This was my first experience with the Ginger group of hotels and would try to summarise my experience -> Good points -> 1. Courteous and helpful staff - they organised for an airport pick up and later a car for extended hours at short notice which saved us some hassles definitely 2. Neat and clean rooms 3. Decent breakfast spread and Wi-Fi Negatives 1. Extremely small rooms - one needs to squeeze particularly in cases of a vacation related travel where you tend to lug on some meaningful luggage. This is critical if you plan to stay put for a few days and the situation gets compounded if you are travelling with kids. So the hotel should be clearly mentioning either the size of the rooms or suggest bigger rooms to those travelling with kids. None of this happened in my case though. 2. Total room rent charged for a town / city like Mangalore is way too expensive !! Just for records, I pay lesser amounts for 5 Star properties in cities like Bangalore / NCR !! This is the main reason for my rating hovering on the average marks. Overall, suitable for 1 / 2 nights if travelling light.
Very good tasty food served here, servicing is good, friendly service good food worth the price. This hotel is well known in this locality. Good place to have variety of south indian food. Maintained very well.
Didn't feel comfortable with the way my family was engaged with. Non-responsive housekeeping, loud noise of some blower or DG through out the night, fewer south Indian items in the menu, loud Hindi songs in the lounge, not so clean bathrooms, not providing even basic toiletories like soap, not making sure number of pillows and towels are sufficient for number of guests, small 14 inch LCD TV that looks like was ditched from a PC, just one charging point, no space to keep any tooteries in the bathroom, primitive type wash basin, fabric based shower curtain that doesn't do the intended job of stopping water getting splashed out of shower area, extremely high pressure in the health faucet that will for sure pierce the rectum, flimsy dirty plastic shampoo dispensers, lack of hangers/ rack in the bathroom to hang the innerware while taking bath, low fitted shower head, not so warm shower water, no safe to lock valuables, no ace to keep luggage... The list goes on and on and on. One of the terrible hotels I stayed in. Highly disappointing experience from TATA group of hotels.
Stayed over for just 2 nights en route to Bekal. Staff is really helpful. Hotel is little away from town center of Mangalore but risksha and buses and of course cabs are available just round the corner. Worth place, my only advice is check the travel portals like makemytrip etc before booking directly with Ginger as portals at times give better deal than direct reservations especially in case of Ginger...
I had made my booking through booking.com and checked into the hotel at around 11.30 pm, to my suprise there was a huge difference in rate and there was nobody superior in the hotel who could tell me what the reason is and the front office guy had no communication and was clueless. They do not maintain a reservation voucher when i asked for so that i can cross check, the guy in front office was clueless and i had to walk out and search for another hotel in the midnight. No courtesy and bad attitude
Ginger is located close by to Taneer baavi beach, Kudroli gokarnanath temple. Also to state highway that leads to kateel durga parameshwari temple. Very nice food. Loved their north indian thali. Though they dint have any Sea food. They have interconnected rooms if you require one.
Tiny room, smelly toilet - had to ask housekeeping to clean it up, dirty old curtains, hard towels, musty smell in the room, ceiling with dirty water or fungus patches, not worth it. Has to book this as all other hotels were chock o block Understood it’s an Economy hotel but end of the day basic hygiene and quality needs to be in place.
Booked this hotel for a 1 night stay. Had a pleasant experience - just that the fares were a bit high (~3k) for a 3 star hotel. Ambience was great, check in was seamless and service is great. Room is pretty elegant but the AC wasn't great.
Nice maintained... price could be budget friendly bt services cleanliness great so if nyone looking for facilities it’s good choice Booking thru it’s own website vl provide u 10-15% more discount so u can book via ginger website
The hotel is located almsot at the highway. It has got its own enough parking facility. As usual, ginger hotels are good and so was my stay at this hotel. Checkin - Checkout smooth. Complimentary breakfast good but not much variety. However, no complains.
