The facilities were good and the staff was friendly.
People put towels to hold chairs around the pool and no one monitors that they don't sit there
Beautiful hotel, many amenities, my only complaint is that people put towels on chairs and leave, sometimes for quite a while, so when your looking for a chair there occupied Other than that we had a great experience!
Quiet room Great view Great amenities in hotel Ideal location Great staff
First of all one of the best hotel pools I have ever seen. Its massive, with a cave with a bar and the pool staff is always there! You can position your pool chair right out to the ocean and if you are lucky can see whales and dolphins. Snorkling right outside too as the beach is right there. So that's the great stuff. Oh, there's a macys and coffee shop inside and before you get to the pool.............penguins. I have no complaints about that. However the inside of the rooms seem outdated, drawers missing screws, etc. but the location and outside stuff made up for it. Short walk to Whalers village and restaurants along the way, including a Starbuck and a very short drive (10 minutes).. to Lahaina. So very conveniently located!
PLenty to do there and in the area! OVerall, wonderful staff and adequate accommodations...it is really getting dated however! and when you haven't gone to a Kuerig coffee maker...how costly is that???? SO, need to update rooms and freshen the decor....but we had a great time, restaurants also very good.
Recently renovated, the hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful. The pools, pathways, penguins, beach and restaurants are all great. The quality of the rooms (or our room at least) did not match that level. Poor quality linens and products. Low water pressure and very small bathroom/shower room with no ventilation. Our wet beach clothes hung for 2 days and were still damp when we had to pack our suitcases. Inconsistent room temperature controls and the blow dryer was circa 1985, also poor quality. Would not stay here again given so many other options. Nothing about the staff was standout or noteworthy. Nice enough but certainly not warm or excellent service or attitudes.
The hotel is just ok .Our room was dusty with holes in the courtains and the furniture seems worn out. They charge you $30 +tax resort fee and they dont even botter to get your two bottles of water or coffee everyday. The mountain view is actually a busy street view... The beach is pretty narrow and they dont allow you to have chairs near the beach... I wouldn't stay here again... We asked for late check out since our flight was later on the evening and my daughters were sick. Right now is low season in Hawaii the hotel wasnt even full and they wanted $75 for two extra hours at the hotel and $150 until 5 pm. No simpathy whatsoever.... It's expensive and the service is not great. Stay somewhere else especially if you have kids. I asked for a high chair 4 times over the phone and they never brought it ....
The architects did a magnificent job tying the architecture of this resort with the surrounding landscape and ocean. We had exquisite views from our room--both the mountains and the ocean.
We stayed here for 3 days and two nights. We had a great experience. Our room was facing the ocean and the bed was facing towards the balcony which made a gorgeous view to wake up to. We kept the balcony door open all night so we could hear the waves crashing in the background. It was very peaceful.
We just got back from paradise!! The hotel is beautiful!!!! the Resort is top notch!! Our room had the most beautiful views!! The pool is so clean sparkles waters, water falls and a cave you can swim through with a bar in it, a tube slide into the pool!! We had a second honeymoon better than our first!! The problem is the FOOD they have a few restaurants all Very very expensive, a hamburger (not a good one) coasts $20 plus your drinks at the UMALU pool side bar n grill , each time me n my husband ate coasted us $70 and the whole area is that way!! Do not expect to find any restaurants cheaper than those, everything is over priced!!! Even the ABC stores!! Not to mention all the extra charges at the hotel!! If you don't rent a car, you're very limited to the ten hotels the board walk and whalers village shopping, If you rent a car self parking at the hotel coasts $18 per day!! Overall Kaanapali beach was awesome!! Warm waters, snorkeling, sandy beaches, beautiful people a lot of kids lol Hyatt regency hotel and resort was awesome!! We had a blast
Everything was great! Staff was great! Food was pretty good in places and great in other places. I just wish I had know the place was under construction and I really wish I had know it was going to rain like crazy ALL WEEK! Other than that it was awesome!!!
Pools, pools, and more pools - great for adults and kids alike. Location is excellent with a terrific snorkeling beach on property! Activities galore, golf, shopping, dinning of every variety with a very amiable staff and accommodations - highly recommend!
Hotel was nice enough though a bit dated. Pool was crowded with no lounge chairs open during the day. Biggest problem was the construction- they never let us know and I think that's just wrong, they should have reduced rates when they are using jack hammers and cutting concrete all day. We work very hard at home and came to relax only to experience the most annoying noise pollution imaginable when we were expecting tranquility.
We had a great time here at the end of our honeymoon. We didn't even go out to eat anywhere else because we are at Japengo twice for dinner which was sooo delicious, Umana once and the Steak place once. The view of the ocean is beautiful. You can just walk on to the beach there. The view of the stars is so beautiful. The pool is open 24 hours. They have a tour where you are able to look at the stars at night with an astronomer eat chocolate covered strawberries and drink champagne, it was very nice. There was also a meteor shower that night so it was perfect. This resort is beautiful, great and would definitely stay here again. Only thing I didn't like is that you pay a $32 resort fee and then on top of it you have to pay $18 per night for parking you own car. If you valet park it is $28 per night. Every resort has the resort fee but it usually includes the parking in it.
I love the Hyatt in Maui and would stay here again in a heartbeat! My experience was great from the start. The person who checked us in was so nice and wonderful to upgrade us to ocean view. She also gave us some beautiful leis which were nice to take pictures with. Felt really Hawaiian in those pics! Haha. Our room was very clean and had a breathtaking view of the ocean and I loved sitting out there at night and listening to the ocean and also watching the sun come up in the morning. Maui is truly gorgeous! My daughter loved the penguins and it was cool to see all the other birds on the grounds (flamingos, swans, ducks, parrots, etc...). The pool was awesome! Several waterfalls and a bar in the cave area. The kiddie pool area was fun for kids. I love that there is Ulalani's shave ice on site! So good and refreshing in the heat!
Surprisingly excellent classes at the fitness center which can often be a miss in the hotel-resort world; coming from SF one has expectations. The Pilates and yoga instructors were the real deal, one a former Alvin Ailey dancer and the other a consummate yogi w amazing lines and patience to guide in the best professional way. Overall double thumbs up.
Excellent service! Top notch facilities! Loved their pool! Great view. Great service. U get a lei upon arrival. Breakfast is free. Lox, bagels, eggs, fruits... My husband & I had a great time!
Staff very nice, helpful. Construction going on during visit which was a little bit to get around and wish there was some type of compensation for putting up with that. Room large and generally comfortable as expected with Hyatts, but bathroom was kind of small and shower space was awkward.
