We have been here previously , but we were disappointed this this with the greeting from reception and the time waiting to be seen, the reception staff seemed to be under pressure by how busy it was , the hotel appeared to be full which meant the pool area was overwhelmed. The room we had was not as good as previous visits and the shower was poor. Good breakfast and most of the other staff were courteous . Having said all that I would probably go back but not during peak times
Spent 3 nights at this hotel as we explored Palma. All public areas are immaculate and modern. Our room looked over the back bathroom was good room was a bit tired and dated but very clean. You could hear everything from next room especially when in the bathroom but as joining guests were pretty quiet this was not an issue. Check in was very slow some training is required to help speed up the process. Pool is very busy managed to get loungers but had to be there before 9am. Kept our room on final day for 60 Euro we also benefitted from the 10 Euro room credit per day as booked direct although did not use all of it. Hotel is in a great location for sightseeing and visiting surrounding area would definitely stay again.
I'll start with the arrival at palma airport first. It took 45 minutes to get through passport control. There were hundreds of people waiting to get through and only 2 officers on duty. We learnt later in the week that they will be addressing this problem but for anyone going out in the next few weeks be prepared. On the plus side our suitcases were there waiting for us when we did get through. We took a taxi to the hotel (€20), check in was fine but it did take 20 to 25 mins. We were asked if we'd like to upgrade to a room with a view which we did. The view is spectacular and the hotel is ideally situated for palma city. The room was clean and the maid came daily, however I would say it was quite basic as was the bathroom. The air con worked fine and was essential as it was 37c when we were there. There's a fridge with mini bar and a free safe. The bed was firm but comfortable. The balconies are all overlooking each other and it's difficult to sit out and relax as you have the constant noise of the very busy road (6 lanes) below. The pool area is nice and although there's not a massive amount of sun beds I always managed to get one. There's usually plenty available before 10 am, after that it's pot luck. There's a terrace there where people have their breakfast etc and a small snack bar. The gym in the hotel is small and has 1 bike (which didn't work), 1 tread, 1 cross trainer and a few weights. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful but the majority of time there was always a queue of people there which is off putting if you just want to ask a quick question. If you leave the hotel and turn right you can walk to the port. There are quite a few restaurants on route. We ate in several of them, an Italians and tapas and both were nice. Turn left out of the hotel and there are more bars and restaurants as you head into the city. As you approach the city if you go a few streets back there are dozens of tiny bars and restaurants. They all looked lovely and we noticed the further inland you went the cheaper it became. Palma is a very expensive city and you pay a premium if you are on a main route or anywhere with a view. On our first day we were charged €11 for a large beer so it's worthwhile to shop around. If you keep to the main road, walking past the cathedral til you come to the sea front, take a left and you will come to a very nice beach area. There are some very nice beach bars along this route. If you carry on you come to a small village called portixol. This seemed traditionally Spanish. It has a lovely small beach and bars/restaurants. It probably takes 1 1/2 hours to walk there from the hotel but it's well worth it. The cathedral is worth a visit. €7 gets you into the cathedral, cloisters and museum. There's lots of nice shops in the vicinity, traditional and modern but watch out for pickpockets. I felt a couple of slight tugs on my back and when I turned round there were 2 girls right behind me and my back pack had been unzipped. They ran off when I turned round so fortunately no harm done. We also did the red bus city tour (€19). I can't recommend this. The tour lasts approx 1 hour and 20 mins but you spend most of it sat in traffic and the commentary points out various bars, restaurants and clubs. You are given a little history of the island and there are a couple of points of interest e.g. Belver castle and the port but on the whole not good value. We were in Palma for a week and found there was not enough to keep us occupied so we took the bus to magalluf one day and to palma nova another. Both were surprisingly nice resorts. Lovely beaches, restaurants and for those that like mini golf each resort has a fantastic venue. We also did a boat trip of the harbour. Gives you a good view of the cruise ships that are in and the super yachts. The bus service is good and to the left of the hotel if you go up the steps and turn left there's a super market which obviously has a much better range of goods than the mini marts. There's also a Hard Rock Cafe close by and we found the service there to be very good and nice food. There's a massive cycle lane that runs for miles and bikes are easy to hire. Watch out for the cyclists tho. They do seem to be given priority over pedestrians and they travel at some speed. Also when using the pedestrian crossings even if the light is on green make sure the road is clear. There's always at least 1 car that goes through a red light. Overall Palma is worth a visit but I think a few days would be enough. The hotel is well placed but expensive for what it is. I would expect more from a 4*.
First thing, do not accept a room on 6th floor - these are not refurbished and very seedy. Our safe didn't work, air con was very hit and miss and the toilet wouldn't stop flushing at night. We complained and moved to 2nd refurbished floor. Don't be put off by some of the very grumpy reception staff! Our friends paid for a superior room which was magnificent by contrast with a great view, large bathroom and beautifully cool. Breakfast is good as everyone says. The pool isn't much to write home about. We got a €8 taxi to Anima beach, not to the fancy club itself but to the neighbouring public beach with showers, toilets and beds and umbrellas to hire.
We stayed at the tryp bellver for 7 days wanting a city/relax holiday. We arrived at 10.30pm & the hotel looked great all lit up by the marina & only a 15min taxi ride from the airport. Hotel check in was friendly & efficient. We were given rooms 610 & 611. On entry we were impressed at the size of both bedrooms & bathrooms however disappointed with the quality of the room. The carpets and furniture were very dated and the rooms seemed to be very dark. Also the aircon in one room had a loud rattle. My husband had read that some of the rooms had received a refurb and it was quite clear neither of ours had. I spoke with the girl on reception immediately who agreed straight away to move our rooms but couldn't be done until the following day which was completely fine by us.. she never quibbled & asked why & advised us to go & enjoy our day out & that on return our cases & rooms would be moved. On return this had been done & our rooms moved to the 14th floor. The rooms were so much lighter & had wood flooring which made a huge difference. Although some of the furniture was still dated the room was of much better quality. The breakfast was always fresh & good quality with loads of choice both hot & cold. We had 2 days around the pool & did not struggle either days to get a sunbed. Great addition to also have free towels to use. The pool area was basic but very well maintained which is all we wanted. The hotel is situated near everything. Plenty to see, plenty of bars, loads of restaurants and only 20mins walk to main Palma centre.. I would have scored this hotel a 5 had it not have been for the dated rooms however couldn't fault the staff(always friendly & helpful) location, & cleanliness .. would stop in this hotel again!!
We loved the breakfast in the hotel ! Location was great ! Wifi worked great. Very easy access from the airport. the room was noisy from the back street and was decorated with old furnitures. The bed was comfy. It took ages to check in ! about 40 mins. I have no idea why do they keep customers arriving at nearly at midnight from the airport, already very tired waiting.
This hotel is slap bang in the middle of the marina and very handy for walking to the Old Town etc. We were disappointed not to be able to get a sea view room, however turns out the sun disappears from the front of the hotel mid-afternoon (leaving the pool in shadow) and so our then-sunny balcony at the back of the hotel was perfect for drinks and relaxing before we went out. Staff very helpful when one of our party had a fall. Just be aware that the pool is shaded in the afternoon and plan accordingly.
We came to Palma for a long weekend. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the pool is a good size and also spotlessly clean. Great breakfast, friendly and efficient staff. It's just a 10 minute stroll into town. I was very impressed with Palma and the Trypp and will definitely be back
Great hotel! I appreciated the friendly, efficient, responsible and hard working staff that made the entire experience that much better. The overall experience at the hotel was satisfying and I would definitely recommend it for anyone planning to visit mallorca : )
First stay at the Bellver hotel - my wife and I had booked a room with a sea facing view and small balcony. Excellent view of the city and the marina/harbour complex. The rooms were large and airy and well presented Breakfast was buffet style with loads of choice and flexible hours 7.00 till 11.00 Evening meals are from a rather limited menu but the quality is good The pool area can get crowded at times but we were always able to find loungers and these are free of charge as are the towels. There is a large supermarket about a 5 minute walk away and lots of bars, café and restaurants in the surrounding area.
