Being one who prefers boutique hotels to large hotels mainly due to the service and detail level, we decided to visit Constance Belle Mare to try out the famed hospitality of Mauritius during our first visit there. Constance did not disappoint. The staff were great and helpful, room was literally 20 feet away from the sand, the food in the restaurants never disappointed and neither did the room service which was laid out meticulously. The breakfast spread was extensive and catered for all including kids. Unfortunately we only had 5 nights there. I will definitely return. Thank you Royvenna and the team at the reception and all those who we met.

My husband and I went to Mauritius for our honeymoon. In our search for a resort, we came upon Constance Belle Mare Plage and booked it right away. This is a decision we did not regret. The resort is stunning. I love that it incorporates so much island culture and it is not overly modernized. The different pools were amazing and the beach was wonderful. The food was incredibly delicious. I loved that the buffet was not always the same and changed a lot. We never got tired of the food. I still miss the food from the resort. The Blue Penny Cellar has some of the best food we have ever ate in our entire lives and we are foodies. The service was spectacular. Every one we encountered was so pleasant and friendly - from those that serviced our rooms, to the service on the beach, to the front desk, to the servers in the restaurant. We were wowed at all chances and loved the staff. Special mention to our sommelier in the Blue Penny Cellar and our night attendant for our room - they were incredible and really made our trip. Our room was amazing - we had a beach front suite - and the view was great. We really enjoyed the room and we had a great stay here. I loved that even though the resort was busy, you never really felt it. We always had our pick at the beach and never felt overwhelmed by people. Even at breakfast or dinner, it wasn't overwhelming or swarming with people. We had an amazing honeymoon here and it was heavenly. I would highly recommend it to all. Our only complaints were that the resort was very pricey, but so is the entire island, and there wasn't much to do when it rained. They also charged extra for room service so when it rained, we had no choice. Otherwise, it was perfection. We got the half board package and it was perfect - we didn't think the all inclusive was worth it for us and we are glad we went the way we did. We only spent $1000 outside of our half board package. I cannot wait to return here one day and I know for a fact that we will return. I cannot thank Constance enough for giving us memories of a lifetime and the best honeymoon ever.

The staffs did all things possible to make our family stay really memorable. We were upgraded to private villas..with an amazing butler, Koylash. Special thanks goes to Kailash, Preetam, Krishna and to each and every person contributing to our wonderful stay. Kbeegoo

We stayed in a two bedroom villa and our stay was simply amazing. Our villa master was very attentive to details and oh so caring, taking care of the turn down service when we went dining at La Citronelle. As always food were excellent, great variety of food in the restaurant. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We will come back soon.

Stay at this hotel every year. Been all round island and we find this hotel to be the best. The golf is superb! The food is excellent and good choice where to eat. The hotel staff treat you as family What else can I say, just counting days to return this October. Thank you Constance Barbara and Rodney

We first visited Belle Mare Plage in 2004 for our honeymoon and had a really wonderful time. We returned this December with our 2 daughters, 9 and 11 and we had a truly magical week in this beautiful hotel. It is hard not to keep saying "beautiful" because everything really was beautiful - the beach, the hotel, the villa, the restaurants, the weather. The staff at Belle Mare are charming, friendly and seem to want to do anything they can to give ensure that you have a wonderful time - the service was exceptional - just as we had experienced 13 years ago. We were particularly well looked after by Kavita (our "Villamaster"), Rutna who looked after us at breakfast in the Citronella restaurant, Deepak, Atish and Kevin at the Lakaze beach restaurant, Emmanuel at the Deer Hunter. We had a private villa with pool which was worth every penny - it was just as it it shown in the photos on the hotel's website- if anything, a little bigger than it looked on the website, and stylishly furnished - lovely pool, just big enough for the 4 of us to splash around. We went for the all inclusive package and were very pleased to find that it really was (almost!) all inclusive - the only things we had to pay for when we were there were spa treatments and a dinner "Special" - it was easy to decipher what was included and what wasn't so we didn't end up with a nasty surprise when settling the bill on the last day. It was a wonderful escape from the UK weather and we would like to return as soon as possible! We thoroughly recommend this lovely island and this hotel to couples, families, of all ages.

We went in with very high expectations after seeing the reviews here but were very disappointed. Check in took 30 mins+ (when were were the only ppl checking in!), room had a leaking mini bar causing water to collect on the floor, no room service menu in the room (took them 40 mins to find one). Lights in the room had a constant headache-inducing flicker. Found the staff unfriendly - right from the check in crew to restaurant staff. Kids club facilities are great but once again the staff were cold. We stayed at two other properties in Mauritius during our trip and this resort was by far the worst of the three. Definitely not worth the $$$ in my view.

Great place to relax, caring staff attentive to details, variety of food, well equipped gym and spa, the cold water pool is a must, just need to dare for it. Beach is clean anf very safe. Thanks to the team, particularly Guito the Villa Manager. Keep it up. Vish Aukhojee

I am a regular client of the Belle Mare Plage hotel and I must say that I have always been satisfied with the service received. There rooms are really cozy and warm especially the villas. The staff are always ready to help and are very friendly. I was particularly very impressed by the gym and the facilities offered by the spa. The hamam, sauna and cold bath are amazing as they allow people to relax after a good gym session. What was appreciated the most was that the food served there. There is a large variety of food provided especially on New Year’s eve.

Sorry for the late review posting! Myself with my wife were on honeymoon trip from 3rd to 10th Dec, 2017. We found this resort really upto the mark! Positives: 1. During the our whole stay, we found the resort so luxurious with all amenities. 2. Almost 1 km long beach touching the resort campus adds more beauty into resort. 3. Room service, staff behavior and overall hospitality is really up to the mark. 4. Resort have almost 7 restaurants with uncountable varieties. But has very few choices for pure veg people though. 5. Amenities/Facilities - You name one and it will be there. Golf facility is an added advantage. 6. Food - Though less options for pure vegetarians, we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Negatives: 1. Illumination in rooms can be improved. 2. Toilet in room must have health faucet. 3. Housekeeping was really upto the mark but daily one or two mosquitoes were visible in the room. 4. Very few options for pure veg. people. Resort management must add few pure veg dishes on the chart of all the restaurants. 5. Table tennis was kept outside, could not play satisfactorily due to wind. Special mentions: 1. We were present in the prize distribution ceremony of the golf tournament and amazed by seeing the party arrangements, music, fire works and what not. 2. Chef Veer from La Citrannele was outstanding in his efforts to serve us as many pure veg items as he could. 3. We doubted that same item (sambhar) was served in a dinner and next day breakfast. Inquired with head chef and got the right response. Room tip: Most of the rooms are having the sea view. But be careful with travel agent while booking. MMT had confirmed us the sea view room but the room which we got was not perfectly sea view, but having swimming pool between the sea shore and our room, which was making the sea view a bit far from the room. Overall, really a nice resort to stay.
