Hotel location is good, just a couple of mins away from Jemaa El Fnaa, walkable street so you have to carry your luggage, be sure to advice the hotel the time of your arrival so they can send you a cart. Rooms are ok, well decorated spacious and clean (though we got some bugs on the room last day). Staff is friendly but there's no one at the front desk, at times only the cook is at the hotel and she only speaks french, that's not good in case you need anything. It's supposed to be a 4 star but that's not 4 star service. No amenities in room. Breakfast is ok, wifi not fast enough, no TV, no coffee maker, no phone, no bath amenities, I didn't even get towels, I had to ask for them. No elevator, and we got no help from staff so we had to carry our luggage upstairs. Pool is not inviting at all, it is clean but is not that great. Overall good comfortable stay but would not recommend it.
Daughter and Father trip for 4 nights. We have done a large portion of other continents but this was our first taste of Africa. Phillipé and staff were wonderful. Always around to help but not in the way. If you can imagine yourself in a maze this is the finish line. The prize. So quiet and peaceful while outside and meters away is the hustle and bustle of everyday street sellers. Goods to be had.....Leather, oils, soaps, clay pots, nuts and metals fashioned into all types of product. This trip was just a taste but I'm willing to go back for a bigger bite !!!
Arriving at Marrakech Menara Airport was an experience in itself. The beauty of the airport was astonishing with its hexagonal patterns. Anyway, the airport transfer was quick and easy and we were quickly on the road. As we got nearer the Jemaa el Fnaa square, the buildings became more and more traditional. The Riad is based in a very peaceful haven despite the noise outside and is a wonderful relief when you get back from the pounding heat of Marrakech. The rooms are spacious and have great air conditioning to cool yourself down. Breakfast in the morning is the full Moroccan deal with freshly baked bread, an assortment of preserves, cake, tea and coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice. It was brilliant not just because of the taste but it powered us on throughout the day. Amongst everything else, the staff couldn't be more helpful. If we ever needed anything, we could rely on them to bring it to us instantly. Their knowledge of the area was excellent and their advice got us to some very enjoyable cafes. With only a 5-10min walk to the main square, it is in a perfect location for everything. As soon as you enter the square, dozens of orange juice stands will await you. The drinks are cheap too! Snake charmers, monkeys, horse and carts: you need to try everything otherwise you won't have the proper experience. The only downside to the hotel was that they didn't tell when they had freshly chlorinated the swimming pool so we had to suffer some displeasure when we got in for a dip but there was nothing else bad so it is still 5 stars for me!
Well, what can I tell u... my first day on Marrakesh was not a good experience, we stayed in the old area near to the medina, awful choice but as we didn't know much about the place we couldn't do much, everyone wants to rip you off (charge you more for everything) when you want to buy something it is horrible to even look at something that you like on the souks (markets) . The hotel was really clean, good staff however almost no one in Marrakesh speaks English, has no Tv, the chemicals of the pool were so strong my eyes got irritated just to be there for 5 min to do a picture, the Riad is really dark witch is good for the heat but is not good if you like light also it was so strange because we bearly saw people around, the bed was comfortable, however if you enjoy details you won't find it here, no one offers you tea when you arrive or something extra you could expect, about Marrakesh I will recommend you look on trip advisor before you book a tour , Almost NO One accepts American Express so be prepare, visa and martercard or cash it's ok, I wouldn't stay more than 3 days in the city.
The riad is overall a nice one, very well renovated with 2 patios, one with some plants and sitting area and another one with a small swimming pool. The room we had was a family room, with 2 bed rooms which was great for the kids. The breakfast is served late, at 8 and it was difficult for the kids to wait. It wiuld be better to have it earlier. The diner was awesome, great local food done with care. The only drawback is that you have no choice in the menu. However it is very quiet and great for the kids. I liked this riad, the staff is very friendly and organised several excursions for us. Sometimes we were feeling a little bit lonely in the riad. The owner is there sometimes but not much, i would expect'him to be more present and help the customers in the discovery of marrakech.
Excellent staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Welcoming, professional but friendly, knowledgable and gave excellent advice. Rooms were a generous size, spotless and well equipped. Situated in the heart of the medina, a quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle.
The staff service was EXCELLENT! I felt just like at home. Everybody (from the owner, to the receptionist, to the cooking ladies) treated me so nice. They all made me feel comfortable all the time and were always checking on me and asking if I needed anything. They arranged everything including the pickup from the airport, the daytrip to essaouira...I changed my room because I decided to stay more and the staff was so nice moving all my stuff to the new room and organizing them in the new room while I was away. Rooms+bathrooms are amazing, just like I imagined. The pool is stunning, the gardens are beautiful and there is a rooftop with an amazing view of the medina. The location is perfect, everything is so close and walking distance. It´s a 3 minute walk to the main plaza. Definitely coming back here. Thank you Phillipe for the hospitality!
My wife and I spent 2 nights at this beautiful Riad and honestly , it was just mind-blowing .Food was nice, rich with plenty of local flavours, the service from the staff was perfect and the owner, Philippe is such a nice and welcoming person, always ready to give you useful tips on how to discover Marrakech. We are planning to return soon and we have advised all our friends to book this beautiful riad for their trip to Marrakech.HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL MARRAKECH LOVERS!
Charming, traditional, secure and out-of-the-way but really close to the hustle & bustle of the old town. Clean and serene, fresh & hearty breakfast, helpful and friendly staff. Lovely rooftop space to soak up the atmosphere all around. Surprising amount of birdsong. Need a trolley porter to transfer your luggage, as no vehicular access.
Very conveniently located near the central market square, a real charming hotel with very friendly staff. The interior breathes a classical thousand-and-one-night atmosphere with the bourgainvilliers hanging from the roof overlooking the central pool. Kids loved to stay at the pool and enjoyed the discovery of hidden places and corridors. Complementary breakfast was basic but nice. The staff was very helpfull and available at anytime. Definately recommend!
