We had two rooms booked of which an ac in one of the rooms was not working. The receptionist told us that they cannot fix it. She tried to give us another room and still ac not working. Also no fans available. We decided to stay in 1 room since could not sleep without ac cause it was very hot. We asked for a folding bed and they told us they do not have folding bed they can only offer a mattress. So one of us had to sleep on a mattress for 2 nights. The hotel is dirty, dust everywhere, ragged and ribbed curtains. At first the receptionist told us that she will give us a refund since we only used 1 room, when we were leaving and we asked for a refund, she told us that she need to discuss with management. After a month we're still without a reply and a refund. Avoid this hotel.
after staying at st patricks the previous year we thought we would give this place a try. we stay in malta various times every year & always make a short stop over in xlendi as it is a great little place to stay. we did read up on the reviews & found that the place was getting a bad time of it but the manager replied to most with good explanations & promises of change due to a new revamp with eu funding changes of staff ect ect. on arrival my wife went to check in whilst i found the the car park & brought the luggage only to find her sat in the lobby on her own with no room key. someone appeared 10 minutes later very stressed i asked for our key & he said he was going to sort it. out popped a young person , they had a chat & i heard him say yes it is clean. so i assumed that was our room. now approaching 2.30. half hour wait. we were then shown our room. 3 lifts later with various ups & downs we got there. first impressions were good. a bit dated but very spacious with a nice feel to it. however nothing worked... the tvs were running on 2 pin plugs which were forced into standard plug sockets by forcing down the earth pin but we couldn't watch any as there was no batteries in the remote. we had two ac units but only enough batteries to run one remote. got one running in the kids room but ours one we worked it out dripped condensation all over our bed.the Jacuzzi bath was good in its day but totally knackered with the pump sounding like an alley cat. an old kettle was there to use for a coffee in the morning but we couldn't light the hob the ignition was broke & we didn't smoke plus reception is 3 lifts away.... i wont complain to much about the mould on the walls & broken concrete on the Bannister rails as we no you are being refurbed. but finding old receipts from the previous occupant on top of furniture in clear view is not acceptable. this room was rushed together as we waited in reception. my wife & daughter now spent a couple of hours on the rooftop in the pool. the pool was very nice, very clean & in good order. lovely views with great potential. there was a bar were you could get refreshments but it was closed & never opened our whole stay. to get a drink of water in 34 degrees heat she had to go back down the 3 lift journey to reception wait for someone to appear buy some drinks then go back up so as you can imagine she packed up & joined us in the bay. breakfast was very good value with a good choice for a mainly continental style but only if you get what you ordered. we managed about 70% of ours to be correct with a good few things we didn't order so obviously on another table. when we tried to get the things we didn't get we waited way to long with still only part of the order arriving so we didn't complain put up & left . also forgot to mention workmen wanting to look at the ac came knocking to get in our room 9am .politely told them to do one.... they came back as we were packing the last of our stuff so i let them in as i had had enough now & didn't care just wanted to get back to Malta. overall you have a hotel here with great potential. this has been a great place in the past but it is very run down in places. you are very under staffed. your staff are very friendly & polite but seem to lack proper training or enough management & guidance. you can still run a budget hotel without the things we encountered. i hope one day the place gets back to its former glory as i do believe it could be a great hotel in lovely part of gozo. i paid the same here as i payed in st patricks last year so so wasn't a cost issue i also wont upload the photos we have as i think we have said enough. this place needs to pull its socks up bigtime phil & charlie ps as an electrician i must add with what we encountered in the rooms with the badly maintained equipment you also have no RCD protection on your distribution boards & i believe this regulation should apply in all eu countries ???
Am not being funny but everyone complaining about this hotel must realise it is a 2* up and coming hotel. U are paying next to nothing and still complain. The bar staff are lovely, the pool is fantastic and what a view! The new manager is turning this hotel around and what a job it must be for him, credit where credit is due
The hotel Xlendi is very well situated and agreeable informal. The apartment was large and comfortable Reception always attentive and knowledgeable with a beautiful foyer. The bay is very close indeed and a guest can easily find spaces to enjoy the scenery.
We visited recently and were nicely surprised. Room very clean and comfortable and great view from the balcony. A few improvements could be made to make it a fantastic hotel. New shower curtains and holder for the shower as ours wouldn't stay up. Reception isn't manned all the time as staff doing multiple jobs. Coffee tasted very poor.In fairness we didn't report this so they didn't have opportunity to fix this However when they were there they were very helpful and accommodating and even offered to extend our check out for free so we didnt have to wait around at our next hotel. Would stay there again.
This was a very disappointing experience. As soon as we arrived there was a person behind a bar who acted as a receptionist, concierge etc He checked us in and guided us to our room. It was very spacious but disgusting!! The floors were filthy. The curtain was torn in half, the bathroom floor was full of water and footprints. The tiles were dirty & ugly. The balcony overlooked a terrace and it had an ugly table and unmatching chairs in it. We ended up paying extra money to upgrade to a deluxe seafront room which was just fine apart from the fact that the lift was super dirty on our way up. The breakfast was also a complete joke!!! Not to be recommended.
Been There this past few days and we did not expect that with that price we ar going to get that highly professional service. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Staff were all helpful and make you feel like you are in a palace not a hotel.
The views from this hotel and the location was simply stunning. Breakfast on the rooftop was a complete delight looking out over the impossibly blue/green see, the beautiful cliffs and charming little bay. The staff were simply lovely. Sorry all at Xlendi if you are reading this as I am terrible with names but the wonderful lady from Northern Ireland who gave us local advice / booklet, the lovely chap from Romania who brought us our breakfast, the lovely english lady who gave us mimossas for breakfast!, the lovely receptionist who chased up our tour company to get our pick up times and all the other lovely people, in just a week we felt like part of a family. Thank you everyone. We had this wonderful quirky hotel pretty much to ourselves and whilst we didn't really use them it had a fair few amenities, indoor pool, gym, rooftop pool etc. The lifts were just crazy and we never did get the hang of going up in the first lift for 2 floors, going through a corridor to a glass lift to the 7th floor, then down in a completely different lift 2 floors. we took the stairs, it kept us fit and it was incredibly funny getting lost on occasions. the rooms were extremely spacious, great views, and had fans and air con. As well as overlooking the bay its worth mentioning the stunning walks from the hotel. It feels like you can just walk round the cliffs forever and every view is amazing. These cliff walks are certainly not for the fainthearted however so be warned but well worth the effort. One morning we walked to the azure window (about 3 hours). I do realize this hotel is not going to be to everyone's taste and if you wanted to nitpick i guess there are things you could have found, but for us it was the perfect mixture of wonderful location, amazing staff, nice breakfasts and wonderfully quirky interiors. Thank you everyone at Xlendi for the perfect week.
Hotel was good.we booked for two days bed and breakfast but went we went for the breakfast we were very disappointed because we ask for some item and the waiter told us it s finish even cheese and the toast we shared with other two customer.and for bacon and eggs we have to pay .we never went to any hotel and served breakfast like this
Bed great, mould on bath and shower curtain. Very strange route to the room - two lifts with a short walk in between. No electric kettle - old, heat on gas ring kettle! Lovely view but hole in the sliding door where the handle should be! Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast good but labour intensive. Would go back.
