Nice solid hotel in great central location. Room was quite small and very firm mattress. Like the idea of eco friendly cleaning options - where you can select if you want your room to be fully cleaned or just bed made and towels changed to save water. Didn’t have a chance as stayed only one night but this is right approach!

What we liked: Spacious room and comfortable bed. Very big window with a nice view of the mountain. Nice variety for the breakfast buffet in the lobby restaurant and very worth the price. The eggplant dish and the fish were some of our favourites. Well located and walkable, 5-minutes from the bus terminal, 7-minutes to the JR train station, 12-minutes to the Matsumoto Castle. We enjoyed our stay. What we think can be improved: The bathroom is functional and spacious but it smelled slightly of humidity, probably because of the bathtub, because for some reason, these Japanese hotels don’t put caulking around the bathtub and the water seeps into the crack around the wall.

Turned out to be perfect for an overnight stay. It was only 4 minutes walk from the train station and Izakayas. I had a wonderful view of the snow capped mountains in the morning.

This is a conveniently situated hotel with comfortable rooms, helpful staff and excellent breakfasts. I’ve stayed here before and find it an excellent base for train-based day trips around the region as well as for Matsumoto itself
