The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua

Customer service was top notch, felt like a home away from home. Not too crowded like the hotels in Kaanapali

My fiancé celebrated the night before our wedding at the Ritz Kapalua, and we spent the first night of our honeymoon here. The hotel did nothing to recognize our wedding, we reserved a town card with guest services to transfer my fiancé to the wedding venue (and have email confirmations proving it), and my fiancé and her bridesmaids had to take the local shuttle (as the towncar was unavailable, even after 3-4 email confirmations). The hotel lost power the morning of the wedding, over a light rain shower (thank god our wedding was in the afternoon and they recovered the power to get my fiancé ready). Upon arriving the night of our wedding, the Ritz Carlton did NOTHING in our room to celebrate the event! NOTHING. We will not be back to this hotel and I would never recommend this location to anyone for a special event. We commonly stay at the Four Reasons, Rosewood and Ritz hotels and this is by far the worst experience ever.

The hotel was beautiful, well kept, and located near everything you can think of. You can walk to the beach right outside the property (connected), there are stores nearby, and there's even a shuttle (which you pay for as part of the resort fee). The staff was always friendly and accommodating. It was just a beautiful hotel in beautiful Maui!

This was our first stay at this property, so my expectations were high at the onset. If I could give a 4.5 rating I would, because '4' is a little low, and '5' is a little generous. The location was beautiful and quiet, but remote. The staff were friendly and welcoming, with one unfortunate exception. The property was pleasing, but a little scruffy around the edges. We liked that it was not too crowded and that the staff were informative, friendly and courteous. We liked the property walkways, and especially that it was conveniently located right on the coastal walking trail. The pool is gorgeous, large and accomodating for all the guests. The restaurants are well-maintained and the food is delicous. We could see wear and tear on the hallway trim and furnishings, and the room furnishings. There was no fan in the bath. Windy at the property location. We had an unpleasant experience at the Burger Shack property restaurant, next to the beach. Unfortunately our server Jose was neither friendly nor welcoming, ignored my questions, and asked us to close the bill quickly as they were closing soon ( this is at 3:30, and the restaurant closes at 5). I reported my experience to the manager who took my name and room number and promised a follow up with me. We felt that Jose did not treat us well because we are a same sex couple. This was really unfortunate, but the rest of our experience was very good.

The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating.

For $1500/night, it certainly could have been better, but it's still a beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. Next time we'll stay down the road at the truly exceptional Montage.

we had a great time, we came to celebrate my wife birthday, and from the moment we arrived we had a very pleasant experience, the grounds are beautiful

One of my favorite places to hide and be pampered!

The service was great, super clean, nice rooms, beautiful pools with a nice view

Awesome place. Pictures just don't do it justice. My only gripe is the food and drinks are very expensive but it is the Ritz.

Wonderful staff. Look forward to another stay soon!

Dreamy resort in a beautiful, and clean area on Maui. Away from the city, makes perfect place for star gazing at night. The staff was wonderful.

Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Hotel well maintained. Easy access to beach. Locations secluded yet not too far from other Island amenities & activities

Breathtaking view of ocean with green rolling hills surrounding resort. Very quiet room considering we went at peak season. Close to many tourist activities. Food very pricey though excellent quality. Great beach. Super friendly staff. Spa treatments and in-room dining so expensive I passed them up.

The resort is excellent. The location is good, however it does seem like the farthest hotel from any of the main "tourist" areas. This is not necessarily a bad thing, just something to think about. It also seems to be a more rainy area of the island based on my trip there in April.

My boyfriend and I took this trip with the intention for total recreation & relaxation--which is exactly what we experienced! The Ritz exceeded our expectations regarding activities, food (although a bit pricey), viewing the natural beauty of the aream and other accommodations! The hotel staff was incredibly friendly the overall atmosphere of the resort was calm, quiet, and relaxing--with the Pacific Ocean literally steps away from the hotel, as well as a nature walk path nearby. If planning to go to Maui, this is definitely the place to stay when compared to other resorts on the island. Two months later, we still talk about this vacation. We truly had the most enjoyable time ever.

beautiful and worth every penny! This was actually an extremely affordable deal! I wish would could afford to always stay at such a beautiful place like this!! The staff was also very welcoming and friendly!!

The Ritz more than met our expectations. We were greeted by every member of the staff and they made sure our stay was excellent. They were part of the relaxed atmosphere and great vacation we had. The 24-hour pool was also great as we were able to take a swim under the stars.

We were really lucky to get this Resort to stay! It was beautiful and everything exceeded our expectations. Con: Location is off so you better have a car to do anything on the island unless you plan to stay on site.
