Lots of options for pools, beaches and water sport activities. Didn’t need to leave the resort.

Everything was great! Great food and service and the location was beautiful.

The setting of the property is ideal with the cool ocean breeze on one side and the calm warm bay on the other. The hilly landscape provides beautiful views and is great for a vigorous walk. Shuttles are provided for the handicapped.

I liked the location and the property layout. Our room was near everything (pool, bar and restaurants). What I did not like was it took us 2 hrs to check in cause we were wanting for a room, them they upgraded us to a jr suite and on the 2nd day they started doing construction on the outside bathroom that was against our wall. It was so loud we had the volume on 50 and still could not hear it. They said it was supposed to be 2 days and offered to move us. We declined on moving but the construction lasted 5 days until we left. They were still working on it.

Fabulous time! Couldn’t find anything to complain about. Loved the water sports staff!

Where do I begin. From the moment we checked in, it was such a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. The resort is outdated and dirty. The food display so unappealing and almost inedible to eat. The only restaurant that has a decent meal is Piccoli Mundo, which is ala carte, so in other words you must pay out of pocket to have a good meal, even though you already paid for all INCLUSIVE. We are travelers and been to many all inclusives, not quite sure what this resort was.

This private hotel complex is located with a calm bay on one side and a windy Atlantic beach on the other. Our room was on the ocean with a nice view of the sunrises. The staff kept the beaches clean and neat. The bay side offered many free and low cost water sports and clam water swimming. The majority of the staff were friendly and professional. The meals were ok. Nothing to rave about. The nightly entertainment was mostly held in a cold bar that often had an unpleasant odor. More outside entertainment on the patio would have been nice. The drinks were good, but the bars were too far from the beaches and the beach cart did not come around often enough. A snack bar on both beaches would have been nice. People were enjoying the tennis courts and gym. Our booking promised an upgrade if available when we arrived. We were told the hotel was booked and one was not available, however, as the week went by, it was very apparent that the hotel was not anywhere near capacity. The ads were also misleading about Wi-Fi being free. It was only free in certain areas- you got charges if you used it in your room. Got to see a nest of Leatherback turtles hatch. Very cool! Also enjoyed trip on the boat to snorkel in the reefs. Was sold as Catamaran trip, but was more of a tour boat. - No sails- disappointing.

Great resort, friendly staff, great food, clean rooms. If your looking for rest and relaxation you will find it here. They have a beautiful spa, watersports, tennis, billard pool tables, ping pong. I would highly recommend the snorkeling adventure with the resorts, we had a great time.

Nice spacious rooms, all the amenities, comfortable bed and pillows. Beaches are cleaned several times daily, one beach is breezy and cooler and quiet, the other is more busy, no breeze with all the water and land sports. Both beaches have easy access to a bar and a golf cart comes around with drinks. There are 2 all access pools, one kids pool, one adult pool and 2 pools with restricted access to time share or elite members. Main and largest pool has easiest access to a bar but not swim up. Food is good but will not blow your mind, though plenty of variety to not get bored if you're into trying new things. I recommend paying the extra money to go to Picolo Mundo restaurant, very good. Also recommend excursions like Stingray City and Jolly Harbor beaches. My only regret was not taking boat excursion to Barbuda for the pink sand beach

Dinner food was ok. Not that many selections and it was just ok. Cocos for lunch was best.

Just the two of us short vacation very relaxing not a lot of beach very quite

The room we booked was not available the first night. Needed to move after the first night.

Stayed here with spouse and teenaged daughter in August 2014 for a week. Accommodation in beachfront room (upper level) was excellent. Food was excellent also. The place has two beaches -- the beachfront rooms are on a fairly windy beach but the breeze keeps things cool. The bayside beach is much calmer with an offshore breeze, but also much hotter. Plenty of non-motorized boats to takes out and plenty of beach chairs. Very relaxing stay.

The location is lovely and the rooms (Royal suites) large and comfy. The food is VERY average and the service ranges from charming and efficient to downright inexcusably rude and slow. We spent a fortune and expected more luxury and attention, but that said, if you can get it at the discounted price that many others seemed to, then it would be perfectly plausible.

If you are looking for soft sandy beaches and crystal clear water, this isn't the place for you. The bay side of the hotel is what you would expect... a murky bay. Not enjoyable, many people complaining of jelly fish stings. The ocean side has a strong current and is consistently strewn with black seaweed. Food is okay for buffet style. Overall not impressed.

We have been to each end of the Caribbean, so the color and feel of the sand and the clarity of the ocean really matter us. When we arrived at the St. James Club, it seemed outdated. The rooms were bit 80's, cracked ceiling, if-y air conditioner... but worst of all was the bed. If you have a bad back, please bring your own mattress support because you'll need it. While I was ok with the room, all that matter to me was dipping my toes in the warm ocean. The ocean side of the resort has a very strong current (also very choppy) and is full of non-stop seaweed. If you have young kids like myself you will opt for the bay side. The bay side is.. well a bay. Though it has some brown sand, the further you go into the bay the muddier the bottom. Don't expect to snorkel or find any exotic fish on the bay side. The water is only clear until about 6 feet in... then very murky. As far as the food and service, I was happier with that. The main style of food is buffet, which again with small children and picky eaters makes meal time much more manageable. The food itself is good, not great. But above what is to be expected of buffet style food. They also make a point to switch of the style/theme of food every day which is nice. Overall I would not return to the resort. When I make the effort of traveling 4+ hours with kids under the age of 2, I dream of crystal clear waters and white powder sand... not so much a murky bay.

Its not Ritz in service. Very poor activities desk. We wanted to go snorkeling and were willing to pay for private tour as well but only answer we got was that none is available. We tried three times over two days but got the same answer. Very rudimentary water activities available in Mamora Bay. Excellent resort for folks in 80's. we even saw an elderly person yell at a family for being too loud who has just checked in and were having few drinks on the Coco's Bar. Do not waste time here if interested in water sports. We were upgraded to a villa which is basically a condo!! and too far away from the main building and restaurants etc. We needed a cozy room with wet bar. Should be three star

Overall our experience was excellent. But a few areas of potential improvement; 1. Too many buffet style meals. I know many people just want to eat quantity, but a buffet is always a compromise on quality. 2. The fitness room, while good, could be better. It needs eliptical trainers. Newer bike machines. Also the treadmills, though good were badly placed. Why not have them face the ocean or at least put in TVs? No one wants to stare at a wall. Need a better intro session with someone who describes the way to make the most of the facilities. That said, the watersports were great. Staff friendly and generally very helpfull. The location devine. The room well beyond our expectation. The pools and drinks fabulous. Piccolo Mondo worth the extra (we dined there twice). I'd love to go back.

I needed a room for myself and my nephew after a week of sailing around Antigua and Barbuda. The St. James Club was reasonably priced and provided a great place to wind down after an exciting week on the windy and high seas. I relished the long hot show and the time lounging by the pool drinking refreshing rum drinks and watching the other travelers. The grounds were well kept and beautiful, although the road to the hotel is full of pot holes and stirred a lot of criticism from the warm and friendly taxi driver, [...]. The staff was all very engaging and seemed generally interested in meeting the needs of the guest. I felt the hotel was safe but the doors and locks seemed a bit flimsy to me although a safe was in the room for valuables. Don't miss taking about a half mile walk out the front gate to the nearby Hideaway restaurant which was delightful. All in all it was a very good experience and a good value for the money.

Our region of islands are calm and peaceful for the more discerning client looking to relax from the everyday stress. We apologize our beautiful beaches and unobtrusive staff was not what you had hoped for on your holiday.

Dear Curt and Nancy, Thank you for your comments which will not go un-noticed. We are consistently working to improve our product .Free upgrades are based on our availability. WiFi is available in all public areas. We are still working on getting Wi-Fi throughout the property as it’s a little difficult in Antigua. Again thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
