Very nice hotel. We spent 10 days there. The family rooms are large and modern and include a second bedroom for the kids. The restaurants are good with a variety of restaurants to choose from. Most of the restaurants are on the beach and have a view of the ocean. The swimming pools are heated which makes a very big difference during the winter / spring months. The kids club is great and the staff are attentive. Generally the service is really good and all the hotel staff go out of their way to make your stay special. We went on the all inclusive option which I would recommend as the menu prices are outrageous as has become general practice on the island over the last 10 years. The all inclusive includes most food and local drinks. The drinks are however limited and for some inexplicable reason the mini bar is not included. The slight “aggravations” aside a great holiday experience.
Wonderful hotel and staff, a special mention to Nitin the Sugarcane Bar Manager, nothing was too much trouble for him and he made us feel very welcome. Real friendly and warm person, real asset to the hotel.
We selected Ocean View Deluxe Room which had such a beautiful view which can't be described in words. Staff is superb and anything you require is just a phone call away. Food is beyond words as this is 100/100 on a scale! There was simply no reason to complain but AC, TV and warm/cold water were below average. The pros are so good that the overall experience is heavenly but it can be 5/5!
We arrived late on Sunday evening at around 10pm and were welcomed by Elsa from reception and Hans who were both so welcoming and polite. Hans, together with the deputy Resort Manager, decided to arrange complimentary room service that evening because we missed dinner which was a touch of class. During the week we were welcomed and greeted by the most kind, polite and friendly staff throughout the resort. On Tuesday evening, we attended a delightful cocktail party on Sugar Island hosted by Kevin Ritoo and the Resort Manager, Manish Ahluwalia. Manish is a charming, charismatic gentleman who made us laugh and feel at home. He is an extremely well-travelled man who could entertain Royalty. He truly is a world class Resort Manager. Wednesday evening was the night I proposed on Sugar Island. From the private chef from India, to Vipin, to Niko, to Hans, to Robert, to Kevin and everyone else. Vipin paid extra attention and ensured our night was one to remember. Sam from the Sugar Cane bar ensured that we were sufficiently hydrated and entertained that evening and throughout the week. A truly classy man! On Thursday evening, Kevin Ritoo hosted us on a beautiful sunset cruise. Kevin stopped at nothing to ensure that we had the best week of our lives. The rest of the week was pure bliss. We enjoyed every single second of every day. I can honestly say that it was undoubtedly the best week of our lives and we will most certainly be back. We are seasoned travellers and have simply never experienced anything like this - truly exceptional! Best wishes, Gregg & Chanelle
All of it was good - a little more proactive response to maintenance issues may be considered but it was not a major issue. My suggestion would be to do a complete maintenance check on every room at least one a month and a minor check on a weekly basis.Staff were all very friendly and accommodation right through our stay.

As a seasoned business traveller with about 200 nights in about 20 IHG hotels over the past 3 years, I have come into contact with a lot of hotel employees. I am happy to declare that the staff at the Intercontinental Mauritius are undoubtedly THE BEST I have ever experienced. Too many names to mention but in particular Dev the guest services manager and Ben at the Resort Assistant Manager desk. Unbelievable commitment to customer care. This extends to everyrone at the hotel from Reception to Housekeeping and all the restaurant, bar, pool staff etc. My extreme thanks for a truly unforgettable experience at the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Great food, great drinks, plenty to do, great pools. The welcome drinks and food were a wonderful little experience that topped the lot off. Best hotel experience of my life. The staff were a credit to themselves, IHG and also to Mauritius Perfect.
Our stay started with a warm welcome and the overall friendliness of all the staff accompanied us every day through wonderful two weeks until saying good-bye. The InterContinental is really a place to feel good and to relax in a pleasant environment.
An absolute great experience, Facilities are well kept, staff is friendly and the food and variety more than enough and delicious. The setting is complimented by a small man made island in front of the hotel which offers a unique romatic view of the sun setting. The water amenities are sufficient, the boats can do with better attention to rigging and setup.
