Hotel is very dated...wouldn’t class as a 3*. But you get what you paid for.. (cheap) The staff are very friendly. The location of the hotel is great!! Close to around 6 or more restaurant. So it can be very noisy at night. Bus stop is a 1 min walk away.. to travel to other parts of the island ie Valletta. Would definitely stay here again due to its location, but that’s it!!
it is nice hotel, near the sea, next to the center of town, it has great location, rooms are nice and clean. stuff in hotel are very helpful and they do everything for guest to have great time there. you will enjoy it
The hotel was conviently situated for the harbour ,it's states a 3minute walk, that's all it was.The hotel staff were always very friendly and helpful, the rooms were always clean and plenty of fresh towels. We were half board the food was not what we expected, never had chips for breakfast before must be something new ,evening meal if you were not in early the the best food was gone, having said that some of the guests were very greedy.Would go back to the hotel but on room only, unable to give a good report about the food,a cup of tea after the evening meal would have been nice but not avalable
We have been coming to Malta for many years but never stayed in the Primera . Very pleased with it , good location , rooms clean only stayed on room only . The reception staff very friendly . Rooms cleaned daily . Nice roof terrace , our 10 year old loved the indoor pool . Everything on the doorstep . Definitely will come back to the Primera
Just returned home from another great trip to the beautiful island of Malta, where we once again stayed at the Primera hotel. The most striking change is just outside of the main doors where a beautiful new cafe bar has been built. Called "The Podium", it is light and airy, with walls and roof that open up when it gets too hot outside. Even with the roof and walls closed, there is air conditioning. While we were there, work was also being done painting and sprucing up the place. One disappointment was that the lovely Daniella has left the hotel and moved on to the Hilton, but, having said that, the remaining staff are still brilliant and can't do enough to help you with any problems you may have. the room was still clean and tidy and serviced every day unless you ask not to. I can't speak about the food as we did not eat in the hotel, we tend to wander around until we see somewhere takes our eye. As I said in my earlier review, if you want somewhere like the Hilton, then go there, but please do not Hilton style and comfort from a 3 star hotel or you will be disappointed. I have read a few reviews on here and found them to be very unfair towards the hotel and one thing I read over and over is about the "charge" for a TV remote. Please read the replies, THERE IS NOT A CHARGE for the tv remote, it is a DEPOSIT, you will get it back when you return the remote! I never use the TV myself, but seeing people complaining about it again and again drives me nuts! Another great holiday and we will see you all again in May next year.
Just had two weeks in this hotel very good service on check in lovely girls with lovely welcome rooms basic but clean only let down was no kettle but I have Maltese friend so wasn't a problem I borrowed one and cups Josephine was our room attendant always with a welcoming good morning and have a nice day credit to your hotel bit noisy on a night from the square but wouldn't put me off booking again x
Cons: 1. Room was very very dirty and neglected 2. WiFi in your room only when you pay additional fee 3. Noisy area 4. Toilet was broken 5. Miniature TV 6. Awful food 7. Level of service (one guy was unpleasand) Pros: 1. Quite good localization but very noisy 2. Bed was convenient
We originally booked to stop in the ambassador but was moved here by are travel company as we was double booked. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis only had the breakfast 3 times couldn't complain just made everything into a sandwich and ate the cereals there was always something to eat and was always warm. On one occasion we had breakfast around 7 and it was empty and then on another time 8:30 and it was rammed We went at 10 and again was empty. Never been to a hotel with staff as friendly and helpful as here they where all very polite and would have a laugh with us . One of the lads on reception printed off are boarding passes off for us. The rooms where cleaned every day to a high standard. Rented a safe and fridge for are room. The bed where ok not the best but couldn't complain. The hotel is located bam smack in the middle of everything which was good couldn't hear anything outside when the balcony door was shut. Parking is bad around the area as it is very busy. We would definitely be recommending this hotel to family and friends and will be returning.
We booked a room with terrace and they gave us one with a window to a wall. We complained and they offered us a room with a 1 square meter terrace. The area is extremely busy at night, very noisy. Breakfast was just ok... Bedsheets and towels were very good. There was 1l shower gel for us to use.
We went to the dinner buffet as non residents. What a mistake. The food was appalling. This was by far the worst food I have ever had the misfortune to eat. All of it was cold and dried up. There were no labels on anything so some dishes were unrecognizable. The waiters seemed totally disinterested and no one asked if everything was OK. Clearly they knew what the reply would be. The food made me feel nauseas. When we paid we told the waiter how terrible the food was his response was 'It's pizza night'. We told him we like pizza. Its not the dish that was the problem it was the quality. His response was to tell us to come back on curry night. We said ' you don't care do you?' and he shrugged his shoulders and said no. He looked totally unconcerned. He is probably used to complaints. Bottom line don't go!
