Got an incredible deal with breakfast included and the third night for free. Easy parking at the back of the hotel, good WiFi in the room, decent bed, reasonable breakfast. On a less positive note: dogs, and I mean really huge and scary dogs, are allowed in the hotel, the sound of the slamming of the fire doors in the corridors is just not acceptable and the rooms are clean but very tired.
This is 3 large blocks in a housing estate just a few kilometres outside Epernay town centre. There is no kettle, complimentary coffee or tea. They do provide plates, cutlery and pots plus champagne glasses on request. We booked a duplex which offered a bedroom, sitting room with a kitchen - microwave and 2 hot rings and a separate bathroom. The bathroom offered us a medium size towel each and a soap dispenser. However, we paid less than €90 for one night and the place is relatively clean and the receptionist helpful. There are no restaurant but they do serve breakfast for an extra charge and the bar sells bottles of champagne.
stayed in a studio for 3 nights. The surrandings are beautiful and the 3 houses very nice to look at.It is also very quiet so we could sleep with an open window. What we didn't like is that when you come to an appartment hotel with a kitchenette you have to pay extra (3 euros) for the equipment. We also had a message that was not given to us at arrival.
We were going to be late for the window for checking in, so we called the hotel, who gave us a code to get into the hotel and safe. Unfortunately, the safe broke when we tried to access it to retrieve our room key. There was not a single living soul to help in this situation. We tried to call the international number, but they weren't helpful. My friend was finally able to crack the safe (a new skill she has now acquired ) and get the key. In a small town, we figured we'd have to sleep the night in the car. I feel there should be someone available for emergency situations such as this. Everything was completely locked up. There wasn't even a sofa to sit on or bathroom to access, during our 30 minute struggle with the safe. Once we did get to our room it was fine for one night...no frills but clean and the beds were comfortable. Did like the free parking. Epernay is a beautiful place.
Good position, price and the cordiality of the reception. Unfortunately, I can not say the same to the housekeeper, that when we arrived too early for check-in, she treats us very badly. Puffing and complaining with us.
We stayed here as a family of 4 (2a2c) as an overnight stop. It was fine for what we needed it for - a place to sleep. The interior of the building is vey utilitarian and felt "military", but was clean and neat. We had a 2-room unit which meant we had separate sleeping areas. My husband appreciated having the tv in our bedroom rather than the "living" area where our sons were sleeping. The views are nice and there is a children's play area in the green in front of the hotel. It's quite far out of the centre of this pretty town - I'd say 20-25 minute walk so you'd need a car or taxi if that doesn't work for you. Nowhere to eat nearby but no an issue for us as we had food supplies with us. The kitchenette was helpful as as were able to refrigerate the contents of our cooler bags overnight and refreeze the ice bricks. There was no kitchenware (which could be hired for €3 pp) but as we'd been on a camping holiday, we had a few bits that helped. If we'd stayed for more than 1 night, we might have considered hiring these. At €10pp for breakfast, it was quite prices for what it was but luckily there was no charge for our children so that made it a little more reasonable, and we were only there 1 night. The check-in staff were very pleasant.
A bit out of the city center but easy to reach by car. Rooms are spacious and clean but the furniture is very basic. Bed is small but the mattress was of good sleeping quality. We had a studio with kitchenette but without anything in the kitchen. Bathroom was not small and clean. No airco. Basic reception with a long wait to check out (only one staff member, very friendly, and many customers checking out.
Made a last minute booking for three nights in Epernay and this was practically the only availability. The price was really reasonable and location excellent for visiting the area. Especially so if traveling with your own car, as there is a large parking area. A party of six, we all had apartments, with a bedroom, living room and a kitchenette (using only the refrigerator). One room could have accommodated 4 people so it is really good value. Everything was clean, nothing fancy but ok. We had a very tight schedule each day, so the place was needed for sleeping only and it did serve that purpose well. I had a beautiful view to the vineyards. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, boiled eggs, ham and cold cuts, good bread and pastry, juices etc, and coffee machine used coffee beans. It was also possible to buy a bottle of champagne for the reception for breakfast. So for the money spent, this was a good choice. The staff was friendly and helpful. All the restaurants are in the center of Epernay, we took a taxi there and walked back (approx. 25 minutes), really quiet and beautiful place, nice walk.
We were delighted to be back in Epernay but sadly made a huge mistake booking this accommodation. Description and photo on Booking.com was far from reality. We were three buildings away from the main reception and breakfast area. No kettle although a kitchenette but no glasses or plates or cutlery. No reliable wifi. No comfort although the name suggests there may be some! Our worst accommodation during our two weeks in France and Switzerland. We do not recommend this accommodation
If you want a room for a cheap price, there is no better in the area. The buildings are old military buildings, completely restore and very clean. The location is superb overlooking the champagne fields. A bed, a bathroom and a kitchenette is what you get ! No more, no less. Good for a cheap stay in the heart of Champagne.
