If you're looking for convenience to Manteo, the Hotel is located within minutes by car or a short walk. The Hotel is in desperate need of remodeling as the rooms are dreary and uninviting. Cleanliness was average. Parts of the back parking lot need paving badly, with crater size potholes that you need to circumvent. The third building in back borders a road that is very loud with cars racing up and down. The staff were pleasant and amiable, but that doesn't overshadow the needs of the property. Decent value, but it comes at the cost of amenities and overall invitingness.

This is a nice older hotel that they are just starting to renovate. It's been around since the 1950s and it is definitely simple and a bit dated but it was very clean, reasonable and close to everything. The beds were comfortable and there were lots of towels. It was also quiet.

The room was clean and comfortable. It is located in a quiet area with only a 10 minute drive to the area. The pool was really nice. We stayed for a week and the card in the room said we would get room service halfway through our stay if we wanted it. We put the card out to service the room but they didn’t do it. We then found a staff member and asked for clean towels and to sweep the floor. We did get a couple of clean towels but it didn’t feel like they swept the floor. If there had been a broom in the room , I would have swept the sand up every couple days. I would stay there again. I like the location

When we arrived we found out that the Deluxe suite that we ordered and paid for was in a separate building on the second floor with no elevator in the building. We expected the suite to be accessible for the disabled. My wife cannot climb stairs. We ended up taking a single ground floor room at the front of the main building. This provided constant traffic noise, especially in the early morning. The bathroom was so small, you had to stand in the tub to shut the door. It was difficult to obtain maid service when needed, we had to go to the front desk to get clean towels. Front desk personnel were friendly. The facility was pet friendly for my service dog and walk areas were accessible. I asked for a refund on the difference in the room prices, but they said because I had booked through Expedia, I needed to get the refund from Expedia. We were so unhappy with accommodations that we left on Friday even though we had paid through Saturday. We paid a total of $1167.16, including taxes. The cost of the smaller room cannot be seen on your site, possibly because of current availability, Please provide a refund as described.

Overall a great value. Clean room, great location close to historic Manteo. Wonderful and responsive staff. Well equipped gym. Only complaint was there was no mattress cover which I find to be substandard for a Wyndham.

Staff was not very hospitable and we asked when our room would be cleaned we were told they did not have maid service then another front desk employee told us rooms are cleaned every 3 days . We were they 4 nights and our room was never cleaned. We had to bring our dirty towels to the desk and get fresh ones. It was not worth the money we paid.

I had reserved a King room but when I got to my room, it had double beds. I asked at the front desk and was told they were out of King beds. Normally, I would expect to be told about this at check-in. The room had a very strong smoke smell and there was an old air purifier rubbing the entire time, but the smoke smell didn’t go away.

Room was clean but that was the best review I can give for my room. #609 had an upstairs guest that stomped all night and outside had dog hair that blowed into the room and reeked of cigarette smoke that came in the room through the cracks around the door. However the lobby area was pleasant and clean with very nice staff!

Very noisy due to room beside us had an unattended dog that barked consistently for hours and randomly throughout the night. Property is dated. The air conditioning unit had a very loud vibration and rattled when on. The bathroom vent was extremely loud and was connected to the overhead light so you could not operate them independently. There was a lot of light that shown into the room around the door that opened into the hotel and made it difficult to sleep. The pros are the location and ease of parking.
