I came to this resort with family to relax and charge my batteries after an exhausting trip to the full south of Peru. This is an average resort that still needs improvement. Looks like they are still expanding and making changes. What I liked: The staff are very nice and welcoming The surroundings and rooms are beautiful and very clean. The Ceviche is consistently amazing! What I didn’t like: Although I speak Spanish, there is a lack of English speaking staff. If this resort wants to reach others besides locals and Latin Americans, they need to invest in English speaking staff. That goes for the entertainers also. The Entertainers. They lack imagination and enthusiasm. None of them are Peruvian which was a complete turn off. This is taking jobs away from the Peruvians themselves. There are plenty of talented Peruvians that could do a way better job. These entertainers try to mimic traditional Peruvian dancing and cannot even get it right. The shows are terrible also. They mostly use audience participation to avoid coming up wth their own material. Wheelchair access My mom has difficulty walking and so we came with a wheelchair. There are plenty of ramps and my mom was given a bigger room, which was fantastic. My complaint is that every night, the staff would close off the dining area where the ramps were located. What is the point of having ramps if they are going to be closed off anyway? My mom had to be forced off her wheelchair and go down the stairs. Good thing she can walk a little bit. Someone with a complete disability would have a problem here. If the hotel wants to close off certain areas, then make sure there are wheelchair accessibilities in other areas. Like I said, this resort is still under construction and is being improved. I think within time, it will only get better. The location and weather is great! However, it lacks authenticity with their entertainers. Coming from Canada, this is a very false representation of Peruvians and their culture. Get real Peruvians in there to entertain.
I came here with a couple of friends. One of them is a fan and has been talking about it for years, so I finally caved and went with her while I was visiting Peru. Also, I've always wanted to do the Tourist Thing. Typically, I venture where not many tourists go, but I've always wanted to just lounge around and get pampered. This is the place for that. Food is served basically all day. There is a breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet, and "snacks" are offered in between. Drinks are served all day as well, and it's all included. Also, they offer exercises near the pool area - zumba for example, and exercises in the pool - waterpolo, and aquacises. At night, they offer shows. They differ depending on the day. While I was there, they had "Mr. Decameron" where the public got to choose between four male guests who "Mr Decameron" is. They had to do some tasks to see who the winner would be. The next night, it was "Tropical Night" which was a night of latin dancing. It was amazing. The entertainment crew is truly amazing.
Great place to just unplug yourself from your routine, and let others take care of you. My daughter and I had dinner at all their restaurants (It was worth waking up early to book a table) Breakfast and lunch were also quite satisfactory. We were early birds so we enjoyed our meals in a less crowded atmosphere. Planning to go back soon.
Overall a good resort ! a great pool area great location definitely more sun umbrellas required always difficult every morning securing a spot ! Food and drinks were good ! Maybe more options eg sushi bar , Asian or mexican , Italian etc The buffet was ok the restaurants were better ! The nightly entertainment was fantastic and the dancing etc def was a highlight ! The resort needs a proper kids club 3 upwards !!!!!! The activities weren’t properly organised or engaging ! The games room was for older kids ! A younger kids club required as well as a playground area outdoors ! Overall great spot some improvements required before another visit !
For my first time experience my wife and I had a great time the people were nice and helpful. The service such as food and drinks, the food was excellent, the drinks were awesome, and the view was amazing. We would love to go back and bring some family members. However them not expecting the fees for the phone calls out to US wasn't explained properly. They just told us about the $20 dollar activation fees and nothing else intel we left the resort and then that's when they told us we needed to pay a $150.00 dollars more for phone calls that we made. That's cool and all but it would just be nice to know a head of time just in case some people spent all there money during there vacation. We also felt for be out that far and for people from different countries to come there for vacation they should have phone charger and more just in case someone loses there's.
Horrible, no umbrellas for the sun, no shadows at all, "old schoo music" at very highs levels from daylight to moonlight. Terrible drinks, poor quality of foods at the buffet . Save your money ! .Try a home at airbnb , incredible country and beaches, but horrible hotel.
I stayed there for a wedding, with a large group of friends, the hotel infrastructure es really nice and well maintained, that all the good things I have to say. The food was terrible, there is two a la carte restaurants and one buffet. The buffet did change everyday, but the taste of everything was certainly the same. You have to go a ridiculous hours (6am) to the front desk in order to reserve a table at the other restaurants , which neither is nice. You have only two bars at the hotel, one at the lobby and the other near the beach, they only serve national liquor, which are of the worst quality you can find, and the selection of drinks I very limited , you can't find a bloody Mary for example. The room was clean and spacious, but really outdated. We had a ocean view suite, and it wasn't worth the money. Overall, it is a 2 stars hotel.
First, the positive. The resort was nice and well maintained. There was ample food and the quality was OK for a buffet. The specialty restaurants were nice, as well. My main concerns related to available services and the lack of English-speaking staff. I know that this resort is not in an English-speaking country, but it is promoted on RCI as meeting the needs of US travelers. I would not have booked the week if not for RCI and an assumption that they would not promote a resort that was not able to meet my needs. Navigating services is quite difficult for people who do not speak Spanish. That being said, there is also a significant lack of available activities. If your ideal vacation is sitting by the pool with a DJ thumping loud music, this is likely the place for you. If you desire more diverse options for entertainment or activities, this resort has little to offer.
Travelled from UK with my husband and little girl 10 years old. Hotel was very clean and employees were very accommodating. I requested a change of room as I wanted to stayed near to some friends and they did it without hesitation. Food is great and is cater for all tastes. Enjoyed the Mexican and Peruvian food most. Pool cleaned every day and easy access to the beach. Enjoyed my long walks. Will definitively be back. Highly recommended
Definitely the noisiest hotel we have ever been to. Loud open-air disco takes place EVERY night until 2am. If you travel with small kids or just want to have a rest on your holiday, too bad. There is no escape from that loud music. On one night, a part of the hotel was rented for a wedding celebration so we could “enjoy” 2 simultaneous loud parties:(( Disappointing and unacceptable.
