If we would have known that the hotel was under construction, we would have booked somewhere else. Granted, the carpeting and paint did need updating and I understand that this needs to happen at some point, I just wish it wouldn’t have been going on during our stay. The hotel also tacks on a lot of extra charges, like a $30 per day shuttle charge, for a shuttle that we never used. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable though and the pool area is beautiful.

To start off, as soon as we arrived we pulled in to park to find out they only offered valet parking meaning we would have to pay irregardless for it due to the construction going on. We then come to find the construction going on inside the hotel was not disclosed to us prior to making the reservation. It was not a relaxing vacation by far, the noise inside and out of the hotel made it impossible to relax at the pool and beach with the sound of jack hammers going constantly. We had just got engaged and this was not the ideal type of celebration either of us had anticipated. The elevators took forever due to the construction, the door in the bathroom would not close properly, the safe in the room did not even work and the beds were the most uncomfortable we've ever had. It was disappointing especially since we've been loyal to Westin for years. Honestly, I can't wait to get home to hopefully be able to relax before heading back to work which is not the way a milestone vacation should end.

Westin is under renovation, I wish I knew this before I got there, there is banging and grinding sounds all day near the pools and above my room all day. It’s hard to relax when you feel like you’re in a construction site. The spa is closed for renovation, entrance lobby is temporary placed, there’s boarded up areas which makes you walk long ways around the hotel. Property is very tight and cramped at pool areas. I was told that renovation will be done by December 2020 so probably will not return until it’s done. Hotel has no self parking, valet only. On the upside the hotel is right next to Whaler’s Village which is convenient to restaurants and shopping. Beach is right outside. Room was spacious with balcony, no tub shower only, lots of drawer spaces and big TV screen. Good in room amenities, water, towels, coffee maker, small refrigerator. Hotel is family friendly with kid pools. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Hi lite is catching sunsets from pool area.

6 th time staying here over the last 5 years. Normally a fantastic experience. Unfortunately this time there was major construction both in one whole tower and also they were building a parking garage. The entire entrance has been moved temporarily. You are now forced to Valet park (previously able to self park as well). However they did not mention the fact they are now charging $30.00 a day to park until you get your bill upon check out. Previously if there was no self-parking available they gave you complimentary valet. I am ok with paying to park, just make sure it is clear at the beginning it is not free due to the construction. Also it was down to just one elevator bank for the hotel from the lobby which ended up causing a lot of backups to get to your room and blocked the hallway with people when trying to get past. We ended up just using the stairs. For some people this may not be as easy. Our room was a golf/mountain view and unfortunately the construction made it pretty uncomfortable to use during the day. The balcony was also uncomfortable due to the noise during the day. The staff were not as friendly either as previous years and i believe it may be due to the stress of construction and guests frustration with it. It is normally a very nice hotel with great staff. I imagine it will be again after construction is wrapped up. Just make sure that is done prior to booking. Unfortunately, we payed the normal price for a sub-par experience.

The resort is beautiful despite the construction going on. Staff was very friendly.

Major construction going on. Wait until they are finished to go.

Spent a week here. Great hotel on beach. Great location. Close walk to blackrock for snorkeling or cliff diving. Ate & shopped everyday next door at Whalers Village. Used free shuttle to shopping and restaurants in Lāhainā. Booked us a catamaran/snorkel tour & they pick you up on beach right in front of hotel. So fun saw dolphins and swam with turtles at Honolua Bay. Loved the Lu’au on site. Everyone went out of way to to meet requests. We wanted a king bed and only had two double. They were able to get us into another room a day latter. Had such a great time. Definitely go back here if ever go back to Maui.

Booked this hotel a year in advance and when we got there, we were put directly above the construction site along with being told the rooms only hold 1 king bed or 2 doubles; definitely does not work for families. In addition, the elevators only run from 7am to 10pm, so if you need them after hours you have to walk the stairs.

Beautiful views and right on the beach! Nice hotel and rooms!

Only is was the construction that woke you up every morning and the fire alarms the went of 2 of the nights during our stay

Perfect location. Specify at check in if you want a king bed or two fulls

The location is good w/in walking distance to black rock beach. Beach by hotel was calm and you could wander not too far to catch some body surfing. The pool was decent and pool service was good. The staff was friendly. The halls and carpets were pretty warn. An elevator was down while we were there so everyone used the stairs. It was little things like that I would not say 4 stars. If given the choice I'd take the Sheraton at black rock beach even if it was a little more. Shuttle service was good you don't need a car if you stay in that area with the free service. There were plenty of activities available right there, jet ski, parasailing, snorkeling and sunset cruises. The Whalers Village was touristy but there are decent shops and restaurants there just make a reservation in advance to eat before 8.

This place looks great for a family trip and kids...NOT for a honeymoon or adult trip. Felt like a total kiddy place...vey commercially and not resort like. We ended up really being unhappy and wanted to leave a day early to go somewhere that would suit us..the hotel mgr wouldn’t let us out of our charges for one night. We left anyways. Not a place to go if you want sophistication, relaxation or zen. If you have kids ages 0-12 probably fantastic.

Great location on beach but rooms should be updated for the price. Staff was excellent- kids loved slides at pool. Parking and resort fees are ridiculous though - 30/day for each. I thought it was 20.

Great resort, pools are amazing and great location for families. The only negative is I wish they had a laundry facility. We took a trip to Hana and got really muddy.
