We booked this hotel hoping for a relaxing weekend in marrakesh after a trip to essaouira. What we got is a five-star headache with regular trips to the reception desk with our complaints. Maybe the fact that it was heavily discounted on should have levelled our expectations but any hotel branded as a five star hotel should reflect a minimum level of service. The staff was unresponsive or seemed genuinely unconcerned. This list is definitely not exhaustive: (1) Very cold welcome on arrival, staff just wanted to settle payment, felt more like closing a transaction rather than 'i am here at the hotel and can relax going forward' moment. Also she confirmed our two rooms were adjacent when clearly there was a room in between us! (2) We requested an iron from housekeeping, called back on two occasions to finally tell us there is no iron! the situation repeats itself the next day. (3) Safe broken in both rooms, in one room the wardrobe and the drawer would open at the same time! hair dryer stops working after some time. (4) Housekeeping picks up towels at 10 am and never returns them. We had to ask twice at reception so that we could take our showers during the day. On one occasion, she replaced only one when there were two persons in the rooms. I called reception five times regarding this matter. (5) The most disagreeable breakfast experience. Definitely a double standard at breakfast with some people getting served faster and better. I waited for 15 mins for a coffee until i had to go up to the staff and she shoved the coffee pot in my hand. When my friends came down, it was another challenge to get cups and cutlery for them. The most amazing thing was despite our numerous complaints, all we got was a half-hearted apology with the woman yelling at housekeeping for our benefit when clearly there is a management issue. The least i was expecting was a complimentary bottle of water since it mentioned amenities such as kettle on my reservation and i never saw them. To sum up, we had a stressful experience and definitely did not get that home away from home experience you are supposed to get at a five star hotel. Disappointing.

We had booked this hotel last minute at a good price £250 for 4 nights so to be fair we were not expecting the 5* service it was advertised at and we were not wrong. We arrived at what seems and impressive facade and reception to a receptionist who checked us in and had our bags whisked away (oh and every person knows the word tip which was asked for a number of times) and we made our way through the equally impressive halls and courtyard to our room with twin beds a decent sized bathroom and balcony. We had all inclusive and promptly found the bar which had a reduced selection which was part of the all inclusive (fairly normal) but an interesting selection of cocktails which we made our way through one by one - by accident mainly as I don't think on our stay we actually received the drink we ordered (except for the lady bar man who made the best cocktails) The buffet was a combination of local cuisine and French so expect lots of pastries, tagines (not real raging just presented in the pot - believe me real tagine taste so much different and melts in your mouth), variety of salads which had unidentifiable ingredients. I have a number of allergies which the staff were able to accommodate - after some negotiation with the hotel manager who was not impressed that his staff had declined my earlier requests. The spa was very good and we had a hamman on our first day. The reason the hotel isn't 5* is that it is very tired - floor tiles that have come away, bathroom fixtures that don't actually attach to anything, lights that don't work - in darkness in the halls and outside dinning area - whilst some of the staff were very helpful some actually would make up there own rules on service - such as the pool side bar and cafe is supposed to be open until 6 and on more then one occasion the staff tried to close it early or refused service as early as 4:30 on one occasion and the children are literally allowed to do anything including boys who would quite literally drop their pants and pee in the bush next to your sun lounger and when you object we were asked by the staff not to say anything as it was the hotel owners family!!!! Not impressed at that. So in all this hotel and our stay were nice but not deserving of the 5* it advertises.

I'm writing this review whilst sat in the lobby of the Hotel Les Jardins de l'Agdal. I can't fault the hotel for location and the actual building but what spoils this place is the staff. The staff really let this place down. There are two types of staff here, the first is they've only started today and haven't got a clue what to do or say. The second is the type that every customer is an irritant spoiling their day. The food looks amazing on the self serve buffet but I don't know what candles they use to keep it warm but everything is only just lukewarm. Try complaining and you'll be faced with the second type of staff, totally irritated by your presence. Marrakech is a wonderful place to visit but I think this hotel is being very unpretentious at claiming to be a five star.

Me & my wife decided to book this hotel for a weeks stay first thing I would point out is the girl at reception was very polite and helpful the rooms are ok but no way is this a 5***** hotel the breakfast is first come first serve when it’s gone it’s gone we spent breakfast swatting wasps and shoeing cats the rooms could do with a bit of a fresh up the pool area is spacious and plenty of sun beds available the spa area is a bit of a ripoff considering it’s part of the hotel complex 15 Euro for half hour sauna bit pricey we had buffet one night and to be honest was very disappointed your better off ordering a Pizza Hut delivery to your room there’s a taxi rank opposite hotel but get ready to barter it’s 50 dirhams to town but if you come to morocco you probably know you got to barter for everything

The hotel facilities are new and very nice. Good location, 10 minutes from the airport and 7 minutes from downtown. The food was not great, and the service was a little slow, but it was still a nice experience. The swimming pool was a great place to hang out. All the staff speak French and some spoke English.

I arrived with a group of 26 people and check in was a breeze thanks to our tour guide. One improvement was we had to show them our luggage and their system to get luggage to the right room was to use a piece of tape and write your room number. #1 your room key works you just have to place it in very slowly and remove it very slowly to open your door. This baffled me for almost 20 minutes The room was incredible. The separate water room and shower was great and allows 2 people to handle their business without getting in anyone's way. The bed was very comfortable and the lounge are was nice. The balcony was inviting and looked out onto the incredible pool area. I visited the spa and really enjoyed a 4 hand massage for $75! Well worth it Although the pool was beautiful I didn't get a chance to take a dip as there was some thunder after my massage. The grounds are breathe taking. The hotel is really close to the Medina and a taxi cost 50 Dhr before 8 pm. The customer service at the hotel was not great - I called for a iron one night and never received it and another night I called for a clogged shower 2 nights - Each call took almost an hour to get someone to the room. I would recommend this hotel

Bathrooms are clean and efficient. TV did not work in one of the rooms and WiFi was not the strongest either. Salon would not accept appointments past certain hour in the day. Still, was in a great location near the Médina and restaurants. In addition, food was available in case you decided to stay in for the night.

I stayed here for business purpose for 1 week and found everything nice the rooms the gym and all facilities. What was though excellent and outstanding about this hotel stay was my interaction with the hotel staff. This hotel has by far the best, caring and most friendly staff I have ever come across- and I travel too much! From reception to house keeping- everyone makes you feel at home. They have definitely one of the finest F & B staff and the most caring one!! Hussein, FatimaZahra , Mosif, Naima- all wonderful people- great to talk to. They all made my stay here memorable and will be my only reason to come back again!! 7 stars to a very caring hotel staff...

We were having a short break for my partners birthday, Hotel was first class, the room was big and airy, wished we had a room over looking the pool rather than the road at the back, still you only sleep there, food again was brilliant, more than enough to eat, bar had a very go selection for beer, found a really nice local beer. As we were out of season the pool area was nearly empty, I enjoyed a swim each day, the hotel staff when they found out it was my partners birthday had a small cake made with her name "Lorraine" and happy birthday written and a few came out and sung happy birthday which really made her evening. If we every go back we would stop there anagin.
