We checked in here for 1 night after a disappointing 1 night stay at a budget IBIS. What a contrast for not a great deal more money. We decided to opt for a superior room which was beautiful and very comfortable. The bed was excellent and there were two ‘armchairs’ in the room. This room, the bathroom (with toiletries) and the dining area were all very clean and pleasantly decorated. Breakfast was excellent. We had a freshly cooked full English breakfast with good coffee /tea. We were offered refills of these. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. We followed his advice and ate our evening meal in the nearby Monton village where there’s a wide range of restaurants and bars. Parking is available at the hotel but I don’t think there’s any disabled access. We will definitely use this hotel again on future trips to the Manchester area. It’s only 5 mins drive (depending on traffic and time of day!) from all the attractions at Salford Quays and not much more to Old Trafford. Public transport in ?Manchester is excellent too.

Lovely is the word that best describes this place. As an Austrian it felt quintessentially English to me and very comfortable! We even had room service breakfast which was delicious and topped off our stay there. We felt really bad for losing our room key and are so grateful for the understanding and friendly response from the hotel team. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!!

big clean comfy rooms, super full english breakfast and top service from our host David. Oh and the shower had some proper ooumf to it and stacks of hot water. In short everything you would want for your stay. Loved it

I booked via booking.com and was a bit anxious as some negative reviews , we arrived at 1.30pm and was greeted by David a lovely man , the hotel had some lovely antiques and has a lovely feel to it , breakfast is lovely ,

Please read the following messages- Good Afternoon, I am writing a quick e-mail just to let you know of my misfortune that happened on Monday 26th. I travelled late form Leeds to your hotel on the Monday evening and turned up at approx 9:50pm I drove past the hotel slowly to see if I could park out front. Unfortunately there was a car blocking the entrance driveway with lights on and engine running to which I presumed it was a guest delivering baggage so went to roundabout and turned round and looked for a parking space elsewhere a little cross. After finding a well lit space I walked towards the hotel at approx 10ish and witnessed a short dark haired lady come running out of the hotel and jump in the car (still blocking the entrance!!). I approached the door and rung doorbell wit no answer, walked perimeter with no message or contact and to my absolute horror witnessed 4 spaces in the back of hotel!!.... I phoned contact number and no answer, I emailed website and bounced back. I stood in the cold for 20 mins trying to find any contact (what would happen if I were a guest and lost key?) and decided to admit defeat and booked into the ibis budget which was my lowlight of the day which cost 49£ inc.parking. I have stayed at your hotel before and have to say your rooms are beautiful and your service is of the highest standard, Im interested to hear your thoughts on the matter and urge to check cctv if you are in any doubt of my story. My car is a black bmw... Best Wishes, The reply I received was in the line of they checked cctv and receptionist left at 10:07pm, nothing about how the phone line they gave is just a dead line and email address advertised isn’t the real one and just bounces back!... There was no apology for person picking up receptionist blocking the entrance which meant I was late. They in no words told me to bugger off and use another hotel in future.... As I said lovely hotel, lovely facilities and very clean but do they deserve my money and your money, I would say absolutely not as they have a poor attitude towards their paying guests.....

We arrived at the hotel for them to tell us that our booking was cancelled 3 months ago. There wasn't a suitable room available for us, as per our booking, However the staff made a plan for us... The room was comfortable and breakfasts were good.

Booked here with 2 other friends for boxing event. Greeting was excellent given lots of information and he was very friendly. No issues parked up ok but is narrow coming out. Breakfast was sausage sandwich which was delivered to the room. Room was comfortable double bed and sofa bed. Decent condition. Would recommend as great value and service

I booked this room for a special occasion. Unfortunately the hospitalisation and impending death of my mother forced me to change my plans. Booking.com were happy to cancel the booking and asked the Ascott - they refused. We contacted the Ascott about this - they hung up the phone on us. This hotel is obviously only interested in money - they are now advertising our room for £40 less than the amount they refuse to refund to me. They would not let me move the date either. As far as I am concerned they can put the money I paid them where the sun does not shine. I will not contemplate using them ever again.

Spent the night at the Ascott and what a gem of a place! The hotel is beautiful the staff very friendly and our room was fabulous, beautiful decorated , the bed was so comfy and lots of nice touches. Breakfast was first class, good quality and plentiful and lady taking the order was lovely. This was our first visit but definitely not our last. Highly recommend.

We stayed in this hotel for one night on a trip to Manchester. It was a very nice hotel though a bit dated in places. Looked like it could do with a make over though the old fashioned feel was nice. The lady that greeted us in the afternoon when we arrived was lovely and helpful. Very close to the tram link into Manchester. Only main downside was the breakfast and the member of staff there. He seemed to be tired and just wanted to get rid of us. The breakfast was toast and cereal without paying for the full English upgrade. All in all for one night it was lovely but would probably choose somewhere else to stay next time.
