We stayed at this boutique hotel to be be near the hospital as the rush hour traffic is bad. We were near Salford Royal, and the hotel ticked all the boxes. Big smile when we arrived even though we arrived noon and usually you cannot check in til 2.00. Beautiful room, walked down into Moncton in the evening had a nice Italian went back with a bottle to hotel watched tv . The furnishings the standards and the breakfasts are all tip top. Rather like sharrow bay but nowhere near the price.
Stayed at the Ascott on a business trip. Points to be aware of all Minor things, I booked in, early and came back later, and the parking was quite tight, but the receptionist warned me in advance that it was busy to be fair. The only other thing is that the entrance to get to the car park is quite tight (so take care). The Wifi signal was a bit poor in my room. I suspect the problem could be really easily fixed with a plug-in and an extender. Other than that it was a really pleasant stay. The receptionist was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful, The room looked great and the bed was huge and about the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I would definitely recommend, and will likely stay here in the future.
Really enjoyed my stay here, outstanding value. Comfortable bed, nice homely room, free parking and Wi-fi, friendly staff and finally a gorgeous breakfast. Plenty of choice and good ingredients with the full English. The hotel is also easy walking distance (8 mins) to a few nice restaurants and bars. All in all definitely recommend!
Have stayed here twice now when visiting family in Manchester. Very close to Manchester city centre ( 15 mins drive) and so much better than staying in the cheaper chain hotels. Rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. Owners helpful and friendly . Great breakfast, cooked to order. Parking on site Will definitely stay again!
I've been fortunate to have been staying in this lovely hotel and used 3 of the rooms at different stays. It is so warm and inviting a place to relax after a hard day. They have kept all the period qualities without compromising god standards. Angela our host is fab, very friendly and cheery girl. Unfortunately ive not been able to sample the breakfast as work takes me out too early but the dining area is beautiful with a view over a delightful back court with seating areas for lazy days in the sun. Good internet in all rooms and cleaned on a regular basis. Im back home working now but cant wait to get back. Also within a 5 min walk of Monton village where you can enjoy fine dining and fast food with lots of choice of pubs and bistros. Great place to commute from around Manchester.
We stayed at the Ascott Hotel on 1st October. This is a lovely B & B and handy for a trip to Manchester if you don't want the hustle and bustle of the city. The rooms and lovely and well presented and exceptionally clean. The hosts are always welcoming. Monton is good for various bars, pubs and restaurants. Eccles is 5 minutes walk and has Smiths restaurant which is always excellent.
Had a lovely overnight stay at this hotel The rooms was beautifully decorated and very clean and tidy. We also had breakfast which was lovely too with plenty of choice. The room had all the amenties you could need including tea and coffee making facilities. The owners were very friendly and wanted to make sure we was happy with everything. Its also very close to all the attractions in Manchester.
We booked a one night stay for a visit to Old Trafford. The rooms were reasonable and we had the £79 double in room 10. The interior of the hotel was lovely, good car parking and a good breakfast. Bubble bath was provided for the bath which seems to be a rarity! Conveniently located to explore Manchester and surrounding areas. Would return if back in the area.
whilst working in Manchester I found this little hotel and stayed for over a year . one of the most comfortable places I have stayed. the building is an old house and is a bit quirky but the owners and staff are exceptionally welcoming , it doesn't have a bar or do evening meals but it's location more than makes up for that , with good restaurants and down to earth pubs within 5-10 minutes walk in either direction. it offers budget priced rooms as well as more expensive accommodation with good links via road and rail to the centre of Manchester right on the doorstep. all in all I would definitely stay there again next time I am down that way.
A medium sized Guesthouse tastefully decorated in a style reminiscent of a bygone era of genteel cultural munificence. The building & rooms are equipped with all mod cons and are completely comfortable albeit variable in dimensions, natural light & situation (front, side & rear facing). This was a mayoral residence & the building retains its old school charm but some may find parts of it tight: by American standards it would be considered cramped. The standard full breakfast is more than adequate & cooked with due care & diligence. Service is very pleasant & even when busy, most efficient. Second updated review I am editing my review after my second visit in July 2017 and have removed my earlier 4 star rating. David is an excellent and kindly host and this establishment is by far one of the most superb establishments I've had the pleasure to stay in that is not a five star hotel. Firstly, it is discerningly furnished and tastefully decorated in a style reminiscent of a bygone era of genteel cultural munificence. The building & rooms while equipped with all necessary mod cons are completely comfortable albeit variable in dimensions, natural light & situation (front, side & rear facing). This was originally a mayoral residence & the building retains its old school charm. Public areas are unfortunately limited in that it's the lounge where one eats breakfast - but again the furniture and fittings are of very high standard. Secondly, the standard full breakfast provided is more than pleasantly adequate & cooked with due care & diligence by the very good and attentive staff. Service is always kind and considerate even when busy, which is often. Thirdly, where nowadays would you find in your small meagre bedroom tea/coffee tray one that provides Horlicks along with hot chocolate and a range of good teas' and coffees'? Yet another instance of generosity of spirit and a quiet attention to detail. Fourthly, the prices for such a deliberately well thought out Guesthouse are ridiculously low - especially when compared to what's available in a two to three mile radius of this location in Ascott's price range. Fifthly, and this is really a personal preference, it's just the perfect right size. Any bigger and it would lose it's very specific charm.
