Booked here with 2 other friends for boxing event. Greeting was excellent given lots of information and he was very friendly. No issues parked up ok but is narrow coming out. Breakfast was sausage sandwich which was delivered to the room. Room was comfortable double bed and sofa bed. Decent condition. Would recommend as great value and service
I booked this room for a special occasion. Unfortunately the hospitalisation and impending death of my mother forced me to change my plans. Booking.com were happy to cancel the booking and asked the Ascott - they refused. We contacted the Ascott about this - they hung up the phone on us. This hotel is obviously only interested in money - they are now advertising our room for £40 less than the amount they refuse to refund to me. They would not let me move the date either. As far as I am concerned they can put the money I paid them where the sun does not shine. I will not contemplate using them ever again.
Spent the night at the Ascott and what a gem of a place! The hotel is beautiful the staff very friendly and our room was fabulous, beautiful decorated , the bed was so comfy and lots of nice touches. Breakfast was first class, good quality and plentiful and lady taking the order was lovely. This was our first visit but definitely not our last. Highly recommend.
We stayed in this hotel for one night on a trip to Manchester. It was a very nice hotel though a bit dated in places. Looked like it could do with a make over though the old fashioned feel was nice. The lady that greeted us in the afternoon when we arrived was lovely and helpful. Very close to the tram link into Manchester. Only main downside was the breakfast and the member of staff there. He seemed to be tired and just wanted to get rid of us. The breakfast was toast and cereal without paying for the full English upgrade. All in all for one night it was lovely but would probably choose somewhere else to stay next time.
Lovely little hotel with friendly staff and beautifully decorated rooms. Breakfast was very tasty too! It was the perfect location for us as we were seeing something at Manchester arena and Eccles train station is a short walk away from the hotel and trains run every hour. Thank you for a great stay!
Stayed here recently as me and my partner were in Manchester to watch the Manchester United game. I was looking for hotels around the area, this was only 3 miles from the city centre so that was a really good plus. Got into the room around 1pm and it is a very lovely room, perfect size for a couple, however was very cold and was told the heating doesn't come on until 4.30pm. Wasn't a major issue as we set off straight away after dropping bags off, maybe just something to bear in mind as we are still in the winter season! Bed is really comfy and nice bedding, bathroom could be improved a bit as doesn't look the best but overall the room is above average. Parking is a bit tight so something to bear in mind when arriving! Really enjoyed the breakfast included which we went for a sausage sandwich and it also came with fresh orange juice. Overall for the price this is a good hotel and would consider returning in the future.
We stayed here last night and it's really nice. Big old rooms with nice decor and furnishings. Lots of period features and stylish paintings and mirrors. Room was vey quiet with large flat screen TV, comfy bed with lovely bedding. Free wifi and good hot showers. We were greeted by a really nice lady called Angela and she showed us around and then gave us tips on how to get into Manchester on the metro. It was only a 10 minute walk to the station and a nice ride into town where we went round the Christmas markets. It's an independent hotel and it's nice to have the personal touches that you don't get in the larger corporate trains. We didn't book breakfast as wanted a lie in but they still brought us toast, orange juice and preserves up to the room completely without charge. We could have had bacon or sausage barms if we wanted. So if looking for a nice place to stay then book here with confidence. Great value for money. P
I’m writing this review on behalf of my mum and Dad who stayed there last weekend. They asked that I make sure I wrote a review as they had a lovely stay. The staff were amazing and really accommodating. The cooked breakfast was first class and the location and area itself was really good. A few minutes walk to town, with shops and bars and the tram into Manchester City centre. Overall a great spot, which they would recommend to anyone looking a nice, clean and very comfortable hotel for a wee getaway for any occasion.
We stayed at this boutique hotel to be be near the hospital as the rush hour traffic is bad. We were near Salford Royal, and the hotel ticked all the boxes. Big smile when we arrived even though we arrived noon and usually you cannot check in til 2.00. Beautiful room, walked down into Moncton in the evening had a nice Italian went back with a bottle to hotel watched tv . The furnishings the standards and the breakfasts are all tip top. Rather like sharrow bay but nowhere near the price.
Stayed at the Ascott on a business trip. Points to be aware of all Minor things, I booked in, early and came back later, and the parking was quite tight, but the receptionist warned me in advance that it was busy to be fair. The only other thing is that the entrance to get to the car park is quite tight (so take care). The Wifi signal was a bit poor in my room. I suspect the problem could be really easily fixed with a plug-in and an extender. Other than that it was a really pleasant stay. The receptionist was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful, The room looked great and the bed was huge and about the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I would definitely recommend, and will likely stay here in the future.
