Excellent riad in the Medina

We had a great stay in this Riad! Excellent service all around, from the communication to the airport transfers, receptionist help, breakfast, and cleanliness. Everyone we talked to was very pleasant and the room was just what we needed for a quick visit to Marrakech. Would definitely stay again. Great location in the Medina.

A Post-Colonial Oasis of Pleasure and Fantasy

A French-owned establishment, Riad Ariha in the old medina of Marrakech is an unforgettable oasis if one longs for contemplation, warm hospitality, and sunshine. After knocking the brass handle of the ornately carved black door, Abdo greeted me and led me to a bright and serene courtyard framed by bougainvilleas and shielded by three white fabric panels; a small fountain and pool of water emerged as well. He served me with Moroccan tea and cookies as I wrestled with the next decisions to make: Relaxing or Oriental massage for 60 minutes, Hammam with scrub, or Pedicure—they offer these and many other spa services at the comfort of your room. My exploration of this oasis took me to its roof, passing a lounge upholstered in white. The noon sun made everything exceedingly vivid: the cobalt blue pots, the blue sky above, and the terra cotta dome. But it was my room that told me I had arrived. Wearing my blue caftan and forking my vermicelli with chicken and apricots in bed which they served, the spirit of Henri Matisse's Luxe, Calme et Volupté sums my little oasis in this uncanny post-colonial world of pleasure and fantasy. Riad Ariha is a wonderful place to retreat solo or with dear friends for a night or a week, and Abdo and Khalid will take care of you as soon as you arrive at the Sidi ben Slimane gate of the medina. From there, you meander the cobblestoned alleyways, circumambulating a mosque and passing a hammam and the 17th-century Dar Zellij restaurant on your right. Voila!

Beware!!! Took money for service not provided

We paid 15 euros to Riad Ariha for taxi to airport. Waited for taxi, when it had not arrived 10 minutes after arranged tie, we found another taxi to take us to airport, and of course, needed to pay this driver as he was not affiliated with Riad Ariha. Riad Ariha promised to reimburse us for taxi we paid them for, however, 3 months and over 20 PayPal requests later, still no reimbursement. Poor customer service, dishonest, scam. Have read other reviews with similar issues. Wish I had seen before I gave them my money. Buyer beware!

Fantastic employees and beautiful Raid.

The Raid was perfect and the service was wonderful. The road to the raid can be overwhelming but the staff are more then happy to meet you at the taxis station to walk with you. They also offered us a mobile (cell) phone to contact them if we need anything: overall amazing accommodation

Small riad, a little hard to find

It’s a small riad in Sidi Bin Slimane region of the old town, pretty hard to find in the beginning, you need to work well with the maps. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Abdul is a very kind and thoughtful man, he gave us his umbrella for the rain and he walked us to our taxi at 3 a.m. The accomodation is not the best but it’s very clean and tidy at all times. The water was spilling all over the bathroom floor when we showered, a curtain would work. The breakfast is not very satisfying, I must say. There should be more cheese, both the measure and the variety, some olives and charcuterie might be nice as well. Be sure to plan your stay generously for the length of time you’ll be in Marrakech as they didn’t accept the Expedia price when we had to prolong our stay.

Gorgeous Riad!

Such an amazing Riad, the staff were attentive, friendly, happy to help no matter the time. It is located just outside the main market but not too close that the noise drifts in. Will recommend them a hundred times over. Ensure you eat at least once at the Riad as the home made food is amazing! If you can book the larger rooms, we had the Jacaranda room which was large, spacious comfortable and just amazing!!

From fantasy to reality

I have been in Morroco for first time. Experienced a Muslim culture. All I can say is exellent customer service. This people really care about the safety in a fast place. Food was really good French/Moroccan style. Overall personnel very good, friendly every penny they earn is well paid. Humble people. I would Recommend to anyone who's coming from Canada in terms of English side.

Lovely riad and excellent staff

We stayed at the Riad Ariha last week, the staff are excellent and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. I would recommend eating in as the food is freshly prepared and with fresh produce and was very tasty. I would advise a word of caution, we got lost every time we went out, the riad is located through some very dark walkways and trying to get back leaves you vulnerable. There is always young people who are willing to lead you back for a price and are more than happy to try to take advantage of you. Staff did give us a mobile to call them on if we got lost but we were not able to work it out, ask staff to give you a demonstration. I would also recommend taking something with a GPS and take pictures of your journey as t is easy to get lost Zalhe

A top notch place to spend time in Marrakech

This riad allows for maximal relaxation. It's about ten minute to the entry of the market and a three minute walk through some winding paths from the cab drop off. Breakfast in the courtyard is always good. Ham and cheese sandwich from the kitchen is on point. Staff is helpful and good at communicating. Very accommodating.

Our flights were delayed and canceled and the staff was so helpful and willing to accommodate the changes we had to make. Always quickly available, responded to emails quickly, so helpful!! They gave us a cell phone to use to contact them if we got lost and walked us to the taxi stands. Breakfast was great, the rooftop was perfect. They made he confusing medina hassle free. Could not recommend this riad enough! Thanks for an amazing stay!

Nice, but removed from action

Staff were wonderful, but pick up arranged through hotel never came to get us at airport. Departure was delayed because of roads being re routed because of the king's visit to the city - out of the control of the hotel - but ended the stay a bit frantically.

Comfortable, Clean and Relaxing Hotel

Our stay at Riad Ariha was very comfortable, warm and relaxing. Marrakech was our last stop in Morrocow so we very happy to stay at a clean place. The bathroom expecially very nice. It had a really tall ceiling height with a dome fitted with colourful glass. The hotel staff and very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent too. On the last day we requested them to offer breakfast at 6am and they happily obliged.

Quaint and Friendly Riad

The Riad Ariha is nestled in the streets in the Medina. Upon arrival we were greeted by the guardian of the riad and shown the path from through the corridors to reach the quaint establishment. The walk is about five minutes through narrow streets and passing local establishments and residences. Riad Ariha is a quaint hotel with lots of hospitality. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. I stayed in the Jasmine Room and was very happy with the size, cleanliness, and decor; queen bed, small sofa and chair, accented with lanterns, art, and a fireplace, as well as a large private bathroom. There is also an adorable rooftop for relaxing or reading. The Riad provides meal options; I enjoyed breakfast every morning and one delicious dinner. If you are looking to stay in Medina while visiting Marrakech, I would recommend Riad Ariha.

Excellent riad.

This riad offered great service. The owner contacted you pro-actively to help you get to the riad by offering affording shuttle service. The staff members were amazing, especially Abdul and Khalid. I highly appraise the service of Khalid who deliberately woke up at 5:00 am to prepare breakfast for me. Thumbs up! I also had some warm chit-chat with the owners of the riad which simply made me feel like home. The location of the riad is also good as it is not far away from the medina. Just 10 minutes to walk to La Place. I would definitely return to this riad if I visit Marrakesh again.

Great Riad

Riad Ariha was a beautiful and calm oasis in the center of a bustling city. An excellent alternative to a hotel, the riad was charming and full of character. In addition, it allowed us to stay inside the old city where we could have a true Marrakesh experience. A great location for exploring both the old and new cities. The staff was extremely helpful, welcoming and kind. They lent us a phone to use during our stay in case we had any issues and went out of their way to help us arrange tours, dinner reservations and taxis. The riad was immaculate with simple yet elegant decor. The rooftop patio was a great place to relax at the end of the day. We enjoyed breakfast at the riad every morning of our stay and dined in once in the evening- the beef and plum tagine was excellent. Our room was lovely and both our room and bathroom were spacious. We loved the organic toiletries that were provided. Rooms were equipped with A/C and WiFi. As with any location within the Medina, the riad can be difficult to find for the first time. We highly recommend the airport transfer to make for a stress-free arrival.

Nice riad in excellent location

This riad is excellently located in the medina. Good access to key areas. Very clean, good size rooms and air conditioned. An extremely friendly staff who arranged tours for us and overall very helpful and accommodating. Essential when you have a major language issue. Would have no problem in recommending this riad to travelers to Marrakech.
