Welcome to The Grove, your ideal retreat in Marion, Illinois! Located at the west end of Marion, nestled in a serene wooded area, this cabin offers the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience, being just under 5 minutes from the new Oasis Sports Complex and Kokopelli Golf Course, situated in the heart of Marion. The Grove is also less than 5 minutes away from Herrin, a neighboring town. SIU University is also less than a 20 minute drive, making this location perfect for our guests!

Accommodating up to six guests, The Grove features three cozy bedrooms, including two twin beds, a queen bed, and a king bed, ensuring a comfortable stay for families or couples looking to unwind. Each bedroom is thoughtfully equipped with a smart TV and ceiling fans for your convenience.

After a day of exploring, come back to relax in this peaceful setting. Enjoy the nearby Kokopelli Golf Course and the new Oasis Sports Complex (opening in the summer of 2025), both just minutes away. You'll also find a variety of dining options in the area, making it easy to sample the local flavors. Embrace the best of both worlds at The Grove—your home away from home!

The Grove is located on our families farmland. You may see us from time to time, bailing hay or working on the property to ensure it's in top shape. We are very careful not to disturb our guests and allow them to fully enjoy their stay!
Important Tips Before Your Stay

A set up package of 4 rolls of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towels, 4 dishwasher pods, and 4 Free and Clear laundry pods are provided for each booking. All sheets, blankets, comforters, pillowcases, and throw blankets are laundered with free and clear laundry detergent. All items, used or unused, are laundered every time the home is rented.

Once your booking is accepted, we will send you a short-term rental agreement that is to be reviewed and signed within 24 hours of your accepted reservation. It is the renter's responsibility to ensure that all guests abide by the house polices outlined in the agreement.

The Grove has a strict no-smoking and vaping policy inside the home, on the porches, and near the home. There is a designated smoking location under the carport with a receptacle. The home is made of cedar, which easily soaks in smells, making future non-smoking guests' stays unpleasant. If you or your guests smoke or vape, there are several homes in the area with more lax smoking policies. Thank you.

What a fantastic place to call “home” for the week. The location was central to all of my family locally and the driveway was big enough to fit their trucks! The yard had ample space for my nieces and nephews to play games. The wildlife in the field out back was a bonus! Everyone really enjoyed themselves and we can’t wait to come back!

The cabin is beautiful and spacious. The location is quiet and serene in a woodsy environment. The owners of the property are very nice. The check-in process was easy and we enjoyed our stay very much. We had a 3 and 4 year old and the owners left us a gift of s’mores to make for kids out by the fire pit. Beautiful!! This house is tucked back in the woods on a beautiful piece of property. The outside of the house is very warm and inviting. The inside is exactly as the photos on the website. It is beautiful inside. Everything was very clean. They provided everything a person would need or if they forgot to bring. The check in process was very easy. Perfect getaway at THE GROVE, close to SIU

The Grove was the perfect stay for our extended family for our son's graduation at SIU. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was perfect with all supplies, and the living area was great for reclining and reading a book. We loved the peaceful property and seeing the deer and song birds (pee wee, indigo bunting) each day. The porch swing is a nice place to relax, drink coffee, and watch the world go by. Melissa and Ryan were the perfect hosts. We highly recommend this escape to serenity.

A splendid TREAT of a Retreat

The Grove is perfect in every way. This home is pristine and so incredibly clean and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything and outfitted the residence with quality furnishings, ample and comfortable furniture, bedding and linens! It is incredibly well-equipped with every excellent quality amenity to make your stay simply perfect. You feel like you’re in a world all to your own, but paved roads will quickly lead you to many stores and restaurants just minutes away. It truly is a gem and someplace we will stay when we travel home to visit family! It absolutely feels like home, away from home.

We came to visit family and found The Grove. The photos don't do it justice. The property was beautiful and the house was everything we needed. The house was impeccably clean which made my clean-freak heart happy. We have already made arrangements to stay again in the spring when we come back. The hosts were just lovely. From the moment we drove up to the property we felt welcome. There was a chalk board greeting us. When we walked in there were drinks in case we were thirsty after our drive lots of little touches that made everything so welcoming there were make up towels, a Blackstone on the porch extra trash bags, soap, shampoo, plenty of toilet paper, paper towels everything was just extremely nice and well decorated. It was a wonderful stay. We wanted to start a fire outside and couldn’t find a lighter so I asked the property owner where it was and they brought one to us now that is service. Quick response to emails had an itinerary made up for us if we wanted to use it and she suggested places to go in town. All four of us that stayed would highly recommend this cabin.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful cedar cabin in the woods outside of Marion, IL. The owners were incredibly responsive, polite, and even allowed us to check in early since we flew in and had nowhere to go—such a thoughtful gesture.The property itself is spotless and very well cared for. They went above and beyond by leaving little treats and drinks for us and the kids, and truly thought of everything—from bug spray to poker sticks for making s’mores around the fire pit. The Blackstone grill was perfect for cooking for our group of six, and it made meals together so easy.This was hands-down my best Vrbo experience. The value far exceeded the price—we honestly would have expected to pay more for everything we received. If I could give ten stars, I would!The owners are also building some smaller cabins just down the road that look amazing, and my wife and I are already planning to try one of those for a couples’ trip.Couldn’t recommend this place more. Thank you for making our weekend getaway extra special—we will definitely be back!
