I have to admit - the hotel is modern, rooms are good... but... The location is not good - far from the center in a boaring neigborhood. The attitude towards my group (I am a tour guide) was rather formal and not friendly. Apart from most hotels in the smaller cities, they charge for water in dinners, they cfharge for using the swimming pool and they were very strict. No Portugeuse friendliness that you find in most hotels.
Hi, My husband and I (42) spent 4 days in Porto to celebrate New Year's Eve. I had already been 1X in this hotel for business, and as I enjoyed my stay, I decided to go back to this hotel, even if this time it was for leisure. As all the other guests, I can confirm .... this is a good choice! Good location, 5 min walk to get the metro. Easy to call a Uber driver to move around too, if you want. Really comfortable and nicely decorated rooms. A lot of choice at the breakfast buffet. Welcoming, smiling and helpful staff members. Thanks to Catia at the reception who took good care of us. We enjoyed a massage a the Spa. The relaxing pool, saune and hamman were really nice too. And this time the temperature of the pool was ok, 28 degrees. In conclusion: lovely stay. We will definitely come back to AXIS Porto!
The hotel isn't in the city centre area, but for a conference it was perfectly okay. You can take a metro to reach city centre or take an Uber taxi. Metro stop is about 12 minute walk. The dinner buffet wasn't spectacular, breakfast was really good. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were spacious, clean and quite pleasant. Wifi was good. The hotel was perfectly fine, but nothing special. I would go again, since visiting the city from there was easy and we had a good time there. A couple of supermarkets nearby, as are some restaurants and bars (about 10 minute walk). One thing I would suggest is they improve the bar service: we would have made much use of it, if they would have paid more attention to customers wanting to use it.
I stayed at this hotel for two nights. It looks good from outside and the lobby and rooms are ok. The building is very noisy though..: thin walls. There is no gym. Breakfast was fine too although nothing special. It is an average business hotel. I would come back as it is not pricey either. In that sense it is good value for money.
Just spent 4 nights in this hotel as we were exhibiting at an Expo close by. I decided to book this particular hotel as I was here for 2 nights in July and found the place to be extremely good in comparison to the price. Great rooms at a good price and good food especially the buffet breakfast include in the price.
A very nice hotel room, good breakfast buffet and very kind personnel at reception and restaurant - what else you need when discovering the interesting town of Porto. The surrounding of the hotel isn't very attractive and you need to take either the car or the metro to visit the old part of Porto.
Stayed 5 nights. Hotel is a bit far from centrum, 10-15minuts walk from metro. Room and service ok, but nothing more. Have 4 stars, but more like 3 stars. Breakfast okay. Boiled eggs was green, and bacon raw.
I stayed for 1 night only as a stopover after a late flight but the hotel was the perfect choice. The reception staff were very friendly - with a good sense of humour, our family room was very comfortable and furnished to a high standard. I liked that it had 2 separate rooms, and I had a great view on the balcony. The evening meal in the restaurant was good quality and very reasonably priced. Breakfast good too. I would definitely stay again if the price was right. I can't comment on the location as I did not go exploring. I also did not get a chance to use the spa
Don't doubt! Very very Nice hotel with great spa, good restaurant and amazing rooms. The people at the reception were very Nice and we got An upgrade to a suite, WOW! Also the food in the restaurant is really good. And also very good WiFi.
I ended up in this hotel for 2 nights as the 2 others I had been recommended were full. Although the rate appeared exagerated in that remote Area in Porto and rather popular neighbourhood, I must admit I really enjoyed the room in general and its balcony. My king size matress and the pillows were of top quality. Good young professional staff, pretty good dinner (although it was ruined by a group of 50 loud elderly German tourists). Nothing about the fact they were Germans though! However, very average breakfast in terms of choice and quality, which was a bit of a shame!
