Entertainment staff were brilliant. Photography team also really friendly and helpful. Concerned that booked a room for 4 people but we're only given 3 beds with no compromise. Also, whilst my son was in the childrens indoor pool, we found a dead mouse/rat floating in it. When brought to the attention of the pool supervisor he looked and walked away - not seemingly bothered. Then went to reception to speak to a manager (and showed him a picture) who said he would contact us after it had been dealt with. We did not hear anything again after this and no apology. Needless to say we didn't use the indoor swimming facility again! Would have rated 3 stars if not for the lovely hotel grounds, outdoor areas & location.
The staff at this hotel make all the guests feel very welcome! Their smiles are always genuine, and they go out of their way to be helpful!! We booked a suite with a sea view and it didn't disappoint,hugely spacious and modern with a walk in wardrobe! The views from our room and from the beautifully maintained beach are truly breathtaking, you just want to take a picture and look at it when you return home to bring a smile to your face! However, the food in the evenings, for us was a huge disappointment, the hot buffet in particular was very limited, and unimaginative for such a high class hotel ( although when we complained the chef went out of his way to prepare the most wonderful meals each night for us!) That needs to filter through to the buffet then, in our opinion, this lovely hotel will be perfect in every way!!! Five star for service location and accommodation. We WILL return!! Love this hotel. I came here in 2013 & it didn’t disappoint this time either. The staff are very welcoming & helpful. The hotel is very spacious & uncluttered. It has an air of sophistication as one would expect of a 5star Hotel. The Gardens are a delight & swimming pools well designed. Even the water slide for the children is tastefully positioned. Food very good with an excellent choice of hot or cold. Bedrooms are spacious & the beds very very comfortable. Ensuites are also in keeping with Hotel room standards with good sized walk in shower. Beach bar great - I love this after breakfast after a good walk along the prom - fresh orange juice - a good way to continue with the day & watch the jet skiers & other water sports. Entertaining! Also a great place in the evening - music - very relaxing & the cocktails etc are good. The views of the mountains are spectacular across the glistening waters of the sea. I understand this hotel is going to be All inclusive Plus next year - will be interesting to see how this pans out but I am sure the same high quality & standards will be there. Enjoy Jane Oct 2017
Hotel is basic but very clean they do offer a mini fridge also room service is good also bed sheets are changed daily all the staff are always smiling i did not have breakfast or eveving dinner included but i got told that will be part of my stay which i was really happy about saved me money also food was great only thing i did not like was when i asked for a better view where i can see the beach they said no straight away with out even trying other then that great service the view of the beach is stunning also hotel is not to far from grand bazar where you can do all the shopping dont get a taxi go on the bus it will cost only 2.75 Tl also on the beach you can do water activites to such as jet ski bannana boat also if you want to do quad biking you can do the same people will book it for you and take you go in old cloths you will get mud and water everywhere but you will love it also the hotel had a amazing breakfast i would stay here again 👌👌👍👍
Well, what can I say. Second visit here and again excellent food, service atmosphere. Room was spotless, cleaned daily to a high standard with fresh towels every day. Staff were very helpful and helpful, assisting us with an emergency by calling a doctor and provided assistance when required, nothing to much trouble for them. If you want some class without breaking the bank I highly recommend this hotel. 10/10.
Beachfront Location, very spacious, nice grounds. Comfy Bed, That's it!!! Even though we didn't get a good view, The hotel had plenty of spare rooms but we had one given over the hangout and bins round the back! Very disappointed having Spent over £700 each for a week of Self Catering!! The food and lack of and cold was appalling, please don't expect half board because we had to eat out most of our visit. The staff were very ignorant unhelpful and rude, no atmosphere , Dull, Definitely not 5* quality what we paid for, Would never return
Having stayed here before was really looking forward to our holiday. How disappointing it was, hotel reception dull, rooms just as good with really comfy beds. However it was the food that let it down. Breakfast poor unless you are continental and NO fresh juices at all. Ate ours out most days. Evening meal poor too unless you like salad which there was lots of. Think hotel was winding down for end of season which is unfair to paying guests. Would not give this hotel 5 stars and won't be staying ever again.
I am giving the 2 stars purely for the views from the sea view rooms, the beautiful grounds and spacious beach. I have to agree that after coming to this hotel for the past 10 years it has dramatically gone downhill with regards to the food quality and poor service. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was the miserable looking staff - the 1st November cannot come fast enough for them and the very noticeable absence of many long serving staff members. They have seen the light and abandoned ship. The food ranged from being average to appalling and that is being very kind. I reported the cold food/very like warm to the management who tried to blame the weather!!!!! and then guests leaving the tops open on the serving bowls even though it was only 2 minutes past 7 and they opened at 7pm. Then which 5 star hotel serves up meatballs as a main meat course???? That is the sign of a 1 star café. Then no ice cream at the pool bar or beach bar - they have been waiting for over a month for a delivery was their excuse - rubbish, they simply didn't want any in stock over the winter now that they don't open all year round. Next year they are going all inclusive - that will be the final nail in their coffin as far as getting repeat guests. Now there was only a 35% occupancy in September/October. The pier looks nice, well it would have looked better if they had not taken away the all the sunbeds and brollies. Another sign of trying to get ready for closing and guests were a mere inconvenience. In the gardens where there was always an abundance of sunbeds - 90% were removed and stacked down the side of the hotel. In the past this hotel has done so many things right but now they just don't care and are gearing up for the all inclusive season next year and the influx of Russian and Arab guests. Well good luck because you will need it. I have always given this hotel good/excellent reports but sorry but not this time.
What a shame this once fabulous hotel is now a shadow of it's former self . Having spent numerous years returning to what I called our second home I now believe our visit in Sept will have been our last . The biggest issue here is the food , gone are the days when the chefs would be show cooking all different varieties of meats in the evenings . Now you have maybe one chef cooking low quality food and they've even got rid of the showcase oriental cooking station ! Everything is repetitive no choice same bland food every evening unless you're a lover of salads well then you're in for a treat as there's lots of it .If the owners could sort the food issues and also the heedless restaurant staff who spend more time chatting to one another than waiting on the paying guests then maybe this hotel could return to the high reputation it once had.However for the guests like ourselves who have spent a lot of money returning year on year it may be to late . I do have some praise for the hotel it's not all negative . The grounds are still as beautiful as always and are kept immaculately tidy which is a credit to them and the views from the high floor rooms are stunning . The rooms are kept tidy and clean but like everywhere they do need a little bit of attention fresh paint in lighter brighter shades would be very attractive and maybe some new lighting as rooms can be dull . The beach bar which is a favourite of ours is also suffering the same as the hotel itself . No stock of the meals we wanted to order from the menu which is very limited anyway , such a shame . Rumours are that the hotel is going all inclusive from next year so it will be very interesting to see what changes that will bring about .
We have stayed at the Grand Azur for 13 years now, sometimes more than once a year, and I'm sorry to say that the quality has fallen every year, without exception. The original staff, all of whom were friendly, polite and knowledgeable have mostly all left, and over time have been replaced by inexperienced and clearly overworked drones, who do their best, but come nowhere near to the level you should expect from a 5 star hotel. The food, once all freshly cooked in front of you is now mainly "something in a sauce in a bain-marie" and again is nowhere near the standard you should expect from 5 stars. The Beach Bar, which once upon a time did super lunches and early evening food was only able to supply 50% of the menu, and some of those remaining dishes (penne arrabatia in particular) were so bad they had to be sent back to the kitchen. In the 10 days we were there from a potential choice of 12 ice cream flavours shown on the menu they could only ever offer strawberry or lime. Makes you wonder if they're on "credit stop" from their suppliers!! Really not good enough. The rooms are good, the view is sensational, but this is really now just a 2 star hotel operating from a 5 star location. Such a shame to see how far this hotel, which used to be the jewel in Marmaris, has fallen.
