Best Western Hotel La Rade3.0 out of 5.0

Poor experience and here is why: 1. Cassis is hilly and this hotel is located on the hill so you may need to roll your luggage up or down the hills to get from and to your parking space. 2. Hotel has about 10 parking spots - be ready to park somewhere else and pay for it depending on where you park. Hotel advertises free parking but it would be nice to mention that they are limited. 3. Pool is open from 10.00 to 20.00. 4. Hotel is fairly close to the beach and strip with restaurants (mostly because Cassis is small) but there are hotels closer to the beach 5. Breakfast is served until 10.30 and costs $15. From traveling alone the coast of Spain and France, this was the most experience breakfast that was not worth it. We did not pay this much in Barcelona (surely more expensive city in comparison with Cassis). The food overall was not hygienic (e.g. did not provide a wrapper for baguettes and everyone was touching your bread before you get to cut your piece). 6. This hotel gave a new definition to the word "tiny". The room is so small that the door to the bathroom did not open all the way. The bathroom is so small that we had to sit on the toilet sideways otherwise your head would end up in the shower. Understandably they fit as many rooms as they could in the small town of Cassis. 7. Our hotel room had a dripping air conditioning. 8. If you are struggling with french - be aware that the hotel staff does not speak great English. You can get by with the main questions but if you have an issue it might be difficult to get an adequate response.
A good hotel at a good location. A bit small rooms, but not extraordinary. Great service level and hospitality. Good French breakfast. Nice pool area. And more important- short walking distance to the port area.
We stayed for two nights in Cassis and the Best Western was in an ideal location for the town. From the port of Cassis everything is up a hill to get home, but this hotel isn't too strenuous. The staff at the hotel were very polite, friendly and helpful. The pool is a great added bonus and usually quite quiet. Would definitely stay again if revisiting Cassis!
This hotel is just above the port and beach area with limited parking on the road outside. Cassis is delightful with good beaches, nice informal restaurants alongside the port and a relaxed ambience. We liked it! The hotel has an outside heated pool and Jacuzzi and a large open breakfast/bar area on the ground floor. Access is by steps - so difficult for disabled people. Breakfast was 13.90 Euro's per person so we gave that a miss. And the room was expensive too at £135 for one night in September. The bedroom was TINY! Barely room to stand up around the double bed - and the bathroom (albeit with a good shower) was miniscule! Tea nad coffee facilites and good free wi-fi.
This hotel is in a perfect location, just a few minutes walk from the harbour and its many restaurants. We booked this as Best Western Hotels have a good reputation. However our room (28) was very small and not well equipped. We had read other reviews about the size of rooms but did not quite expect to be that small. We stayed for 2 nights and only found the electric blind switch on the 2nd night! There is a lovely large heated pool with plenty of sunbeds. Double check if you have breakfast included in the rate. If not, we suggest eating at the harbour because breakfast is very limited at 13Eur PP.
I stayed there with my mom and I'm extremely impressed with the service we received. The staff were extremely accommodating and even dropped us off at the station when we couldn't get a taxi. Can't thank you enough for that. Apart from that- the location is superb and the rooms are well maintained. Thank you all for such a great stay.
Location of the hotel is good. If you plan to stay around the pool it is not the best place because the pool and solarium are very small. If you go to visit Cassis, walk around, go to the beach it is excellent. Good to know: - the hotel parking is tiny and immediately full, there is a public parking nearby at walking distance where we paid about 50 euro for 2 days. - our room had no curtains !!! (only a transparant kind of cloth hanging in front of the window that was broken) so it was a bit difficult at night when we wanted to undress as our room faced the street..... So you may want to check this immediately upon checkin and ask for another room if they give you this room (room 11). - rooms are small but clean and beds are comfy. - breakfast is good. Everything is self service. No staff at all, but everything is there - location of the hotel is very good. Walking distance to the port and to different beaches. - the hotel has no restaurant , they only serve breakfast.
Didn't get my room with a view. They offered a street view and ended up putting us in a kind of conference room with no furniture but a slight view if you walked up to the window. If you just want a place to lay your head down, this will work for you. It is conveniently located. They are very disorganized.
We stayed here for 7 nights and had a wonderful time. Really appreciated the outdoor pool with sea views. An easy 5 minute walk down to the pretty port for lunch and dinner. The hotel breakfasts offered a wide variety of foods and beverages and it was a pleasure to sit overlooking the pool and coast. The complimentary bottle of wine in the room, and pastries and ice tea throughout the day were welcome touches. Our bedrooms were kept very clean by the friendly chambermaids. The staff were helpful. Would recommend La Stazione and Le Grande Blue in the port for food. The vongole at Le Stazione lives on in my memory!
We found ourselves craving the sun of Cassis and booked into La Rade. A great choice. Room a little small but no big deal, the beds were comfy and the A/C efficient. Location excellent, near two beaches, the port, and the restaurants. Breakfast faultless with smoked salmon, fresh OJ, fresh fruit, etc. There's a heated swimming pool, plenty of sun beds, and glorious views over the bay and the huge red Soubeyranes cliffs. Hotel Parking limited but spaces were also to be had in local streets.
