An average Parador with average rooms. Dinner can be a bit complicated if you don't speak/read spanish as the descriptions don't always match the food.....ie cheese ice-cream. Good breakfast bar with bacon and eggs etc., and loads of fruit. Paid E180 for 2 people 1 night.
Great service from the workers of this hotel. You have a lot of services from the hotel. Maybe the bad point is that this hotel need update some installation over the room like the shower. But at the end great option for relax or business trip
This is not your typical heritage site Paradores but it is a nice hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We visited the worls's only cheese museum in town and it was very well done with some fine art displayed and wonderful sculpture. The town is small but full of charm. The hotel parking is adequate but they hosted a wedding the night we stayed and it was problematic as was the noise level during the outdoor reception. The food in the restaurant was really good! The best of any of the Paradores we have stayed in. There was a buffet for dinner and honestly although the server kept trying to get us to order a fish or meat enter in addition...we could not have possible eaten more. Wait staff were efficient and the Maitre D very personable. We would stay here again!,
I love the Parador chain: they very often offer excellent price-quality for hotels that are either in a splendid location or housed in a beautiful historic building. When we checked into the Parador of Manzanares I couldn't help wondering why this hotel is part of the Parador chain. It has no splendid views to offer, in fact it is located at a mere 100 metres off the E4/A5 highway from Madrid to Andalucia. The location looks like you would expect from a description like this: drab and sad. In fact the location is that of a typical highway motel where people stay at most one night on their way to somewhere else. Luckily this was also the case for us. Aside from the location that doesn't fit into the Parador brand, the hotel is neither housed in a historic building. So you really wonder why Paradores decided to run a hotel in that place? Having said that the room was nice enough and had a decent terrace. Given the proximity of the highway you had to take the traffic noise of trucks and speeding cars along with it though. The public spaces were pleasant enough. The waiter at the bar would not exactly win any prizes for hospitality or customer orientation. On the other hand the service in the restaurant was good and the food was traditionally Spanish but of good quality. So all in all not such a bad place for an overnight stay if you don't mind an ugly location, traffic noise and a surly waiter. The price helps in convincing though and I would say it was in line with the three star level of the hotel. The wifi was acceptable but expect no olympic speeds. Too bad the swimming pool was empty that could have made it just a tad nicer. All in all this was underwhelming for a Parador hotel. Some serious investment would be needed to improve this. However, if you can deal with anonymous road side motels devoid of any possible charm and you want a good size room for a reasonable price then it might be worth considering.
A large hotel located just off the main road. Very comfortable & clean. Not great wifi! Food is good staff a little shy. But very reasonable & great for a nights stay. As we had a meeting just ten minutes down the road.
Took us 90 minutes to find the hotel when we were within 5 minutes of it. The address is not detailed enough and the sign for the hotel does not say Parador de Manzaranes! Wedding party went on till nearly 4 in the morning so not much sleep. And a jacket "disappeared" from our room on leaving ( our fault for leaving it there for 5 mins I guess ) When we were settling the bill and packing bags back into our car, we went downstairs for less than 5 minutes when my wife realised she had left a jacket in the room. When I went up, the room was already stripped and there was no sign of the jacket. Reported it missing but we were told that the chamber maids had found nothing - it was there, so be careful not to leave anything or it may cost you dear! Food in the hotel was expensive and not overly good. The room comfort was OK in fairness, but what happened has left a bitter taste. I do hope that they improve the directions on the site so that others do not have the same problem as us after a long journey. If we had known to come off at junction 175, we would have. Km 175 means nothing in English! Please update your hotel sign too! So for those reasons you get a bad score from us!
I can only advise people to give this place a wide berth. It's in a soulless part of town within a stone's throw to the bullring and extremely close to the motorway - the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. The reception staff were very curt on arrival and there was no bar open. Eventually, we left and had a drink in the bar opposite. Never to return. Perhaps we were unlucky, but the two members of staff we encountered were far from welcoming.
We have stayed at this parador about 30times in the last 18years and have found the service and professionism of the staff extremely favourably consistent. It has a superb location, just off the A4 about an hour and a half south of Madrid, in La Manche, an area which we particulaly enjoy.
Loved this place! Clean rooms, grey bathroom and a very capable restaurant open long hours. A great jump off place to the nearby natural areas. We loved the lagoon walks at sunset.also enjoyed the breakfasts.
This Parador is ideally located if you travel from Catalonia to the very south of Spain and you do not want to cover the entire distance of about 1000 kms in one day. Besides, if your destination were La Mancha, the Manzanares Parador is in the midst of all the action: The wetlands at Daimiel, the beuatiful lagoons at Ruidera, Almagro (although that city has its own Parador). Its one of those Paradores with its charateristic charm, lots of cosy areas where you can read the papars without interruption and good food. Especially breakfast is superb. Staff was helpful and sympathetic. When my wife and I stayed there the Parador was undergoing a mayor refurbishment: the cafeteria and the usual breakfast room were not available and we had to go to the restaurant which is part of the complex. A bit of a nuisance but not important. We´ll be back.
