This was a great place for us to stay on our first visit to the OBX. The location in the middle of the OBX made it easy to visit a a good chunk of the area and it is a short drive to Fort Raleigh, the Wright memorial, and the Hatteras seashore. With the residence being in the heart of the Manteo social district, there are several great restaurants within a brief walking distance so we did not need to jump in the car every night to go to dinner. There are also some great restaurants just about 10-15 minutes drive back to Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills. Our host Laurie met us when we arrived as she had saved a parking spot for us since there was a downtown festival going on the day we arrived. I usually was able to get a spot in front but if those spots were full, there is parking in the back of the building. Laurie is super nice and even carried one of our suitcases up to the unit. The unit was very clean and it was great having a full kitchen and a Keurig machine. There were a good assortment of pods available and we had brought our own with us as well. There were pots, pans, utensils, olive oil and spices. There are two grocery stores just a couple minutes away in Manteo.. The full size bathroom was also nice and there was plenty of hot water and great water pressure. Having a washer and dryer in the unit is a huge benefit as you can pack fewer items and run a load of laundry. Also fewer dirty clothes to bring home.
