The overall experience was good but the room cleaning is not comprehensive.

We Stayed at the Aston at Papakea Resort from 10/152017 to 10/25/2017. Most of the time was a enjoyable experience. A storm came on 10/24/2017 and we woke up to 3 inch's of water on the floor. We spread out the bathroom towels trying to get the water up. When house keeping came by all they did was to the take the towels we put outside. We finished mopping the floor and house keeping didn't even replace the towels we used. Most of the bottom floors by are unit were flooded.

The facility seemed fine although I didn't use the pools etc. The room was probably built 30 years ago and never upgraded. Cabinets in poor condition. Air conditioner held together with tape and super noisy. Pretty clean, but not nice. Not what I would have expected. Apparently never upgraded. Other units apparently have been upgraded. That must depend on owner and luck.

This hotel is close to the ocean and has a very small beach. There are gardens near the Ocean to relax on however don't get close to the wall as they are very strict. There are a lot of rules that they don't tell you about at check in. No noise after 10pm (a little early but manageable), this is a no smoking resort, no diving or playing with balls in the pools. No sitting on the Ocean walls. The pools open from 9am till 9pm. When checking out get ready for the huge bill they will slap you with ($17 per day resort fee and $89 cleaning fee). Had I known this was going to be added I would not have booked this hotel. Their amenities are good, 2 pools, mini golf and other games are available for the kids.

Beautiful view and property, they don't clean much during the stay considering the cleaning fee and resort fee though. However, Would stay again.

Ocean front room with gorgeous views and a private balcony. Very pleased!

My husband and I went to Maui for our 1 yr weddng anniversary. I've never been to Hawaii so I found the Aston resort when I was buying my combined flight and hotel package on orbitz so I was thrilled. A bit skeptical on what the actual resort would look like but the ratings really helped the initial decision. When we got to the resort it was late so we actually made a few u turns following our googlemap GPS to find the right location. There are a few different signs that said papakea and none of them actually said Aston so that made it a bit difficult to find. When we did find the right lobby to sign in to, the staff at the reception desk was very quick and helpful. my husband and I were very impressed with the garden view room we were given. When we woke in the morning, we would get to see the beautiful view outside and see the sunset at night. I believe the ocean view rooms might have been more scenic but you could also just walk out of your room and lounge on the chairs and look into the ocean. The resort is very big, you can see the staff keeping the landscape neat and presentable. The resort also has 2 clean pools and hot tubs that you can use.

Condo was good size for the two of us and had a nice patio with a great ocean view. Nice kitchen and bathroom, comfortable bed, and very handy washer/dryer. Good location within walking distance of restaurants, grocery store, and shops. Staff was wonderful and the concierge helped book fun excursions. Would've been better if there had been a beach vs ocean wall. The heated pool was nice but always full because there was no beach. The airline ticketing through orbitz is another subject and was a problem.

Several vacations in Hawaii at all of the islands. This trip to Maui was the best! Papakea exceeded our expectations. What a great place to stay and relax. We enjoyed the ocean view, the sunsets, and relaxing time on the lanai. Good parking and walkways. Fabulous landscaping and grounds. The pool area is very clean and well maintained; excellent staff.

Our second trip to Maui, first time staying at the Papakea, property is very well manicured and maintained, the pools were cleaned every morning (such a nice thing to see), room was very clean and well stocked with kitchen needs. Resort very quiet. The location is perfect for walking to nearby restaurants, store and the beach. Driving distance to downtown shopping is about 10 minutes. We had an amazing vacation and I will book this resort again!!

Nice condo for the money. Location was nice as well. Our room was dated, but clean. The full kitchen was nice to have to save money to do other activities.

Wonderful room - great location and amentities - resort full so parking was an issue

The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. There were several enjoyable amenities. Parking was difficult. There should be a designated space per apartment. The apartment was in very poor condition. The kitchen formica was chipped and broken in several places, one electric burner was sticking up, drawers were crooked and unable to open. cabinets did not closed well. The shower was old with curtains and the water did not drain well. The entire place needs painting and updating.

The hotel was clean and neat when we arrived. The staff was very nice and hospitable.

Room was recently remodeled and we loved the tile floor throughout the unit. Nice to have a full kitchen with new appliances. Washer and dryer was nice to have so we didn't have to pack so much. Beautiful ocean view from balcony.

Beautiful hotel, condo-style. I enjoy a full kitchen and the feel of home away from home.

This place really wasn't anything special. Actually, you can rent the same condos on VRBO for less. Location was great!

Had to change my room after I complained they gave me a upgrade that was ok. Air conditioning didn't work they only took the trash the view was nice but I don't think I'll be going back....

Nice place to stay. Quiet, clean and close to restaurants

We love it st Papakea. Staff is friendly and helpful. Surroundings are well kept. Clean room.

Aloha Ray, Thank you for sharing your review. We apologize that the additional fees were not communicated to you properly. However, we are aware that Expedia and all other sites that are partners with the Aston at Papakea mentions our additional fee's prior to booking and also in their confirmations. As for the rules at our resort, though it may seem much, it is implemented for the safety of our guests as it is our main concern at this property. Once again, I do apologize for the inconvenience and hope you give us another chance to regain your trust in the Aston at Papakea Resort. Mahalo
