We enjoyed our recent ski/birthday trip! The only reason I am giving 4/5 stars is due to the listing saying 4WD/AWD recommended. There is a sign when you pull onto the road that this cabin resides on that says “4WD required”. During our stay, one of our vehicles got stuck and stranded on the side of the mountain due to road conditions with the snow. This is absolutely no fault to the host but due to reading the listing and also reaching out to the host before we arrived to make sure 4WD was not required, we felt safe. We had to walk 2 miles up the mountain in 7 inches of snow so I can attest that you almost definitely need 4WD during the winter months. With that being said, we were in contact with the host multiple times over our stay and they helped us feel comfortable and helped with any problem we had a hand which were a few due to the weather in the area. Over, we enjoyed our stay. Hot tub was warm and clean, fireplaces worked amazing, clean bathrooms and bedrooms. Vince, who I was conversing with the whole weekend made us feel at ease and made sure we had anything we needed at all times. I can’t thank him and the company enough. The views were amazing and can’t imagine how beautiful they would be in the Fall!

A true mountain cabin: location, views, decoration, amenities
This cabin was all I wanted for our long weekend getaway. The house was beautiful, very well decorated and furnished, spacious, games, hot tub, games, etc. The kids definitely making core memories. The location was perfect, on the top overlooking west to a gorgeous mountain horizon skyline as the sun sets. I highly recommend this property.

Beary Cozy
Beary Cozy is the perfect name for this lovely getaway. The cottage was spacious, very clean, nicely decorated, and literally provided everything we needed. We really enjoyed the back porch and the private hot tub. We look forward to staying here again in the future. We enjoyed our stay and our first trip to Branson.

Great girls’ getaway
The location of this property is amazing. You need to drive carefully to reach this destination because of its location in the mountains but it is so worth the drive. The Appalachian house is nicely appointed with everything you need for a little getaway. The weather was a little cool so we were able to turn on the fireplace each evening, work on a crazy puzzle, play some fun card games, enjoy adult refreshments, and just chat. With four in our group, we each had our own bedroom with two of us sharing the upstairs bath. The accommodations were quite comfortable; we would give this property a very high recommendation.

Appalachian House
This property is in a beautiful location with a spectacular view of the sunset.
The linens were very ‘cheap’ quality. Both sheets and towels. The grill did not work well. The pool table and light above were broken and had not been repaired.
Two of the lights above the dining table were out and were to high to replace ourselves, plus there were no extra bulbs that we could find.
There were chairs on the top deck but no side tables....no where to comfortably put your beverage or book down.
It is quite a drive from Asheville and not one you would want to do in the dark. But, given that, the sunset was so spectacular we were ‘home’ in time to see it each night of our stay.

Extended family vacation in the mountains
We traveled to Mars Hill with plans of exploring in an around Asheville and the surrounding area. Our family is half children and half adults, ages ranging from 8-65. We loved that the cabin was spacious with plenty of room to have time together and alone, with bedrooms in each floor it made it easy to provide privacy as needed. The large kitchen is well stocked with most typical items for cooking and eating. It was a huge bonus to have a washer and dryer within the unit, although it could be larger and quieter. They whole family used the pool and fooze ball tables as well as the out door hot tub. There is more than enough deck space between the three levels and the views were outstanding. The community pool offered another close and free recreational opportunity.
As described, you are literally on top of the mountain. Driving back and forth is a bit time consuming and should be done with care. We tended to avoid returning back up after dark. You need to make sure to plan and pack or buy what you need before you head up because there is no such thing as running out quickly. The views and peace are worth the drive. I’m sure this would be a fantastic place to stay to see the fall colors.

Cabin with a great view!!
The cabin was great and large enough for a family of five to spread out and every kid had their own room. The pool table, foosball table and hot tub were a hit with the kids!! The view from the back deck was amazing, especially the sunsets! The cabin is within about 25 min from Asheville. We were able to go to the Biltmore , Grove Park Inn and horseback riding.
You definitely need to plan meals ahead and have what you need before you head up the mountain. We stopped at the grocery store in Asheville. There did not seem like much to do in the area around the cabin. The Wolf Laurel Ski Lodge was closed for the season- there were no warmer weather activities.
Overall our activities in Asheville , the cabin and the view were a winning combination!!

Lovely western view!
Beautiful cabin with plenty of room for our group of 6. Our hot tub had multiple issues, so we only got to use it 10 minutes during temperate conditions. Maintenance was quick to help. Fireplaces and common areas were inviting, and kitchen well-equipped. Location was remote enough to enjoy the nature but close enough to other opportunities Asheville had to offer!

The cabin was wonderful and the views from the decks off the back could not have been prettier. There was nothing lacking in the cabin and all of the essentials were provided, and then some. It was a fantastic cabin and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Great mountain home
We thoroughly enjoyed this house on the top of Wolf Laurel with fantastic views. The house is comfortable and well-appointed with comfortable furniture.
There are no grocery stores in the vacinity, and the house does not coffee, tea or anything else in the pantry. Come well supplied for a relaxing vacation.

If you want a real mountain getaway, this is it. Look no further. This is as authentic as it gets. It’s breath taking the views and the height. The roads are swirly and elevated and it’s an amazing experience. Thank you for this amazing cabin. It had board games, a pool table, a fully loaded kitchen. This is the family vacation you been looking for.

Beautiful fully stocked mountain home. Two minor suggestions.... There are no hangers in the closets.. and a few more comfy chairs in the basement would be nice to watch movies as a family.
