Worst ever hotel I’ve been stayed. They have massive construction/renovation and never get back to us. But we not stay in our room all day which noisy from construction side. We appreciate they allow us for early check in around 10am, just to leave our suitcase and go out for business meeting. Not profesional Front Officer , just remind women staff that I will early check out at 4:15 am following day and order bfast box. When returned a man staff didn’t understand what I had talk to his colleagues incharge before him. And said not possible to order bfast box coz to late order, around 11 pm. But he just found 1 box let at the desk, exactly my box ordered. Is not till this phase, I told him that I order taxi to get the airport early morning at 4:15 am, and he said confirm by write diwn my order. But when I ready for my transfer at 4:15am other front officer stand by for night shift said that his colleagues mis understand my order and wrote at 4:50am. Wow shocked me a lot coz a fix schedule I planned to get my flight. But the front officer immediate contact the taxi and request come to pick me up as soon. Than 5 minutes the driver arrive and took me to airport. Can imagine with the company standard services given to their valued costumer. So not really recommended this hotel.
No bad hotel, but honestly we can get better with the same price, let's give you a + and - points (+) +Front desk staff very nice and helpful +bed very confortable you get nice sleep +amazing Nespresso café machine with 3 free doses +small music radio +tow white clean bathrobe waiting on the top of the bed +nice breakfast +metro: station at 7minutes walk, and you take a ticket one way to city center for about 1,5€ -+ spécial modern room design, but old carpet (-) -bathroom clean but not so beautiful -really an old carpet Moquette, you can see on the pic the color changed from blue to i dont know what -parking, if you find a place front of the hotel so its free for you, otherwise a not far parking with special price, but the problem i didn't found anyone to open me the door parking at 23:00 :/
We stayed 4 nights while I competed in an athletics competition. The Mercure is near one of the Metro stations and we were able to get busses easily (I can thoroughly recommend the City Pass). I'd have preferred a proper double bed rather than two singles pushed together but they were comfortable and even though it was scorching outside, the air conditioning was effective. The buffet breakfast had lots of variety, particularly in baked goods and good quality coffee. There was a juicer there for those who wanted the freshest of freshly squeezed juice.
Lovely place, very friendly staff but no parking, only a paid one. The room was very clean the decoration was absolutely beautiful! I haven't tried the breakfast because it was too expensive compared to the options around the hotel.
When we arrived we were obliged to wait for more than five minutes before any member of staff acknowledged us not even eyes contact, because three members of staff behind the desk were all assisting one family in front of us. Any request which I have made when I called over the telephone were totally ignored, therefore i have to justify myself again. We spent three successive nights never been greeted either on way out nor in by any staff. Overall very degrading experience based on the facts i will never recommend this particular branch even to my worst enemy.
I have been there 4 days for a wine exhibition. The position was perfect, the rooms were really confortable and cleaned, also the restaurant was really good, expecially the breakfast meal. Only some of the receptionists were not so friendly.
The hotel was older but, well kept and maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful, most spoke English. The hotel is on a quiet street directly across from a mini grocery store and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Also within walking distance to a large open market area. There is a nearby metro service which takes you to city center within less than 10 minutes. The noise from room to room can be a little loud but, I realized that really the noisiest people are the cleaning staff. They are a little heavy handed and just sound like they are slamming everything they touch, I realize they have many rooms to clean but, again the hotel is older and the sound proofing isn't so good so maybe they could take the noise level down a few notches especially in the mornings when people are still trying to sleep. Other than that it really was a nice stay.
Although I would not normally call this a four star hotel, contrary to other reviews, we found it clean, not smelly. Our room was fairly basic for 4 stars and a little tired but very clean and adequately furnished. The lady came in daily and did a good job of cleaning the room and replenished the coffee etc. The included breakfast was not fancy but nice, and you could have what you wanted in terms of quantity. We ordered room service twice and it was good food and reasonably priced. The hotel is a little way out of town but there are a couple of decent restaurants close by and good transport links a short walk away. If I came back to Marseille I would stay again due to the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel.
This hotel is one of the worst I have ever stayed in. If I could give 0.5 or even 0 stars I wouldn't hesitate. Complete dump. Upon entering the room you are "welcomed" by a nasty, rotten smell coming either from the pipes in the bathroom or from the AC unit. Or possibly from both. It is difficult to figure it out as it smells so badly everywhere that you just cannot find the source. If you open the window, the noise from the street is unbearable. If you close it, you can sleep but it is far from being a pleasant and relaxing night. The room is completely worn out, dirty, with cupboards and even clothes hangers scratched. How can you even scratch a cloth hanger?? I have never seen anything like that. I will never ever stay here again - I was not a fan of Mercure brand but now I will honestly try to avoid their hotels at any cost. Hotels like this one are a disgrace to the tourism industry.
Although not right in the heart of Marseille, this hotel was in a great area. Walking distance to the beach and very close to both the bus stop and Rond-Point du Prado metro station. The rooms were clean and spacious and the service was excellent.
