Stayed a week and think we did well for what we paid. Room fine but probably could have been bigger. Clean sheets, towels and maids came in and made sure it was all nice and clean and tidy. Beds comfy. Breakfast was included and there was a good selection and we always got a good meal to set us up for the day. The lay out of the hotel inside is a bit unusual but we got the hang of it eventually. Location is a winner. Right across from the beautiful, large beach, plenty of places to eat out and lot’s of small shops all around. The main city of Palma is minutes away in a taxi and to get from the airport only took 5-10 mins. Good value in a great location.
Stayed in an apartment for 5 days. Keep in mind that the apartments are not situated in the hotel, they are situated in a building nearby at 2 min walking. The view is not that nice there. The apartment is quite spacious and quite cheap for 4 people. I wouldn't recommend as they need improvement.
Upon arrival we were given one of the older rooms and went down to the reception and they changed our room to one of the newly refurbished room which was very nice. As for location couldn't have asked for a better location so close to the beach. Stayed here a week and the convenience of being close to everything in the resort was brilliant as my husband has a bad knee. Staff were pleasant and our room nice and clean. Have stayed in nicer hotels but for what we wanted for a quick beach holiday you can't knock this place, and definitely for the price we paid as we got breakfast included which was great. Only small thing was the lift went slow but that was it. Great week.
Arrival reception staff not very welcoming and didn't look as if they enjoyed their work a bit impatient when asked questions and when asked how to get to the downstairs pool couple of days later talked to like a child telling me to listen. When we arrived had to carry cases up five small flights of stairs to get to the lift, luckily a nice gentleman who was staying at the hotel carried my case up the stairs for me the receptionist was half way to the lift out of sight before we got up the stairs, couldn't wait to see if I needed help. Rooms very basic although ours was clean and the cleaning staff were very pleasant. the hotel was near all the shops and restaurants which was ok for evening. The buffet food was not hot but warm, breakfast was ok but evening meals were not so great., We had a few meals out of the hotel We booked very last minute s looking at the photos online which were very deceiving, but it was a much needed break, but will not return.
Nice hotel for a relaxed holiday and to enjoy the summer weather in Mallorca. Liked to go for a walk every night in El Arenal and look at shops and different restaurants. Location is super easy for beach and eating out. This hotel worked well for us as from airport to hotel door was around ten to 15minutes. Room was okay but not brand new. Had some sea view and was clean and good for a week. Asked the reception for one of the new rooms and they asked for extra euros so didn't do it. Staff all nice and not in your face. Only had breakfast included and that was good. We got to breakfast very early always and noticed lot's of people slept in late, so we always had a good choice and plenty of tables to sit at.
Check in was problematic, the 4 person lift was full at ground floor level every time we called it so had to drag our bags up the stairs! The linen was clean. Thereafter nothing was acceptable : the patio doors would not lock; the bathroom door looked like a beaver had chewed the bottom; bathroom glasses were shot glass size; waste bin in bathroom dirty; strange grid in the bathroom (that looked like an old-fashioned meat safe) and allowed us to hear the voices and bathroom activities from next door. If you want a decent night's sleep or have children I would not choose this hotel. The tv did not have a remote and kettles, fridges etc were all extra to be paid for. We didn't bother with the free breakfast as I had given up on this venue. They did order a taxi for us to get to the airport and this worked ok.
Stayed a week and had a brilliant time. It’s very close to the beach and we got some sea view from our room. The hotel and room was clean and simple but just right for what we wanted. Paid to have breakfast included and that was a good decision as we filled up for the day and they had pretty much everything we like to eat. The tea was a bit weak but I’ve had that same thing every time I’ve gone abroad. Staff all nice to us and said hola and smiled a lot. The resort if you don’t know it is well set up for tourists. Lot’s of bars and places to eat and small shops to get essentials. The beach is the best thing about the resort and we got lucky with the weather so made the most of the hotels great location near the beach. Great week away.
We're so happy we stayed in this hotel, we had to get into our room earlier than the confirmed time, and even had to stay later than the check out time and they gave us no complications, just helped us out without a fee, we were very thankful for that, it made travel all the more easier. Great location right by the beach, nice upstairs pool, friendly service, and the hotel is quiet and calm. Stay here, I recommend it.
Firstly, we encountered really welcoming and warm staff at Whala hotel, they were super attentive to us, whether we called the reception for extra towels, or placed drink orders by the pool, really nice. Our room was what they call an "Apartment" and it was maybe even more space than what we needed in reality, but we did want a kitchen, thats why we opted for that layout. We really enjoyed the playa de palma beach, and also Cala Blava, both directions given to us by the kind staff. Overall we agreed we had a great time, and its a great hotel.
Horrible place. 9 floors and only one lift, we was waiting for around 15/20 minutes for the lift at one point. The toilet in our room was dirty (poo stains behind it). The downstairs pool was filthy with flies all around the urine smelling toilets. Suitcase room was full and anyone had access to walk in and out, 10 euros deposit just for a remote for our TV. We slept on top of the bed sheets and put our own clothing on top of the pillows as the room was that dirty. The hallways stunk as did the lift. It is a nasty place that reminds me of a tower block on an estate in south London. I will never stay there again and I wouldn't advise anyone too, the pictures they show are a complete lie.
