My companions and I agreed that this was the best meal we've had so far in New Zealand. My wife had the porterhouse, with prawns and scallops. She loved it. Our friend had the scallops, which she proclaimed the best she's ever had. I had the roast lamb with mint and fresh veggies. Very tasty! Service was excellent. Prices were more than reasonable. We topped things off with the apple crumble. Yum Yum.

We checked into this hotel without very much information given as to the facilities offered or that there was a swimming pool or there was no breakfast offered or that they didn't open reception until 8am. So we stayed, looked at the view, walked to other cafe's for breakfast, didn't swim, put the key in the room and left feeling dissatisfied that our needs for a pleasant stay was not met.

Located conveniently for the harbour and High Street. Comfortable apartment style rooms with kitchenette. Restaurant open in evening but I didn't go there. No restaurant open at breakfast time, but not a problem as plenty of cafes in the town.

This place is a great value. It's perfectly located. You can easily walk here from the ferry terminal and then you can walk to the town area too which can s just around the corner. The wifi is pretty quick, the beds super comfortable, the bathrooms big and clean, overall decor in the rooms modern, and the view impeccable. The restaurant has a good reputation in town but we didn't eat there because by the time we arrived at 6:45pm they were booked up for the evening which is a good sign considering there are so many restaurants in easy walking distance. I would absolutely stay here again and the other 7 adults in my party agree. This inn is the best of its class. Sure there are nicer places but you have to pay more money for them. This place is a 3 star like Motel 6 and Super 8 but blows them out of the water. This is not a scary, dark, dirty place. It's just the opposite and we were so happy to stumble upon it!

We just had a quick overnight stay, which is a shame because this very comfortable room would have been a nice place to stay a few days. It was roomy and well-equipped, with plenty of storage space and a great little kitchen (stove-top, microwave, electric frypan etc). Good bed, nice bathroom. Lovely woman in reception, it must have been right at the end of her shift when we arrived but she was still warm and welcoming. The only drawbacks were very slow wifi (and I get how hard it is to give fast wifi to so many people) and the lack of aircon on an airless night.

Great stay, clean and tidy. Comfy beds and had sky. Awesome view of Picton harbour and Within walking distance to Main Street (eateries, petrol, general shopping. Room was well layed out, Would happily stay again.

Nice views of the harbor from the patio. Good kitchenette, otherwise functional bed and bathroom but not many other frills. Easy walk to town and Ferry. Discovered later it had a swimming pool. Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. They don't serve breakfast just dinner. I suspect for Picton it was a good value.

Didn't stay in the hotel, but ate in the restaurant. The steak was huge and cooked to utter perfection. Came with scallops And prawns and a lovely Greek salad. Amazing Xmas decorations and couldn't fault the service

Got a harbour view room which had a Queen bed and single bed for my husband, toddler and myself. Was modern, clean, had a sink and microwave. Had everything you need really and an amazing view. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

I stayed here for three nights last week. The rooms are lovely! They feel very homely and are comfortably spacious with generous beds and a patio to sit and watch the beautiful scenery and the boats go about their business. My late check in was accommodated for hasslefree and the room was made up spotlessly everyday. Although perhaps one small carton of milk is not quite adequate as I had to bother the receptionist for more. As I was visiting Picton for work this meant I arrived off the boat late in the evenings, with a grumbling tummy I arrived at the in house restaurant at 8.10pm only to be told that the kitchen was no longer open and I should have come earlier. It stated in the room booklet that the restaurant would remain open as long as there were people dining to which there were a handful of tables at that time so I presumed it would be no trouble. Quite disappointing as 8 is a rather early closing time for a hotel restaurant. Nevertheless, my overall stay here was delightful and I will indeed return.
