Casa La Sultana - Luxury designer home

Casa La Sultana is a stunning home in the heart of the beautiful colonial city of Granada, Nicaragua. Located on a private gated street just three blocks from La Calzada (Granada’s main pedestrian street) the villa was designed with an eclectic world décor mixed with traditional colonial accents, which is unique in Central America.
The ground floor has an open-space living and dining area designed in a Marrakech riad-style around a lushly planted inner courtyard with a private pool and double sun-beds.
Casa La Sultana was featured on the home page of Architectural Digest for its unique design. The tiles throughout the property were custom designed, as were each of the pieces of furniture. Kilims were imported from Turkey, fabrics from Italy and India, lanterns from Morocco. Lamps, table and chairs were all custom-designed and made locally.
The villa has four spacious air-conditioned bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The three king-size bedrooms on the second floor enjoy a terrace with views of both the main cathedral and the Mombacho volcano. A stunning lower level queen bedroom is easily accessible for those not wanting to climb the stairs and opens up to the inner courtyard and swimming pool.
Casa La Sultana comes with a fully equipped kitchen and all the amenities and luxuries you could want, including free WiFi access, a 70” flatscreen TV, secure onsite parking and a night guard.
Wander around the picturesque streets of Granada and discover why they call this colonial gem ‘La Gran Sultana’. At the end of a day of sightseeing, return to your haven of tranquility and take a plunge in the pool or enjoy the magical sunset from the comfort of your terrace.

Casa La Sultana in La Gran Sultana

The property is STUNNING. The bedrooms with the ensuite bathrooms and AC were very comfortable. Because the design of the home is open concept, it can get dusty and tiny ants can get into anything you leave out in the open. This by no means ruined the experience for me, just thought it was worth mentioning for those not used to living in a climate like Nica's. As Granada is a very walkable city (albeit very dark at night), the location of the house is convenient. It is also very quiet as it is 3 blocks away from La Calzada (Granad's main artery). The housekeeper and the night guard were very helpful and friendly. They were a joy to communicate with.

Fantastic, eclectic escape.

We had a fantastic time at La Sultana. Beautiful home, generous spaces and the pool at the center of the patio is just such a nice feature. Walking distance of most great restaurants. We loved it; thank you!
