My husband and I just returned from a fantastic stay in Riad Cocoon. We are adventurous travellers who enjoy a mix of authentic culture while enjoying the comforts of home. Riad Cocoon offered us just that. The boutique accomodation indulges in traditional Moroccan design and decor (with a french twist) while boasting modern luxuries such as a roof top terrace (where they serve a healthy breakfast), an in house hammam (regret not experiencing it), comfortable rooms and high cleaning standards (have in house laundry service). Corinne, the owner of the riad and takes great care of her guests and pays deep attention to detail. She takes pride in her business and it shows. Corinne is a wealth of information and is keen to share her suggestions of how to spend your time in Marrakech based on your interests and comfort level. The staff are professional and very helpful, taking care of your every need. I strongly suggest guests take full advantage of the suggestions made by Corinne and her staff, especially when choosing where to eat. The location of the riad was a bit distant from the main square (15 minute brisk walk), but once you get your bearings and you have downloaded the City2Go app, you can easily find your way around. I personally didn't mind the location as it was close to the souks and museums yet was tucked away in a private corner away from the constant activity of the Medina. Where this riad stood high above other experiences in boutique accommodations was when we discovered my husband was suffering from food poisoning. Although we were checking out of the riad the day he got extremely ill, Corinne and her staff took great care of my husband and made him as comfortable as possible. They went above and beyond to ensure he was well taken care of. For this we were extremely grateful. It is with utmost confidence I recommend Riad Cocoon as a fantastic place to stay while in Marrakech.
This was my first trip to this continent and it couldn't have gone better. Riad Cocoon is certainly not the cheapest (nor the most expensive) option, but in hindsight the best choice for people, who have never been to Marrakech (or Morocco itself) before. Everything was smooth from booking the room to the end of the stay, if you decide to disregard costs and simply enjoy your time in Marrakech - then this is a great way. Corinne, the owner, emails you as soon as possible about your impending stay, and then greets you at the check-in. If you like a familiar atmosphere and be treated not just like another customer, but a guest, then you will find this here. She explained Marrekech 101 with the obligatory mint tea and then showed us to our room, which was the White one. Staying during winter can be cold due to the stones - we did notice that, but the blankets were quite warm, plus you can wrap yourself in the bath robes. The room even has an iPod station with playlist. It's not big, but the room has everything one needs and best of all: is clean! The soap they use is quite nice as well. Breakfast is great and served personally, so you have to wait for 15-20 Minutes, but everything's quite fresh and there's variety - it's a steal! The location is medium-well. It's in the Medina, but in the North. However, it's easy to find and you won't really be lost, if there aren't many people around, it's about a 30minute walk from Djema el-Fna, but longer if it's during the day. Everyone in this hotel is very nice and always tries to help out - regarding anything, so if you come unprepared, don't worry - they'll take care of you.
We had a wonderful stay at the Riad Cocoon. It is a beautiful oasis in the hustle and bustle of the Medina. The staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to ensure that all of our needs were met. Our morning breakfasts on the rooftop were a wonderful way to start each day. Because we arrived early we spent one night in the Simply Red room before transferring to Green Eyes. We found both rooms very comfortable.
Corinne is a lovely host that makes everyone feel special. The Cocoon is a piece of her personality the eclectic mix of French charm smothered with Moroccan humility. Although the room was fairly large, it was however rather cold, especially it being winter. This is more for a summer vacation stay over. The staff are super friendly and the WIFI connection is super fast. Will probably not return but would definitely recommend and do make use of the hammam while there.
Corinne and her staff did a fantastic job from the start. To the beginning we were welcomed with a mince tea and a free upgrade for a better room. She gave us valuable tips for our stay in Marrakech. All of them were fabulous. All the stuff never hesitated to grant our requests. On our first night we had dinner by the fireplace which was very delicious, also the breakfast every day. We also enjoyed the playlists in the room. The location of the riad is fantastic too – it is in the heart of de Medina and you can reach many points of interest by feet.
This was our second visit to stay in cocoon I cannot reccomend this place high enough. The rooms, locaction and staff are all exceptional. Special mention to the owner Corrine for a fantastic personal service. And to Hamsa best Maitre De.
We had great stay, the rooms were very clean and peaceful, Corinne was an amazing host who made us feel welcome from day one, we had dinner the first night we arrived and everything was delicious, the staff is really helpful and attentive, we would be definitely come back to this beautiful riad.
and loved it. Corrine was amazing, we couldn't have asked for a better host, and Hamza and the rest of the staff made sure we felt at home. The city itself can be a little confusing your first time going out, but the staff helped us map out everything and were a huge asset for our entire stay. The rooftop was a great place to unwind after long days, and the location is perfect. We're excited to make a return trip to Morocco in the future so we can come back to the Riad Cocoon.
We had enjoyed our stay at the Cocoon earlier in the year so much that we came back for the New Year. Once again as the front door opens you are welcomed into a Magical and Fascinating World. Corrine, Hamza and Abdul cannot do enough for you to make your stay memorable. from the tremendous breakfast selection served on the roof terrace to the authentic Gala Dinner on New Years Eve we were spoilt, thank you Khadija and the girls. Corrine is a wonderful host, she starts helping and advising you from the minute you book. Ask and she will deliver. The Cocoon is a beautiful, tastefully restored Riad with attention to detail and many personal touches. Thank you and see you soon Debby, Mike, Helen, Kevin, Christine & Brian 😍
