staff was nice ,hotel fine, needs to reactive coffee bar in lobby ( no snacks/ food available w/o driving to store.)Smokers are forced into tiny clostrophobic area - even cars in their lot can belch exhast.. but can't smoke in open air parking lot. political correctness gone crazy.
Not so easy to find, but once we found it were very pleased with everything the hotel offered. Nice rooms, full sized stove and refrigerator, comfy bed and awesome views. We slept with the lanai door open (screen door closed) and were lulled to sleep by the gentle waves. Lovely. Well located with restaurants close by, and only a few minutes from Lahaina.
Coming into the hotel we were in the middle of a storm. We were wet and tired. There was no advice on what to do in Maui when it rains when we asked the front desk. The front desk neglected to mention that there was a supermarket 400 meters away, where we could get umbrellas, especially since they had none to offer. The room was big and had the full kitchen we booked, and a washer and dryer. The fold out couch had a thin 3 inch spring mattress that had no support. We thought of sleeping on the floor, but it was covered in really smelly shag carpet. Beyond that there was a small pool, coral covered beach that my son couldnt swim into without getting cut up. There were no amenities to offer, no restaurant, not even a little trinket table. The view of the ocean was great and a big tease since we would have to wake up and drive to a swimable beach everyday. There were anouncements that pest control is an ongoing battle, so we hustled to clean up every crumb after ourselves to keep away the critters. And two days into our stay the power went out. There was no hot water, no air conditioner, no lights or anything. We had to move our food to the staff fridge so it wouldn't spoil and were forced to eat out for the next 24 hrs. There were no appologies or extended curtosies. Perhaps if they offered coffee and fruit in the morning as a gesture, that would have gone a long way. We did get two glow sticks for light, that my son loved to play with. Telling our 5 year old that he had to wait until we drove somewhere to get food was not a great way to spend our vacation. The power did come back on after two days and one night, and after some heavy handed arm twisting from my husband the hotel agreed to refund one night. I would not stay in this hotel again, my family and I need a full kitchen, air conditioning, and a swimable beach. We found that the Royal Lahana had great amenities, the best beach, and super helpful staff. That's where we spent most of our time in the end with our friends. And IF we go back, the Aston will not be our accommodations.
Loved it. Gorgeous pool and ocean view. Maid service, low resort fees, beach right outside, professional excursion advice right in the lobby, close to all the best stuff like zip lines, beaches, black rock, Lahaina nightlife, restaurants, shopping. Good kitchen too and a washer and dryer. Also grills available with tables....georgeous landscaping.
Terrible stay, Air conditioner was not working. Very uncomfortable the whole time. No bar for a nightly get together. Beds very uncomfortable.
We loved our location, got upgraded from a efficiency to one bedroom without asking! Stayed on 3rd floor. Palm trees are located between the balconies so we had a completely unobstructed view. Hotel is right on the beach. Great snorkeling just outside of hotel with sea turtles! Located close to everything.
Just amazing...thats comes on mind first. Our stay at Aston Mahana was awesome. Beautiful view of Pacific ocean, sunset & 2 other islands from our patio. If you lucky can see humping whales jumping from water at distant. Beautiful beach at downstairs. Restaurant near by. Perfect for honeymoon couple. you can see beauty of Maui from your patio.
We went to the Aston Mahana for our honeymoon. The hotel was just as it was advertised. It was quiet and occupied by adults. The pool was great and the view was fantastic. The hotel charged for wifi...you're in Hawaii who needs wifi?
Needs better room service. Very basic, towels not always exchanged. But great views and comfy condo
The hotel met my expectation. It is right by the ocean - we had ocean side room. From the balcony we could hear waves crashing sound and enjoy the beauty of the ocean. At night there will be reflection of moon in the ocean which was awesome. The studio room was equipped with everything - all kind of kitchen stuff, washer-dryer, TV, playstation, dvd player.
Our stay was perfect. The room was right on the beach the room and grounds were clean and the staff was friendly. We will stay there again. Highly recommended!!
Oceanfront view with balcony, full kitchen, nice, non-crowded pool and spa, and literally steps to the beach. I would definitely stay here again.
We loved this place. Tucked in at the north end of Kaanapali beach, this gem has the best views ever. Every room is beach front with floor to ceiling windows. The best selling point for us was the surf break Rainbows right outside our room. My husband rented a board and he was out there twice a day. Heaven!!
Hotel had a great view, right on the water. Walking distance to stores
We had the best view from our lanai and saw whales just about everyday. Our studio was perfect size for the 2 of us. The price was great and we are going back this April. The staff was very helpful when we needed something. There are grills outside when you want to dine in that are very well kept and clean. The beach is only a few steps way. We stayed on the 7th floor and I would recommend staying on a higher floor for the view.
Fantastic place to stay. Location: right on beach with great views however, away from all the shopping, dining, etc. Also snorkeling right out front, but need short walk 100 yards either direction for swimming area.
We had a great 10 day stay. The ocean view was outstanding. At check-in we had to wait 20 minutes for the room to be ready and the management made it up by waiving the daily $18.00 amenities fee. In addition, there was some minor construction on our tower. When we inquired about the inconvenience from some noise they waived the amenities fee for the entire stay. Easy access to parking and the boardwalk was a plus.
Stay on the 10th floor out of the noise and chatter of people passing by and kids playing on the beach. Perfect view of the beach and the blue ocean of Maui. I am very happy that I had 2 weeks in this perfect place. I have increased my stay very time I have been (3 times). Everyone is friendly without being pushy. These are rented private suites so it is different from the noise of a Hotel or Vacation rental only suite. A little extra but worth it. I have recommended this place to all my friends and I could never say enough good things about my home away from home. You can cook and eat what you want or go out to an array of nearby restaurants. There are many activities available from para sailing to volcano flights. I am a scuba diver and can recommend the dive shop just down the road. I would say that there is little chance that you will be disappointed and if you are say something because they will go out of their way to help you.
This hotel is on the beach and has direct access to the beach but so are many other hotels in Maui. However, there was a construction going on in the hotel which made the balcony unusable. This website did not tell us about the construction and neither did the staff at the reception desk. To make things worse, they stopped the water in the middle of the day and I just happened to be in the shower. They called after they stopped the water which was useless. They charge you hidden fees when you check out.
We were on vacation for a week first time in Maui and this hotel definitely exceeded our expectations. From minute one we were happy as we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment from a studio unit. All units are facing the ocean so no chance of facing the mountain or gardens if you are looking forward to see the humpbacks! Great location, pool and hot tub are very clean, units have all kinds of kitchen supplies (appliances are great quality for a hotel) which is great if you are planning to do some meals at the unit (which we did). Daily newspaper, tea/coffee service was also useful. Free wifi (super fast) and free parking was quite nice considering most hotels in Maui charge for those two. Finally, this hotel is definitely worth the money for what it has to offer. Definitely recommend it!!
