We arrived as a family of four adults for two nights, with two breakfasts included in our reservation. One day before our arrival, we were informed that breakfast would be served at a different location. When we entered the house, it became immediately clear that the beautiful, full breakfast shown in the photos and described in the reviews on Expedia — with homemade pastries and other items — could not possibly be prepared there. The place was old and simply did not have the space or facilities for such a breakfast. The night was terrible: the boiler made loud noises nonstop, and we could hardly sleep. It felt like it could explode at any moment — it was genuinely frightening. In the morning, when we went for breakfast, we were completely shocked. The breakfast was served in a cheap motel, where there were only two small tables and the food consisted of just coffee, bagels, and cream cheese. A girl nearby was sorting laundry from the same motel. It was very unpleasant and humiliating for us. It would have been better if they had told us there would be no breakfast at all than to make us drive there for such a disappointing meal. When we expressed our surprise and said that we expected a very different breakfast, we were told that the “full breakfast” is only served at Margaretville Bed and Breakfast. However, on Expedia, the photos and description of that full breakfast appear under the same property name that we booked!

Our stay at the Margaretville Mtn Inn was fantastic. The room was beautiful and very clean. The breakfast that was served was wholesome and delicious. I would definitely stay there again.

The two bedroom suite smelled. Condition of house not the same as advertised. Hot tub was in a dusty shack and covered in spider webs. Upon arriving both smoke detectors were beeping from low battery although maintenance took care of it. Continental breakfast was lackluster with little supply available. Less than average experience and not worth the $. You'd be better off just getting a room at the motel they manage if even that.
