Was awesome to wake up in the morning, open the window and see the sunrise above the sea! The Hotel is places next to the sea, and was a great idea to book a room with full sea-view! Very good breakfast, and good access with public transport (2 min walking distance form station Ghadir), also 15 min walking distance to Sliema Ferry if you want to do cruise of the Three Harbours.
Breakfast was buffet style for a 4 star hotel I have excepted more. We had a room overlooking the sea, wish is to the north. It was clean and with tea and coffee making facilities. In walking distance there are plenty of restaurants. We walked to the ferry to Valleta 15 - 20 minutes but be aware it goes up and down. We stayed at the 3. floor and the wifi worked fine.
Just back from holiday in Malta, Stayed at the Diplomat and while the room and bed were adequate and the staff very friendly and efficient and breakfast most mornings was ok, We had a room on the seventh floor and had a balcony where you had to lean out of to see the ocean view there was no way you could sit out on the balcony but the biggest disappointment of all was the tiny tv that had no sports channel and only one English language channel,Also the wfi was very poor in the room and i had to go down to the lobby to get any wfi recption,
We stayed here for a birthday trip. This hotel is not really in Sliema. Sliema is a fairly long walk or a short bus trip. Our room is dark and gloomy, and the balcony is not usable. The bathroom is well laid out and has a good shower. The Internet is free but not dependable. Recharging electronics is difficult, as there are few outlets. Tv reception is a definite minus...only one English channel, tho the bars have better channels The breakfast does not compare with even the most modest guest house in Germany or most of Europe. The eggs are virtually inedible, and the quality of the meats is questionable. The baked, goods are good, but you must move quickly to have them. The room is very noisy and crowded. We have not eaten the dinner buffet, as there are a couple of nice seafront restaurants in walking distance. We would not stay here on our next trip to Malta.
Just got back from a month in Malta , again I stayed at the Diplomat hotel, this is my third time staying here, it is like home , nothing to much trouble, Andreana from reception even gave gave me me a Lift to the airport, Evelyn Is The pillar of the restaurant, she will do anything to be helpful nothing Is to much for her, The other staff are always very helpful nothing is to much for them, if you just treat them as you would like to be treated you will get on very well with them, they are all great people, Don't great them as servants they are very nice people.
Stayed here for a week. Perfectly adequate base for a first visit to Malta. Facilities a bit dated, but place certainly clean. Staff always friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet selection was plentiful but not at all imaginative.
arrived with 20 mins to closure of restaurant due to delayed flight. No problem getting a meal and not rushed by staff. Room overlooking sea, clean tidy with tea & coffee making facilities. Good clean bathroom with toiletries. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice to suit all tastes, always kept well stocked. Hotel is on bus routes to travel North or South
The room was dated and in need of a bit of tlc. The sheets did not fit the bed and the room was very noisy early in the morning, particularly from the refuse vehicle which collected refuse on a daily basis at about 6 - 6.30 am. The hot breakfast was not hot so we tended to stick to the cold buffet. We did not eat in the hotel at night. The hotel does have a bar but it was a fairly dismal place and we only used it once. For what we paid it was ok but we did book on a deal and we would not like to have paid full price.
From our welcoming drink to the smiley faces in housekeeping, reception and the restaurant everything was lovely. Located just a few steps from the promenade and main bus routes you could be in most of the major places of interest within minutes at a very affordable cost. The room was clean and spacious and all linen was spotless with towels changed each day. Lovely Evelyn and Anastasia who guided bemused diners around the many choices on display were a delight. When a birthday cake appeared complete with icing and candle on one night it made the meal special. We spent three and a half weeks at the Diplomat and thought that it was very good value for money
Hotel is located in a good location and very accessible to stores, shops, restaurants and public transportation. Also it is located along the seaside that you can walk around and have a great view of the ocean. The hotel itself was good but not as great as expected. My room is a good size standard room, good basic amenities that includes coffee maker, basic toiletries, small fridge and safe (not sure why there's no lock and needs to be cleaned since it is rusted). There's a small balcony but I suggest to request for a better view it else you will ended up having a balcony facing another hotel/wall on small street with some bag of trash outside. The bathroom was clean (floor, toilet and tub) but needed some new grout coz not sure if the ones stuck in between tiles are molds or dirt. The FD staff was ok but not as friendly as other hotels I've stayed at ( maybe I'm just used to a good customer service since I was once a FD manager and Housekeeping Executive😊). There's a fitness centre ( seems for a minimal fee as stated on the info card they provided). Also a rooftop pool( which I wasn't able to visit since it was raining). Nothing really a major issues but this hotel have potential and can be improve. 😊 but again, great seaside location.
