Could not really fault the hotel. Nicely placed, just a short walk from the port and all the restaurants. Within walking distance of the pretty national park (30 minutes or so up the hill then a circular walk from there is possible). Reception was great and even printed my rugby tickets for the weekend game in Toulon that we had just purchased on line. The room was a bit small but fine for our needs. The bathroom again small but clean (although the shower screen did leak quite badly). Tea and coffee in the room, a large safe and a quiet night. There is limited parking which may be a problem at busier times of the year.
In January 2018, we booked online and payed in advance for two nights in a standard room at Best Western Hotel La Rade,1st and 2nd March 2018. On the 23rd February six days before the date of our reservation, the weather forecast for the region became extreme, (40 cms of snow), we contacted the hotel by email to advise them that we would not be able to travel on that date, asking them if they could postpone the date to a later time. We were assured by the receptionist by telephone that the date could be changed to a later date subject to availability.and a credit would certainly be possible. He advised us to contact them again at a later date to arrange a new booking. When we contacted them, they then denied that this was the agreement made with the receptionist, we were in fact being treated as a 'no show'. The commercial representative contacted us and stated that the very best they could do was that we pay again for the two nights! The Manager refused to make direct contact with us preferring to hide behind the commercial representative! This is at best - gross incompetence, at worst - downright dishonest! Having payed in advance and then informed them in advance, it should have been straightforward to send us a credit for the original booking. At no time did we receive any communication regarding a credit. The telephone conversation with the receptionist and the verbal agreement made at that point was not honoured. To discover that we had lost our money (181.00 Euros) was a huge disappointment.
We were only here for one night but they made us feel special . Gave us a upgrade to their newest renovated suite . We needed some dishes for our food and they help get us exactly what we needed. The location was walking distance to the water. The free parking was a plus as well.
It is a nice 3* hotel, with good breakfast and an amazing sea view. The pool is also a plus! The only minus was that there is no elevator and there are different sets of stairs to the room. Staff was friendly and smiling.
Poor experience and here is why: 1. Cassis is hilly and this hotel is located on the hill so you may need to roll your luggage up or down the hills to get from and to your parking space. 2. Hotel has about 10 parking spots - be ready to park somewhere else and pay for it depending on where you park. Hotel advertises free parking but it would be nice to mention that they are limited. 3. Pool is open from 10.00 to 20.00. 4. Hotel is fairly close to the beach and strip with restaurants (mostly because Cassis is small) but there are hotels closer to the beach 5. Breakfast is served until 10.30 and costs $15. From traveling alone the coast of Spain and France, this was the most experience breakfast that was not worth it. We did not pay this much in Barcelona (surely more expensive city in comparison with Cassis). The food overall was not hygienic (e.g. did not provide a wrapper for baguettes and everyone was touching your bread before you get to cut your piece). 6. This hotel gave a new definition to the word "tiny". The room is so small that the door to the bathroom did not open all the way. The bathroom is so small that we had to sit on the toilet sideways otherwise your head would end up in the shower. Understandably they fit as many rooms as they could in the small town of Cassis. 7. Our hotel room had a dripping air conditioning. 8. If you are struggling with french - be aware that the hotel staff does not speak great English. You can get by with the main questions but if you have an issue it might be difficult to get an adequate response.
A good hotel at a good location. A bit small rooms, but not extraordinary. Great service level and hospitality. Good French breakfast. Nice pool area. And more important- short walking distance to the port area.
We stayed for two nights in Cassis and the Best Western was in an ideal location for the town. From the port of Cassis everything is up a hill to get home, but this hotel isn't too strenuous. The staff at the hotel were very polite, friendly and helpful. The pool is a great added bonus and usually quite quiet. Would definitely stay again if revisiting Cassis!
This hotel is just above the port and beach area with limited parking on the road outside. Cassis is delightful with good beaches, nice informal restaurants alongside the port and a relaxed ambience. We liked it! The hotel has an outside heated pool and Jacuzzi and a large open breakfast/bar area on the ground floor. Access is by steps - so difficult for disabled people. Breakfast was 13.90 Euro's per person so we gave that a miss. And the room was expensive too at £135 for one night in September. The bedroom was TINY! Barely room to stand up around the double bed - and the bathroom (albeit with a good shower) was miniscule! Tea nad coffee facilites and good free wi-fi.
This hotel is in a perfect location, just a few minutes walk from the harbour and its many restaurants. We booked this as Best Western Hotels have a good reputation. However our room (28) was very small and not well equipped. We had read other reviews about the size of rooms but did not quite expect to be that small. We stayed for 2 nights and only found the electric blind switch on the 2nd night! There is a lovely large heated pool with plenty of sunbeds. Double check if you have breakfast included in the rate. If not, we suggest eating at the harbour because breakfast is very limited at 13Eur PP.
I stayed there with my mom and I'm extremely impressed with the service we received. The staff were extremely accommodating and even dropped us off at the station when we couldn't get a taxi. Can't thank you enough for that. Apart from that- the location is superb and the rooms are well maintained. Thank you all for such a great stay.
