accommodation, dinner and breakfast (American style) and no cooked breakfast very average, not much choice. nothing exciting. Service a lot to desire. Standard. In general an average budget hotel. Nothing much to add.
We were a group of eight who stayed two nights at Hotel Chems, the last day four of us noticed we were missing money. Each of us had an envelope with the money in our bags at the hotel room, in total it was more than 300 euros. When we asked to speak with the manager they said he wasn’t there, when we asked what was the managers name the receptionist said he didn’t know his last name. They also said that the cleaning ladies did not go into our room even though when we arrived the day before our beds were made and we had new towels. On the other hand, breakfast sucks and they have the worst pillows.
We stayed two nights with some friends while visiting Marrakesh and he day we left we noticed a few of us were missing money from our travel wallets. I lost 50 Euros and my girlfriend (in the same room) was stolen 100 euros. In other friends room they were also stolen more cash. I went to the reception to talk with the manager and make a complaint and they first told me is impossible because the day before they didn’t do any cleaning in the rooms. First mistake. They did the cleaning because the room was perfect when we arrived. Second, he says if we didn’t put it in the safe and told the hotel what was in the safe they wouldn’t do anything. At the end the say they will check the cameras when he manager arrives (supposedly 10am) but I don’t believe a thing they said now. Don’t let them steal from you; we lost half of our savings for the vacations in front of our face.
I went with my friends. For a day we left our wallets in our bags inside the room and did not use the safe since it did not work. The next morning we realized we were missing over 350 euros and the hotel claimed they wouldn’t respond since we did not “declare in the check-in the amount of money we would leave in the rooms”. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TO STAY THERE. They STOLE MONEY shamelessly and didn’t even pretend to care about it.
The hotel is not that bad, to be honest, the good thing about it is that it's near Jamaa Al Fanaa, the staff are friendly, the food is not that bad, and in general a clean place. The ugliest part of the stay: 1. it's near the koutchi (horses stop) so you can imagine how awful the smell is when going to the hotel. 2. Toilets needs to be renewed, but they are acceptable 3. The Wifi connection suck, and never worked with me but if we take into consideration the paid amount vs. the hotel, you will find that it's a good deal..
Room was small but adequate, bed was good and firm, sheets and pillows were lovely and soft, towels were so soft. Good local cuisine for the evening buffet, breakfast was quite limited. Good location, only a 10 minute walk from Jamma n'fna.
We were the first to enter for the hot buffet so there is no reason why the food was only lukewarm which was so disappointing The bar service was very slow and the one bartender did not appear to be concerned people were waiting. We did not find any free WiFi. The only thing of use here was the exchange rate was reasonable at 12.11 to the Uk pound.
The hotel has a garden, swimming pool and seating area outside, both from the restaurant and on the garden itself. Breakfast, meal and restaurant area was a bit of a disappointment, there wasn't much variety and it didn't look very appealing. The hotel is OK, though it looks a bit outdated. It's close to the city (within a short walking distance) and the mosque and its gardens.
Perfect Location close to the famous hotel Mamonia not far from Koutobia gardens and the Jamaa fenaa, very calm room are clean, free parking. the breakfast was OK. The reception was a bit could but the rest of stuff was very welcoming.
Could need a renovation of both the place and the staff. A few nice people working there, but the majority - especially in the restaurant - could need a huge improvement in attitude. The food was not good, and the selection even worse - whatever you do, if you stay here, eat out instead - it is much better and a lot cheaper!
