If anyone asked me where to stay in Marrakesh, I would unhesitatingly recommend Talaa 12. Why? - easy. You enter through a wooden gate in a wall and step into an oasis of calm, far removed from the bustle of street and souk life, only metres away, so the location is perfect. We were three girls, well one semi-ancient mother and two daughters and the service we received from Karim, Mohammed and the others was charming and efficient and always delivered with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was enormous and after being caught in a deluge, Mohammed lit a log fire for us in the room. We had birthday tea and cakes in front of it, lovely. There is no restaurant as such but we had a delicious pre ordered dinner there, with wine, the first night, again in front of a log fire which felt like a private dining room. Everything that other reviews mention is true, so go there.
We spent four nights in March 2017 and were impressed by the hospitality extended to us by Karim and his team. From the pick up arranged by the Riad to the discussions about where to go for dinner, the tips for the visits and the breakfasts and sundowners on the roof-terrasse - all was flawless. A great place close to everything with a personal touch. Thank you Karim, we don't need not to search any further for a perfect stay in Marrakech! You will see us again!
We booked this Riad for a family reunion and celbration. The manager, Karim and all his team went out of their way to make out stay an memorable weekend with amazing, services, delicious breakfast and dinners. The fireplace and salon were very lovely and created a real cozy atmosphere and the the interior garden and seating areas are just perfect durning the day. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and comfortable and I love the subtle decoration with neutral colors and simple furniture. Loved the night lightings and soft music. The rooftop was amazing too where you can enjoy a sun bath or just a nice drink or cup of tea while watching the sunset over the old medina. We just loved it and defiantly recommend it for family or couple retreat.
I booked at fairly short notice and it was my riad of choice that was full that recommended Talaa 12. I called and from the very beginning, I was so so impressed with the service received, in particular from Karim. He is the soul of this place, terrific service, responsive helpful, with "all can do" attitude. They were too full for the two extra nights we were looking for, so Karim went out of his way to get us into Talaa's sister property, the beautiful Palais Paysan in the countryside overlooking the Atlas Mountains (which was terrific, see separate review). He liaised with the other hotel, got it all organised and at good rate for us, so the whole thing was sorted, including taxis. We organised our guide, taxi transfers, everything through Karim. He was brilliant. Special mention also goes to Idris, whose service was impeccable, including at breakfast on their terrific roof terrace. Beautiful rooms, gorgeous gardens, roof terrace with a view to die for, super clean, amazing riad, with fabulous location just at the door of the Medina, but it is the service that is the highlight for me. Highly highly recommended.
We had a wonderfull time at the Riad. Karim and his team were just perfect. We loved the old medina location. The room was very cosy & spacious. The rooftop with the Atlas view... that's how we start 2017!!!
This very private riad hotel, to me, was a sanctuary for my soul and for my eyes. With the monochromatic color scheme of white, grey, and neutral, the interiors of this riad were beautifully and professionally designed without been obvious. Tranquility filled the air, no matter where you go, whether you are reading in a cushy sofa in the lounge, or web surfing with the sound of water fountain under the orange bloosoms, or dozing in the white canvas Berber tent on the roof top. My friend and I stayed in a deluxe suite for three nights. We rarely saw other people, except for the occasional hotel people who would ask you if anything they could do for us. The room was very spacial and, again, was beautifully decorated in the minimalism style. I couldn't ask more about the hotel location. It is close to many of the town's top sightseeing spots. The whole experience was chic and peaceful. We appreciated the discreet luxury that the hotel provided us.
I visited Marrakech for two “hot” days in August when not a lot of tourists were around. It was very hot and I could not really enjoy the wonderful rooftop terrace during the day. Unfortunately only in the evening but it offers a wonderful view over the medina. My room was spacious and wonderful and offered air conditioning. The lovely breakfast was served directly on the veranda of my room. There is complementary Wi-Fi connection – but rather a slow one. The service was very friendly and helpful. One guy even guided me to Le Jardin in the evening so I would not get lost on my own. The location right next to the museum is another plus. Really helpful for orientation in the medina and its easy to find home. I can highly recommend this heavenly place.
Very cute place hidden in the heart of old Marrakech. Our Morroccan friends recommended we go for a traditional Riad before moving into a hotel in order to get the authentic Morroccan experience and we're glad we listened. With the old souk just at our doorstep, Jama Al Fena a walking distance away, the Museum of Marrakech and the Quranic School also a few mins away it was easy to cover the key places we wanted to see in yhe old town. The rooms were cute and comfy and had so much character. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Sameera also went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and guide us to hidden gems in the area. Overall experience was very homy and personal.
The Talaa 12 is beautiful, the rehabilitation of the Riad is excellent, the facilities are great. However, there are several issues that need improvement. Even though the responsible is amicable and helpful, comments about nationalities is not appropriate, it gets too personal. The breakfast is not really to standard and everything is charged. The invoice was printed in very bad paper and I never got my change back. Wifi only works in a limited area of the lobby.
excellent location and amazingly helpful staff. this was booked via Mr & Mrs Smith website so we were expecting a very high end Riad which I'm not sure this lived up to, even though we had a great time. For the price and compared to the other Riad we stayed in, we would have expected more choice for breakfast and less noise from within the riad.
