Spacious clean units, well-equipped and family friendly. Good location in the heart of wine country. We visited in winter and units were warm and comfortable. Good facilities. Be lovely to stay in Summer and be able to use the pool.
We were persuaded on arrival to spend $50 extra per night on one of the rear villas as the one nearest the road suffers from a lot of road noise. Although we feel that an extra $50 PER NIGHT is a bit excessive, we took up this option and it was probably a wise move. However, it probably should be made clearer in the website wording, as we didnt notice the small print about noise when we booked. Good sized villas - well equipped and a good location for visiting wineries etc. Possibly a bit far out of town if you want to go to the restaurants in the evenings. A good stay
When in Marlborough, what better place to stay than right amongst the vines... THe views from the cottage we stayed in (Manor) were beautiful. The location of the hotel was also great - close to several attractions / wineries. The layout worked very well for a family and had everything we needed (including washing machine). They also offer a very useful pre-stocking service for wine/beer and food platters for when you arrive - all of which was very tasty. The cottage could have been a bit more sumptuously furnished (a bit sparse in areas) and was a tad cold at night (in fairness they did supply portable radiators and have electric blankets, but I never like to sleep with those things on!). I suspect Marlborough doesn't get cold often enough for it to be an issue generally. We found the staff that we spoke with to be really friendly as well as helpful in terms of recommendations, providing balls etc for kids to play with, which made the stay all the more pleasant.
Vintners Retreat is my favourite place to stay in the Blenheim area - a little out of town by vineyards, and the town houses are well appointed - it just has a very relaxed and enjoyable ambiance & I think it's worth paying a little more than other options to stay here. We stayed with two children and the layout worked well, they enjoyed the Sky TV and WIFI access. Josh looked after us well, and went out of this way to make sure that we were satisfied. Definitely where I will be staying next time in Blenheim.
We were unable to arrive on the first night due to cancellation of the interislander ferry (heavy weather). Vintners were very understanding and attempted to not charge us for the night we were not present (subject to us getting Booking.com to wave their booking fee for the night). Much appreciated. The room was (as we have seen before) very comfortable and we'll appointed. A good spot.
Such an easy and enjoyable stay. Everything was easy! We felt settled and relaxed very quickly and was able to enjoy to lovely surroundings. Accessing the local amenities was also incredibly easy adding to overall enjoyment of our stay. Helpful staff and high quality amenities delivered us a fabulous break.
Ten out of ten. Josh was an amazing host. Fantastic advice. And he was super friendly, normal and spoke the language we understood. The venue.... superb. Unit 1 was great spacious clean and felt like home. We will definitely be back!!! Cheers for making it great.
We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed a 2 bedroom villa-it had everything we could have wanted. Managers were delightful and genuine-nothing too much trouble. When one of our bikes had a mechanical failure Josh drove out to meet us, took the bike, repaired it and had it ready for us after our lunch at Giesen's across the road. Definitely considering a repeat visit.
Such a great location within easy reach by bicycle or by car of most of the vineyards in the Marlborough wine region. Great kitchen, lounge and separate bedroom. Lots of space and a great patio with a gas BBQ for sunny weather which we had in abundance when we were there. Spotless and clean. Bicycles available for hire for 30 NZ dollars for a day. Highly recommend this place.
We stayed here recently with friends in one of the 3 bedroom lodges. The place was nicely appointed, clean, and contained everything you need. Nearly every room had a wonderful view over the neighbours vineyard to the mountains beyond. The place was also serviced daily and all the staff we met were very friendly and welcoming. We hired the retreats bikes for one of the days which was a great way to get around and visit the many vineyards.
