Our expectations of Tadrai were to have a luxurious, all inclusive holiday with no holds barred. We splurged on helicopter transfers to and from the island and paid approximately $1600AUD / night for our annual holiday. (There are no transfers included in this rate or daily massages) Were we mistaken!!! The staff at this resort are beautiful people and will do whatever they can to assist. However other than the service, it was an absolute disappointment. There is no fresh water. The desalination unit was not working properly. All showers are strong salt water taste and feel. The ice in drinks is made from the same salt water and tea and coffee has the same salty taste. If you Spend too long here, it will harden your arteries. Some of the meals were inedible. The best meals were the local dishes that were cooked in traditional ways. We had this twice during a 5 night stay. The serving sizes are too big and a lot of waste with oversized meals. Snorkelling is included however there are 10 sets of snorkelling equipment at the resort so if another person takes the Same size as you, sorry you miss out. For your all inclusive drinks and nibbles these are the cheapest selection money can buy. We did happen to ask for a bottle of imported vodka, however Once this was discovered, all 10 guests drank it, so it lasted only 1 night and was not restocked on the stores run to town. Then there was a tube of sun cream that we were charged $37 Fiji for even though the price tag said $19.80. The rooms don’t lock and you can walk straight out of the room with your safe. This resort was a real disappointment. Good on the staff that are giving it their best shot, the owners need to make some major changes for this place to improve.
The staff at this resort are absolutely beautiful people! They worked so hard to please all the guests. A special mention to Wise at the bar and Jimmy and Tony on the boat. Jimmy and Tony took us out on the boat whenever we wanted. We saw the most incredible reefs and went fishing having the most personalised experience. These activities were also included in the cost which was a great bonus. The island is beautiful with lovely rooms, however the beach is quite pebbly. Tadrai is on a shared island with people from other resorts often walking past. This resort has been advertised as a 5 star luxury resort and it is not quite the case. The rooms and dining area although are comfortable and pleasant, are dated and needing updating. The food unfortunately was the worst shock when arriving here. The menu (yes only 1 for the whole dining area) is peeling, stained and ripped. The menu changes daily however the options were limited to usually 2-3 mains and I was often told a dish was unavailable. Guests are also made to choose their lunch and dinner off the menu at breakfast! The food was unacceptable for the prices being charged. I assumed the food would be incredible however, our food was often left behind on our table because it was inedible or of bad quality. Most of the seafood seemed frozen then thawed. One night I ordered a dish (at breakfast) for dinner and later received the wrong one. When I told the staff, I was then told it was an accident but it would take too long to remake mine so had to eat the dish I was given. I now assume because no one else ordered what I ordered they just ‘accidentally’ gave me the wrong dish. I must note that I believe the cooks were doing their best within a strict budget. The staff were working as hard as they could however you can tell the situation is out of their hands with no money or proper management from the owners being put into this resort. What a let down. We were so excited to come to Tadrai but within a few minutes of being there we were disappointed. I hope this message gets passed on to the owners and they understand that this resort has the potential to be incredible but needs much more work put in to it! I must stress this is not a reflection on the staff at Tadrai Island Resort as they worked tirelessly to help the guests. This is something that needs to be addressed by the owners.
We stayed 5 nights and from reviews were expecting a fabulous, luxury experience. This wasn’t exactly what we got. On arrival we moored several metres from the shore and had to walk knee deep in water, a BIG surprise. They need to invest in a jetty to allow guests a better experience so not getting wet every time you want to leave the resort. The villas are spacious and clean with incredible views, a little tired. The villas are on the beach front and have other hotel guests regularly walk past your pool and balcony. The staff are outstanding, our favourites being our housekeeper, Angela and boat drivers, Jimmy and Tony. The quality of the food, beer and wine choices were disappointing with some meals being picked over and vastly left due to the poor taste and quality. We had a bottle of Chandon on arrival and again as farewell for our last dinner, bit cheap. Same with the cocktails, average making tho large selection, spirits are cheap as are the room snacks. The massage experience was impersonable, no choices of oils, no towels offered for decency, no music - lacks ambience and were rubbed all over very quickly, poor massage. The water plant breaks down a lot also and the water is VERY salty. Overall, the resort is in an amazing place and the staff are fabulous! – just not luxury and left feeling it is not value for money. We were there to relax and do little so we made the most of our stay and quietness – if you are looking to do lots of activities then choose another.
A perfect quiet Island holiday with very warm and friendly staff. Wais the bartender was hilariously entertaining, Inoke the Manager was fantastic as were Nanisi, and Geraldine. Massages were awesome in a hut over looking the water. The food was amazing, bearing in mind the remote location, they still had a variety of food. Villa number 5 is the best for privacy and views. The gorgeous outdoor bathroom had a tub with an ocean view opening onto the dipping pool.
"Isa Lei" the Fiji farewell song was only sung to my husband & myself this morning as we left Tadrai. So sad to leave, I felt quite emotional as really didn't want to leave but had to keep telling myself the happy memories will always be with us. Returning to Tadrai would also be amazing again one day We had our helicopter transfer from Nadi airport early in the morning & arrived while other guests were having breakfast. Every guest rose out of their chairs to greet us. The staff warmly welcomed us with a delicious freshly made fruit punch, cold towel & breakfast. We immediately felt at home & totally on our happy space. We met guests from Australia, New Zealand & even Mexico. We really enjoyed the casual relaxed way of the resort, guests & staff. Meal times we shared lots of laughs & conversations. And there was still plenty of space & time to enjoy one on one conversations with my husband. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary & we both agreed Tadrai made all our dreams come true. Tadrai go out of their way to make you happy & everyday was more surprises & amazements A special mention to Jimmy, our activities man. He had a beautiful Fijian warmth about him & we will never forget his gorgeous smile. If we wanted to go snorkelling in the afternoon, he would be there with a blink of the eye. And off we went in the boat to a beautiful reef, every time we came back with more gorgeous underwater surprises. We saw reef sharks, turtles, the "nemo" family & so many colourful fish & live coral Thankyou to Carlos too who climbed up a tree near our bure every morning & bought us a fresh coconut to drink from! Delicious! We loved the cocktails Weis & Ricco made too & looked after us so well!! And trust me, if you go to Tadrai, you will drink lots of cocktails!! Our final night (only last night) was so special. The milk bath is set up ready for you at a time that suits you. Candles burning & floating flowers. The lobster dinner was amazing which was followed by a super delicious 25th anniversary cake (another total surprise for us) I could talk about Tadrai forever but I will just say I highly recommend Tadrai for a total package that be amaze you as it did us. And this trip was my 10th visit to Fiji & Tadrai topped my best Fiji holiday place I have ever visited We are back on the Fijian mainland at a hotel in Denaru before we fly home.....& a big mass produced 5 star hotel with hundreds of guests is really impossible to take after Tadrai. I watched the sunset from Denaru tonight & looked over at the islands where Tadrai sits & dreamed I was back there. Miss you Tadrai!! Thankyou to Nashtenka , Nancy & all the staff at Tadrai. You all work so hard to make guests like ourselves dreams come true. We hope to visit again one day , VINAKA
We just spent five incredible nights at Tadrai celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived we were treated so incredibly. Every single staff member was so welcoming and made us feel at home, with Wais and Rico in particular providing incredible service. They truly went above and beyond to give us an amazing trip and magical anniversary celebration. The location itself is stunning, food and drinks were plentiful and delicious, and the activities on offer were fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the sunset cruise and our champagne picnic on a secluded sandbar to celebrate our anniversary. Lots of little touches really took this trip to the next level for us. We cannot wait to return!
Tadrai Resort is a dream come true. It is a holiday that really gives you a break. The staff made my holiday they are on call to meet your every need. It was relaxed yet full of activities to suit your level of adventure. The rooms were so comfortable and a high standard of cleanliness achieved on a daily basis. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable. The staff made my trip they are gracious, friendly, warm and available. Nothing is too hard for them and they accomodate every wish and make your time each day a momentous one. I cannot recommend Tadrai more highly and miss the people and the place immensely. Everything is included at Tadrai so you do not have to once reach into your wallet so you can spend your time care free and without any stress. Thank you Tadrai you gave me my dream come true.......
Went to Tadrai for five nights on our honeymoon. Upon arrival, we were rushed past the customary Fijian welcome. Over the six days it became evident that there was little management or staff training. For small details like lighting the candles at dinner, or playing some music, one had to ask. .At lunchtime, I had to ask the manager to tell his workman to stop hammering and cutting underneath our restaurant deck which has been going on for days. The service seemed to become less and less as the days went by. No turn-down service, etc, etc. On our last day, we barely received a goodbye. While the room was lovely and the food was quite good, all-in-all we found it to be overpriced and quite disappointing.
My partner and I recently spent 5 nights at Tadrai Island Resort for our Honeymoon and it was honestly one of the best experiences of our lives! From the moment we stepped off the helicopter (actually even before that with the communication from Nashtenka after our flight was slightly delayed) staff could not have done enough to ensure our stay was magical. Jimmy the activities coordinator was also on hand to ensure that we could do just about any activity we desired. Angela who helped keep our room tidy was amazing, she was incredibly kind and always smiling, And Wais the bartender always ensured we had a great drink in our hands while providing some great entertainment and laughter. The food provided by the resort exceeded our expectations along with everything else. The rooms are a perfect size with the stunning semi outdoor bathroom and plunge pool you could never leave your room if you desired but my partner and I really enjoyed going up to the bar for an afternoon cocktail and meals as the staff became more like friends! You will not be disappointed in this stunning resort and we are already planning our next trip back and we only left 3 nights ago! Thank you so much to the amazing staff at Tadrai, each and everyone of you contributed hugely to our amazing trip!
Highly recommend Tadrai Resort for those who want to get away from it all. Woke up to sunrise over the sea through our bure’s windows. Stunning. Breakfast by the pool or in your room anytime you want it. Lunch and dinner the same and bar open all day. We had an all inclusive package with return helicopter transfers. Spent a few hours on a deserted private island/beach with lunch brought out to us. Sunset cruise. Snorkelling trips to stunning coral and fish or just chill by the pool. Coconut milk bath on final night and dinner on the beach. Highly recommended. Very attentive staff.
