hotel is everything we asked for and more, lovely room (loads of space) staff where brilliant, couldnt be happier, Kadir (the australian) at the pool bar was awesome, really helpful, really chatty and always willing to go that extra mile to make sure everyone was happy and content, top bloke and all round a top stay, would definately return.

This is the second time I have been to this hotel, I had a lovely time again, the room we were given was of a good size, every time I requested something via the phone they were up at the room very quickly. Hotel is beautifully set with your own little bit of the beach. I have to say that this year, the bar staff around the pool were absolutely awful. (Apart from the Australian guy, he's new and can actually speak English) they all seem to pander to the Russian guests and bend over backwards for them and don't worry about anyone else. You have buttons on your sunbeds to press when you want something, ours clearly worked as it was replaced and over the two weeks we were there we never once got seen to. They're English is terrible , I ordered a water and ended up with a mojito. None of them look like they can be bothered. The lifeguard is called mursel, he is very friendly and gets a lot of hassle for things he can't control. While we were there, there was a child running, he blew his whistle several times and told him to stop, the child ignored him and consequently fell and cut his head. I could see the management and mother of the child scowling at mursel. It's not his fault! The food was of a very high standard and there is a big selection. Our room was clean and the made was very friendly, I have to say though I don't think the maids actually use any cleaning products around the sink as I had shaving hairs round the top of the sink a few days later. I think they just change the beds and mop the floors. The entertainment team were very good and friendly, sometimes too friendly. They need to leave people alone at mealtimes. Several occasions I see them interrupting people at meal times and sitting with them. People clearly wanted to be left alone. The reception staff weren't exactly helpful and again just looked like they couldn't be bothered at times. They're English again, isn't the best. The hotel camera guys are very nice and polite, they also have a cat called simba who I think is now a resident. Be sure to give him a stroke :) overall it was an enjoyable stay but there is defiantly room for improvement before i would think about coming back here for a third stay. Particularly with the waiting staff round the pool.

Holidays are personal to the individual so where possible we just write exactly what we saw and experienced with top tips at the end. First impressions, very nice. The reception is very large and all marble, a nice wow factor when you enter. We was met and everything explained before being shown where our room was. The hotel has a large open reception with a lounge bar, its own shopping arcade (about 5 shops), a Gym, Spa, ATM and a large indoor swimming pool. The room was large enough with a sea view although if you find yourself being on the first two floors, you will only get a glimpse of it due to the high palm trees around the pool side so having paid extra for this view it might be worth mentioning you do not want to be on the first two floors. Rooms come with standard free aircon, tea and coffee facilities (powdered milk only), a hairdryer and a safe. The mini bar will cost you if you use it, there is little room to put any of your own stuff inside (e.g milk). Electricity is 220 volt, two pin plugs similar to Germany. Room service is done everyday and they really try not to disturb you at all, little things kept getting missed on ours e.g. No bath towels one day, no tea the next. A quick chat to reception and it's instantly sorted. Reception staff were really good, very polite and helpful and sorted any issues we had straight away. The grounds - The pool is quite large with two Jacuzzis, a water slide and a part where you get pushed around by a jet current which is great fun. There are Plenty of parasols and sun beds which are all free. All the parasols have a buzzer on them for bar service from the poolside bar which is pretty cool. Kadir was one of the pool waiters and as well as speaking Turkish he's spent quite a few years in Australia so not only has the accent but he speaks fluent English which is a massive bonus. We found there was a common theme of people saying there weren't enough English speaking staff, or that they did not understand what you were saying. Kadir was so helpful so if you have any issues, he's the man to go to. You can get a bucket of ice from the pool bar to put your water/drinks in. Beach towels are obtained with your towel cards from a hut at the poolside so no need to bring towels. You can also sunbath in the plenty of open spaces between the pool and the beach where some cool shade is offered by the trees. The hotel has its own private beach and just like the poolside it has lots of sun beds etc and a beach bar and restaurant. We walked the length of the beach one day and with out a doubt there was only one other hotel that looked anywhere near as nice as this one. Mosel, The life guard was a very friendly and helpful guy and again always willing to help you out. Both the pool and beach bar have entertainment on every night. The pool bar has entertainment on throughout the day with a really great bunch of guys who entertain everyone all day long with all sorts of water activities e.g. water polo. We liked the beach bar because it had bands and singers on, they were not too loud and most were very good. The hotel has security guards who patrol the grounds. Drinks - considering it is a five star hotel, drinks are on par with downtown back home. cocktails will cost you the equivalent of £5 - £6 , beer if local is £3:50 for a small bottle 33l to £5 for a large one (just shy of a pint), to something like a bottle of becks/corona at £4.50. Wine is £4 for a small glass. Soft drinks vary but on average are £2:50. Ordering drinks can be problematic, especially if you come off the main menu which we did with not many staff speaking or understanding English. We was going to upgrade until we tasted the red wine, all four were awful, each to their own and all that. All wine and spirits are measured out so don't expect your cocktails to be strong. Water is £1 for a large bottle but you can grab a free one at any meal time. The bars seem to differ, for example the lounge bar only sells bottled beer, the pool bar sells a large beer which is short of a pint and the beach bar sells pints which are cheaper than the pool bar!! Food - the main serving area is down stairs with seating available both inside and outside. Inside has a very large selection of mainly cold dishes and salads. Outside they cook hot food. It's all very well presented, always topped up and we thought fantastic. We tried everything whilst we were there, when in Rome and all that. Letting it down is the following, other hotels we have stayed at you get individually seated for dinner and your drink order is taken before they show you to the food, it adds a nice classy touch. Here it's a free for all and you have to grab someone in order to get a drink because there simply isn't enough staff on, those that are on are frantically working to clean the place. There is a dress code but everyone simply wears what they like because it is not enforced, at dinner this is off putting when someone is in flip flops and a vest which they have clearly worn all day at the poolside. Seating people would not only allow them to enforce the dress code but at the same time is adding a nice personal touch. The beach bar/restaurant was never full and is a nice touch if you are on the beach. The food is brought from the hotel to it if you order anything. We wrote a separate review for the steak bar , which we gave 5 stars for and visited twice. Everything can be charged to your room using your room cards. Overall - it's a very nice hotel that is very clean and tidy. The grounds and location is great and if you take a boat trip you will see all the other hotels along the beach, this one really does stand out. The staff are all very polite and very friendly. Quite a few struggle to understand English which at times is very funny but at others can be a bit annoying especially considering the amount of English speaking guest who stay there. It is clear they are short staffed and this might be what lets the hotel down slightly, the staff are all too busy cleaning up to attend to you. The hotel was not full and I do think if it had of been, they would have really struggled to cope. Food is outstanding and there is always plenty of it. Top tips - Get your visa before you travel, it costs more at the airport (£20). Bring English currency, its widely accepted and you get a better exchange rate. Electricity is 220 volts (two pin plug). No need for beach towels they supply them so saves you luggage weight. Use the buzzers on the parasols, that's what they have been put in there for. Outside the hotel, most the Turkish people you will meet speak very good English, they are very friendly and polite so try not to take offense if it appears they are being too much in your face, they really are just being friendly. A polite "we will come here next time" normally does the trick. Remember a holiday is what you make it, so make it a good time and enjoy yourselves. Leaving the hotel either for a walk along the beach or the main street and you will find endless restaurants and shops. It's a good 45 minute walk to get to the old town where the harbour is. You will get hassled all along the route with people trying to get you to come inside, whilst they are very polite and only doing their job, it becomes annoying after a while if you don't like this sort of thing. We have been to Egypt before so this paled into insignificance. A simple smile and 'no thanks maybe next time' normally does the trick. To the restaurants if you say "we have already eaten" it normally gets you a response of how about just a drink then. All seem to sell exactly the same things and prices are pretty much the same. There is endless shops selling fake clothing at very cheap prices, all seem to be of good quality though so if they only lasted you for the holiday you would get your money's worth. FOOD - again all are selling exactly the same things and prices pretty much the same. You can get a full English breakfast for £2, lunch for about £7 and dinner for about £12. To give you an idea, steak on average is about 50TL (just over a tenner). We ate in quite a few different places and tried all sorts, we didn't have a bad thing to say about any of them. The food and service was great and the people all really friendly. DRINKS - In general we found alcohol seems to be the same price through out Marmaris, most bars and restaurants are the same price as the five star hotels which seems a little bizarre as it's hardly going to draw people out of them. The closer you get towards the harbour, the slightly cheaper the drinks start to become and the more the place starts to look like something you have seen on TV where it's packed full of people just wanting to get drunk and party. We did not go that far down. Don't be fooled by the buy one get one free, these cocktails tend to be half the size. We went into the supermarket and found even there red wine costs that same price as in the hotels, we did not check out the rest of spirits.

This hotel was a wonderful place to stay for a family. We were given an interconnecting room as we have 2 children. The rooms were very nice and very clean. The beds are so comfortable. Nice size balcony with beautiful views. Our package included breakfast and dinner and all I can say is WOW. The food was spectacular. Dinner was different every night and full of flavour. Also there was beautiful live music every night which really added to a great atmosphere. And the dessert bar was amazing!! The pool has a slide for the kids and the beach is just a few steps away with day beds and you can order food and drinks from the comfort of your chair. The staff were all very friendly and in particular Khadir the pool waiter who is just a great person, very friendly, hospitable and accomodating. The hotel has a fantastic entertainment team. Wow these guys are so good at what they do. They treat you like a life long friend and arrange activities and entertainment to fill up the whole day. We loved our stay at D Grand Azur and would highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Marmaris.

Stayed here for ten days with two other couples.. Pros Smooth check in..friendly reception staff..even though it was 2 am Rooms were over looking the car park but then we booked the promo rate so we sort of expected that..the bed was huge and probably the most comfortable bed we have ever had in any hotel..along with the pillows..lots of room in the wardrobe and enough coat hangers..not enough drawer space for us but we found other places to put things..quite a few British tv channels and two film channels to watch while getting ready to go out or late at night. Bathroom was decent and shower has over head rain shower as well as a hand held shower attachment..be careful it's not pointing the wrong way when you turn it on our you'll shower the bathroom instead. Towels provided and changed regularly...tea, coffee and kettle provided and replenished daily. We were half board and found the breakfast was great..had everything you may require..plus an egg station..pot of tea was a little hard to come by and we had to ask a couple of times most mornings and then ask for milk as they didn't always bring that. The weekend we arrived was Eid and the hotel was fairly busy and there seemed to be a lot of staff around however once these guests had left the staffing was a lot less and it was a little hard to get their attention for drinks etc. The evening meal had lots of variety and the desserts were lovely..I'm sure most people would find something they would like..staff were often busy clearing the huge amount of wasted food that people would take and not eat..I don't understand why they take ten rolls and only eat two..anyway..food is good and the service is ok just not enough staff at times...not their fault. The pool is lovely..good temp and very clean..plenty of room for all..there are two Jacuzzis and small rapids and slide for the children. Plenty of sunbeds and waiter service to the bed. My only criticism is the loudmusic around the pool..it's my bug bear and a personal preference..I want to relax and if I want to listen to music I'll listen to my own..the last few days they turned it down and that was much better. There is a pool side bar for drinks and snacks. Beach is just at the bottom of the gardens and was probably the best one along this part of the area..nice jetty to sit out on as well. Nice beach bar where we regularly confused the staff as we charged our drinks to three different rooms..staff were friendly and patient thank goodness. Lovely roof top bar and restaurant and great cocktails..a little more expensive but totally worth it. I can't fault the hotel at all other than the pool music bit that is just my preference and doesn't detract from how lovely the hotel is. We didn't watch any entertainment as we ventured out most nights..I really don't like marmaris but loved ichmelar so went there a couple of nights by taxi (20 lira) also boat trip to the only market left in Turnaruc..don't bother with the market (so hot and so much hassle) just use the little town there..so pretty and quaint..thinking of staying there next year. You can get a boat or go to the bars by going out of the hotel on the beach side and walking along the prom. Takes about 25 mins to get to the start of marmaris..the marina is worth a visit and is very pretty but the rest of it is loud and in your face..however I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel again..enjoy 😁

We have stayed at this hotel many times and it is the best hotel in Marmaris. It speaks for itself - there are so many repeat guests every time we have stayed, this surely confirms what a brilliant hotel this is!! It continues to maintain high standards in all areas. The rooms are very clean with huge comfortable beds, linen changed every day. The sea view rooms are spectacular......no better view in Marmaris. Everywhere is kept very tidy and spotless, this includes the Pool area, gardens and beach. Food is always freshly cooked and presented beautifully. The staff are exceptional - especially METIN the bar manager, he is hard working, friendly, helpful, and fun to be around! The General manager Korhan Kelebek does an amazing job. Also thanks to Furkan Askovic the Front Office manager for his kindness. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to our friends and family. I must add that the hotel has a high presence of security so you always feel safe. Looking forward to our return later in the year.

We have stayed at The D before and our family and friends have also, many times. Sadly, this time we were disappointed by several things. Firstly the room we given was extremely small (one chair and not enough space for two peoples clothes). We asked for a change of room and were told tere were no other rooms. Two and a half hours later and telling the hotel that we could see on their website that there were other rooms, we were moved but this took a very very long time and actually spoiled our stay. Second concern was that there were not enough waiting staff providing drinks, we waited half an hour to have a drink brought to us. Third disappointment was that as we left, no one helped us oput the baggage into our car or said goodbye! We had spent a lot of money at the hotel (eating etc) and this lack of regard made us feel unlikely to return. On a positive note, a visiting manager from another hotel in their group, from Rome, named Franscisco was so helpful and polite and charming that he made us want to visit his hotel as respect for guests appeared 100 percent. Several guest we spoke to who know this hotel well also felt the service had sadly deteriorated. Location and the building is of course beautiful but not if you have a very tiny room without a balcony and are then kept until 4.30 to get into your room! .

This beautiful hotel lived up to its 5 start rating. The rooms, service, cleanliness and particularly the food were all excellent. The location was good, with about a 20 minute beach front walk to the centre of Marmaris, otherwise easy to catch local transport. The hotel was around a third full which is apparently unusual but I suppose that meant the service we received was even better. However, it made me really irritated that we paid an extra £200 to get a room with a sea view (which was wonderful) for our 10 days and due to a late flight, a further £70 to keep our room until the evening. When the hotel was quiet and rooms were available, I feel it would have been excellent customer service to wave these additional costs. Also, on check out we were advised that we had a bill for a couple of things from the minibar and this was completely inaccurate. They did not force the issue though and we didn't pay for anything. All that being said I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is amazing! Buffet diverse and changes every day. All food so fresh. So many staff all helpful especially thanks to friendly Kadir at the pool bar! Loved the gym and spa facilities. Best holiday ever!

The hotel is stunning and has an amazing ambience to it. The scenery from the hotel beach bar is beautiful and is less than a 10 second walk from the hotel, which is accompanied by the close beach. The rooms were perfect and the air conditioning was a life-saver. The swimming pool was great fun and the slide added to the enjoyment and smiles. The life guard was easy to get along with and conversed well with all those staying at the hotel. The food at the hotel was very nice, especially at dinner which was always accompanied by water. The reps who organised the activities within the hotel were one of the nicest groups of people to get along and relax with. The competitive side of all of those who get involved in the activities will come out. The best part of the holiday had to be becoming closer to the people due to the continuous involvement of activities such as: Water-Polo, Water Volleyball, Football and even an old fashioned french game. The music played is perfect and plays new tunes which is a mixture of English and Turkish songs; the DJ who plays the music never fails to keep the party going. The hotel was that good that we may book the same country, hotel but more days. Lastly, the hotel works well for anyone it balances out all requirements necessary and even has specific nights which have acts put on such as: Bingo, Belly Dancers, Acrobatics and many more. The food supplied by the pool bar is extremely nice and the staff who serve are lovely. Definitely a hotel to have on your list if you are going to Marmaris.
