa with private dip pool and a slight beach view. The Villas are private and have an outdoor living space as well. They are beautifully decorated and have outdoor showers as well. The service staff at the Villas was fantastic. Every afternoon there was an afternoon "treat" of pastries or chocolates left in the villa. We had the "half board" meal plan which was a great choice as food is expensive. A soft drink from any of the restaurants or the bar fridge will set you back about $6.00 US (they are mini size) bottles. Half board does NOT include any soft drinks other than coffee or tea and juices at breakfast. If you want a soft drink, or water (which is mostly always bottled) you will pay for it. The resort has very friendly staff in all service areas. The fellows at the beach were always so kind and helpful. The food at the specialty restaurants was great. My boys enjoyed the Japanese restaurant the most. Make reservations at both places as they are usually booked in advance. The beach was nice, but be sure to pack water shoes because of the rocks and sea urchins. My teen boys enjoyed the beach and water skiing which was included in our stay package. We were there for 6 nights.
It was an excellent 6 days 5 nites stay at maradiva. Beautiful scenic hotel with fantastic natural gardens. The rooms were tastefully designed, made it an excellent place for relaxation. Easy access to the beach. One of the best spas in the world. The staffs and people made our stay fantastic. The restaurant chefs prepared special dishes on requests. Chefs and staffs at Japanese and Cilantro were excellent Special people to thank: Yogna at reception Vishal at coast2coast Shiva valadan at boat house Avi and Oliver at the beach Sneha and Razia at Spa Mike for excellent housekeeping Sanjay--taxi driver at hotel...he was so informative and knew how to narrate the stories of the cities. WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN.
We spent a relaxing week with a delightful villa and pool with every facilities and close access to a really lovely white sand beach, The staff of the hotel were friendly and efficient, room service was excellent and the expeditions of the island were most informative and gave a real idea of this beautiful island. Our driver and tour guide Ajay could not be more helpful and informative. One of the most memorable short breaks we have ever experienced.
Been back for two weeks and we can't stop thinking of our holiday. I don't ever write a review but I need to share our experience with you. From the moment we arrived early morning nothing was too much trouble from the reception team. Our room was ready and waiting (I expected to wait till afternoon) The room was so clean and we had fruit & biscuits waiting for us (lovely little touch) We emailed the hotel in advance to make them aware that our son has a severe nut allergy, I was amazed throughout our stay every staff member in the restaurants knew our son had this allergy. I am so used to saying does this contain nuts and is this nut free. The staff honestly told me what was not suitable for our son before I even mentioned it. I have never felt so relaxed and comfortable about my son eating his meals and even at breakfast the staff would have his cereal ready for him the next day!!!!!!!!!!! (That massive thank you goes to Ourmesh mainly for making sure Lewis had the correct breakfast and making him his favorite drink!!!!!!!! You are so thoughtful) Honestly this hotel should get a medal for the care and attention they gave us as a family. My son didn't have a single reaction. Most evenings we were looked after by Kevish in the main restaurant and he was just outstanding, that man can multi task!!!!. Lunchtimes we met Shavinah and she truly was so lovely & sweet, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was so clean everywhere and we felt like this was our second home. All the staff were friendly and knew our names. On the beach all our needs were looked after from drinks to towels and Olivier, Wessley & Precilla were just a fantastic team, the standards throughout our stay did not change at all. Always there with a smile morning till night. Lewis made two lovely friends in the bar, who encouraged Lewis to play the piano and had time to spend with a 13 year old, normally bar staff and managers are too busy to spend time with families but everyday they came out of there way to say hi to us and talk to Lewis, Massive thank you from us all to the lovely Lovy & Yogesh. We also had the pleasure of spending time with the gym guys who would encourage us in the gym and played table tennis with our son. With our son being 13 it was so nice for the boys to spend time with him as gyms are normally strictly for 16 and above. You Totally made our holiday boys so Big Thank you to Christian & Bryan. Back to our room - being a family of three we always had three clean beach towels, three clean bath towels and three clean hand towels every day. Even the day we left we got clean towels, now that is attention to detail at his best, House keeping must be very busy!!!!!!!!!!!! The lady who looked after us during our stay was Leena and honestly we never needed to ask for anything, it was always there. The pool was clean and the beach was paradise, what more could you want for a holiday. We will definitely return and again all staff were friendly & helpful, I highly recommend this hotel for couples or families and especially if a family member has a nut allergy, Again a big thank you for keeping my son safe and going out of your way to make us all feel like family. Can't wait to return.
We spent 9 days in this beautiful hotel. We booked a villa on the beach and we really loved it. The staff is very friendly, especially Krishna at the reception, Priscilla housekeeping, Avi at the beach and others... Food at the hotel is amazing and the breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever seen. The spa and its swimming pool is amazing and very relaxing. There are a lot of activities to do not far from the hotel, concierge was very helpful. We will certainly come again very soon ! Mauritius is a beautiful island.
We stayed at the Maradiva in August for one week and unfortunately we were very disappointed. The villa that we had paid for opposite the beach looked very tired and clearly needed an upgrade. The swimming pool had a light hanging out in the water which could have been dangerous for my kids, the wooden floor boards had holes in them and to make things worse there were lots of mosquito's in the villa. Also the private pool was not heated which defeated the whole purpose - in winter they should have made that point clear when we booked the hotel! When we complained the lady at the reception was rude and unhelpful! However, the other staff did take up the complaint seriously and tried to resolve the issues quickly. The guest services manager was very kind and helpful but we did not receive any form of an apology from their management for the inconvenience caused. We often stay in premium style villa accommodations especially in the Maldives and I guess this was what they were trying to create but have seriously fallen short. We really enjoyed Mauritius and found the people to be very friendly and easy going but we would certainly never go back to this hotel. We even filled in their endless feedback form (is simply a paper exercise) since did not get any reply. I can only assume the management is very poor at this hotel or they make so much money that they don't need repeat business!
We had a seven day stay with my wife and a great time overall. Spacious villas with private pool and patio, relaxing "green" environment, excellent food in Coast2coast and Teppanyaki Japanese restaurants, but most of all professional, intimate and courteous staff, Kamal (the Resort Manager) Krishna, Kevic and many others, whose names - however special people they were, unfortunately have not been embedded in our memories.
