I play a game that if I can see whales or dolphins from inside a house, I win. Shalimere wins. Gorgeous views from the house, deck, and hot tub. Access to a beautiful private beach. The house and space is fantastic. The kitchen has all the tools you need - I always take a range of kitchen utensils and items to VRBOs, Shalimere had it all. The bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely. The hosts, Michelle and Dave, are so communicative and helpful. We loved it so much, we are coming back next summer!

Peaceful getaway

Couldn't have been better. Aside from the welcome sounds of surf & birds, this is the quietest place ever. Combine that with time in the hot tub, and you reach absolute relaxation in no time at all. Our hosts provided very clear instructions, so we didn't need to guess about anything. Tastefully designed and well-lit spaces, well-equipped kitchen, incredible views. Hope to be back!

We Love Irish Beach

We’ve stayed at Irish Beach many times over the years but this was our first time at Shalamere. We love the access to the private beach and will definitely be back!!!

Perfection in every way

We have rented houses 2-3X a year on the "Mendocino" coast, never the same one twice, for 20 years. Not sure why, guess they all left something to be desired. Well we have finally found the place! We are going to rebook again and make it our go to rental on the coast. The owners are great to deal with. We had to reschedule to to a family issue and they were very accommodating. And My dog Daisy love the dog bed too!

Nature and nurture

Well appointed kitchen made cooking easy and huge windows and sliding doors made for great viewing and listening to the ocean. Easy driving to old growth redwoods and great beaches. The hot tub under the stars was soothing, beds were comfortable and the gas stove was charming.

Warren Family on Adventure!

Shalimere was perfect for us to unwind from hectic holiday plans.This is our third or fourth stay and we will definitely be back! If you are looking for a clean, lovely home with all the amenities you could want or need,this is the vacation home for you. We had long walks on Irish Beach and Bowling Ball beach, checked out the town of Mendocino and played an epic game of Monopoly!

Perfect Coastal Get Away

We loved our stay here. The house was beautiful with so many windows looking out at the ocean, a cozy gas fireplace, a hot tub on the deck, perfect master bedroom with huge shower. We didn't want to leave. A closet full of board games and also a large TV with Dish and all the streaming channels. We never ran out of things to do. Will definitely stay again.

Sanctuary

My husband and our two pups had a relaxing, fun and enjoyable time. Having one big great room to hang out was perfect for spending time together. The views were ever changing. Plenty of games. Cozy fire. Hot tub on point. Don’t miss out on this one. Plus Point Arena and Elk have an amazing food scene. The local S&B market has everything you want and need. Thanks for having us!

Great stay at Shalimere!

We loved everything about Shalimere! The communication from Dave and Michelle was outstanding and we couldn't ask for a better location. The kitchen was very well appointed and everything was very clean. We even got a glimpse of the Bobcat a couple of time. We tried one of their recommendations for restaurants in Mendocino and had a great meal. I would definitely stay at Shalimere again!

Peaceful and relaxing

We stayed at shalimere to see the Northern California coast. This house was a good value with great views of the ocean and point arena lighthouse, and is located just off the main highway but enough away that we did not hear traffic. The house is comfortable and clean, as pictured. We would stay again. We like to take road trips with our dog, so much appreciate hosts who are willing to allow dogs. Not good cell service here, but the Internet WiFi worked for us. Any questions we had were answered quickly.

A little slice of heaven in Pacific Coast

Fabulous Getaway!

My husband, adult son, and our dog fully enjoyed this getaway - nice place to walk and run with hills for a bonus workout. The beach was great. The home is beautiful, clean, and comfortable.

Beautiful home to soak it all in

We loved this property. What a view! We did see a bobcat out back one day which was pretty neat. So peaceful and the fireplace made the great room so cozy. Fully stocked kitchen had everything we needed and the grocery store in Manchester was not too far away for supplies. We didn’t make it down to the beach as we were in town for a wedding but from a distance it looked like a great place to explore. We has a wonderful stay!

Paradise Revisited

My husband and I have traveled to Irish Beach many times. This was our second stay at Shalimere. We enjoyed the large great room and open kitchen with beautiful views of the ocean. We especially liked the wrap-around deck and high beam wooden ceilings in the living area. We stayed home and cooked our dinner every day as most of the restaurants were closed (Monday-Wednesday). The convenience of the BBQ was appreciated. Our two pups loved the walks on Irish Beach. The solitude and peace of the beach area were just what we needed to escape the heat and congestion of Southern California. The house is a throw back to the 70's with the original features of when it was first built. The kitchen appliances and sink have been upgraded, but the original oak cabinets are still there. The bathrooms also appear to have the original tile which gives it a retro vibe. We appreciate the wonderful relaxing stay that Shalimere offered us. It is a sanctuary for those who need a little peace in their lives.
