Where to start it was dirty, no window to open, no outside space, no pool, no view, I wouldn't stay here again even if it was free. No Wi-Fi, breakfast area was dirty. The lift was broken when we arrived and it broke down twice more over the next 3 days. We hated going back to the room even to sleep, please don't book this hotel.
It is annoying to me when people write detrimental reports about places because they are expecting more for what they have paid. This is a lower end priced hotel and does exactly what it says on the tin - the accommodation and breakfast buffet are limited but more than adequate. The staff are friendly and polite and the rooms are cleaned daily whilst the hotel sits in a decent location. It is not the Hilton, but you are not paying Hilton prices!!!!!.
Basic accommodation but clean and has all basics needed just need to add own tea, sugar milk as give all means of making but no ingredients. Very friendly and helpful staff.Very helpful when transfer time back to airport was messed up. It's a budget place so if you're fussy don't go but at the price you can't argue. I've stayed in places 3 times the price in England that were inferior. Great for getting about by bus as stop to Valetta over the road. Very good restaurant on ground floor if weather bad, nothing to do with hotel serves excellent seafood. All in all good value, has character which I like.
I can't believe this Hotel doesn't have free internet. They try to charge 6 euro a day for internet?. Is this a joke?. These are basic amenities for a three star hotel. Even if the wifi isn't free (which it should be) to then try and charge 6 euro a day is an insult to their customers.
Stayed here for a week great location room was ok bed really old and uncomfortable and needs replacing great air con friendly reception good value for money if you don't want any real luxury right near shops
We stayed for a week this January the hotel was basic but filled all your needs. The room was cleaned daily with a change of towels. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful when ever they were spoken to or needed. The breakfast was more than adequate being replenished when ever nessessary with no limit to what you wanted. Try to get a front room with Balcony as they have a great view, as we had a back room where view is either a brick wall or the air ducts. If you use the bus's get a weekly pass for 21 euros from the bus station it pays for its self in time. The bus from the airport takes about 1 hour and stops just down the road from the hotel. Despite it being cold out in the wind we had a great week travelling all over the Island using the bus's everywhere.
I thought the Hotel Roma was a fantastic deal for the money. It has a million-dollar view and cost less than camping in California. And it also has a decent breakfast included. Sure, the accommodations aren't five star, but it is a very well located hotel and the accommodations are decent. My room had air conditioning and a balcony that overlooked the ocean, and the ocean is so clear there that I could actually see people scuba diving underwater from my room. Several times I went out and enjoyed snorkeling right across the street as there is ocean access by ladder directly across the street. There are bus stops close by and a short walk gets you to the main harbor area in Salima, and the Vallette ferry. What more could you ask for at only €31? Hotel Roma is a great value, with a nice ocean view :)
The hotel is extremely cheap and you understand it straight away when you arrive inside - worn and torn, uncomfortable beds (your back still hurts after sleeping for a few days after your stay...), the sheets are worn, the decor is old, rooms without sea view are dark, even the door handle was broken and repaired with some white glue, directly visible at arrival! No isolation between the rooms, you hear all possible noise coming from the corridor and the neighboring rooms. The hairdryer in the room was broken - it seemed to be also outdated... We plugged the socket and during the night a bad noise started to come out of it - I thought we will end up with an electricity shortcut...Everything you touch here is worn and torn. The breakfast is also a horror - cheap orange juice, cheap bread for toasting, jams, butter replaced by spreadable fat blend from the low cost supermarket, sausage and cheese also not the top quality. Well, you get what you pay, don't be frustrated after your stay. The staff is friendly and helpful and the view from the terrace and the rooms viewing the sea is amazing. These are the only positive things about the hotel.
Just back from a week here. Hotel basic but clean room. Maid tidied up every day and clean towels. Breakfast is not great. 3 cereals or toast and watered down orange juice. Milk and ham and cheese not refrigerated. The lift is temperamental and goes up and down on its own The saving grace for this place is the balcony and the great view. Good as a base to explore. It's not expensive and this is reflected in decor and standards Cheap and basic for what you pay.
The hotel appear quite worn and could need a refurbishment of the room. It was quite cheap and as you can expect a 3-star hotel. My room had a very nice viev over the bay and the sunrise. Breakfast was quite minimal selection.
