A fantastic hotel with its own beach, great food and service. The roof steak bar is particularly good with perfect food at a reasonable price and a view to die for. The sea-facing suite was spacious, clean and comfortable. A wide range of food on offer for both breakfast and dinner in the ground floor restaurant. Both the pool and beach bars are excellent. Taxi rank directly outside and restaurants, shops and bars just across the road. We would definitely stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Reading some of the less favourable reviews below, I can only assume that the reviewers have got the wrong hotel or are just extremely miserable people, especially the woman who banged on about 'hundreds of cats'. We counted five and they were no bother at all.
This was our first time staying at the Grand Azur and we were not disappointed. There were a couple of incidents; Firstly arrived and shown to a twin room - booked a double. Secondly; air conditioning wasn't working. However, both these points were answered immediately with us changing rooms not once but twice. Normally, we would be rather annoyed at the inconvenience of having to move for a third time but it was so warm we just wanted a room with air conditioning. The manager who we spoke to, unfortunately we did not take his card, changed our rooms, apologised profusely and gave us a key to another room. What the manager did not tell us is that he had upgraded our room to a suite. The view was amazing; facilities amazing; experience amazing! We cannot thank the manager enough! We spoke with the General Manager, Korhan Kelebek and advised him of how fantastic our holiday in the hotel had been. How both incidents had been dealt with exceptionally well and how thankful we were for being given such an amazing room. Would love to stay in the suite again but probably cant afford it so for us it was an amazing treat. The hotel really is just beautiful, very quiet at the moment but don't let that put you off. Service is spot on, food is great, everywhere is clean and tidy. The evening entertainment was exceptional. We have been to Marmaris over 15 times and never encountered entertainment quite so professional and enjoyable. The beach bar is a great place for lunch (we ate there every day) and in the evening there is a live band. The bands are really good! Not your usual 2nd rate offering at lesser hotels. We opted for the half board option and can honestly say there was plenty of choice in the buffet with freshly cooked meat always available! Really enjoyed our holiday at the Grand Azur.
The hotel, room and surrounding areas are wonderful. Excellent private beach with nicely spaced sun beds. The rooms are large; comfy and clean. We stayed in a sea view room and the view was stunning. The food was also great, plenty of choice and all appeared to be fresh. Negatives are: The restaurant staff are not very attentive: it was quiet when we stayed at the hotel but the waiting staff did not have control of the situation; tables were not set up, nobody regularly asking for drinks or taking plates away in a timely manner. Cats: as a five star hotel, I do not feel it is appropriate for cats to be constantly near your table whilst you are eating.
Hotel is lovely, plenty of sun beds both around the pool and on the private beach. Food (half board) is very nice with lot of choice to be had. Rooms spacious and all rooms have balcony, but only gripe for the holiday is the view. Nice car park to look out on 😣.
First, we booked a room with sea view and we got land view. As the hotel not having enough rooms. Then why you took extra money?!?!? Bathroom is not clean, plus the extra bed which supposed to be a normal bed becomes sofa bed . And the sofa bed not enough to a child and not comfortable at all. I don't recommend anyone to book in this hotel as they are liars and cheaters, and not trustworthy .
Me and my husband visited this hotel and Marmaris for the first time. We were a little bit scared of all the bad reviews people wrote on tripadvisor but took the risk and booked our trip. We are SO SO SO GLAD we did! From their welcome till their goodbye this hotel was so warm, we just felt home. I am shocked how heartless people can tell the staff is bad, the service is bad. It really isn't! We have travelled so much all around Turkey and Europe, and stayed at very luxury hotels and believe me this hotel has very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are super clean, the hk are super friendly. I had a little health issue and the whole hotel management kept calling me for help and they really tried hard to help me out. (It has nothing to do with the hotel, i am pregnant and had to visit a gyn.) They called even the next day to check on me, and told me they were always available and ready to help. How can I ever not come back here! Just miss it so much especially the friendly and always smiling staff! When you visit this hotel, you will see they have beautiful green gardens, a large beach with all necessary equipments provided, clean public toilets, nice prepared entertainments, well organised activities and so much more. If you go here please take the time to listen to Jabbar - a super talented singer who performs at the beach bar! He was excellent! We booked also a massage at their spa, but couldn't go regarding my health issue. Even the spa staff called me to ask if I was ok, and after I told them I had some issue with my pregnancy, they adviced me not to take the massage. I was soooooo glad they did this, it gave me the feeling no one at this hotel has a financial approach towards their clients. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I also have to mention our room was BREATHTAKING! We booked a sea view suite, and it was worth every single penny! The view is truly excellent. Thank you so much to the the staff who served excellent meals, to the management and everyone who helps this hotel to become a super nice place! Do not believe in the bad critics I really have a hard time believing these people! My experience was just beyond my expectations! Big big thank you!
We arrived late on a Wed night arranged for an upgrade to a sea view room sooo glad that we did even though it cost us another £100 each for 10 nights ,The man on the reception was very helpful and it took no time at all to sort this out .Went straight to bed that night been a long day travelling. Bed was huge and comfortable ,room quite large with all amenities that you could want bar an Iron and Board, Woke up in the morning made a coffee and walked out onto the Glass Fronted Balcony .WoW ! What a view the extra money for the upgrade was worth it. The Hotel was very quite at the time we visited which is a shame I could not fault the staff ,or the food which was varied throughout or stay ,Food at the pool bar was exceptional .overall Myself and my partner are looking to come back next year to this Hotel
We came last week here & enjoy the 6 days, hotel is very clean & very nice & area is our favorite thing for me & my husband, entertainment group was very friendly & energic.. specially Hami & Merve & cemal & nevzat. Hopefully we gonna come again, thanks for everything. Gonna miss these people.
Stayed at Grand Azur numerous times over the last 15 years and sad to say it has started to let its standards slip . The hotel, was less than half full so the service should have been even better than usual . Sadly not the case , check in reception took ages as there was only 1 person on the desk , the place is clean and well maintained , rooms are still very good . What seems to have happened is a lot of the regular staff have moved on ( for whatever reason ) . Biggest complaint was the once fabulous Steak Bar , invited friends who were staying at another hotel and the service was terrible , took almost 3 hrs for a 2 course meal and the food arrived at different times and was wrong . When i mentioned the poor service to the manager he shrugged , not interested . This was the hotels flagship restaurant and indicative of the slipping standards . This is still a relatively expensive hotel which was worth it when the standards were high but certainly not value for money now . Still enjoyed Marmaris even though the resort was dead , will go back if the price is right !
Been to this hotel several times. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Entertainment team are fantastic. They know everyone by name and are friendly and take the time to talk to everyone regardless of age. Cemal, Nev, Hami and Elif each do wonderful job. Pool area is lovely. No need to fight for beds here. You have the choice of pool, gardens and beach. Something for everyone. The only thing I can say is the food was not as sensational as it was on our last visit. Definitely disappointing.
