Great week away in May - Quiet enough for families, but enough going on for clubbers! Our booking was 2 adults and 2 children. Breakfast was overpriced so went out for all meals each day. Great bedroom set up. 2 beds in bedroom and 2 double beds in front room. Amazing surfing experience, outdoor gym.
AN amazing Hotel with amazing staff, so friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful and cleaned everyday the air con was always on at no extra charge and really helped cool you down with the extremely hot weather, the Pool was another great place to cool down. Even though the hotel was very large there was never a fight for the sun beds I believe that the later pool opening times contributes to that however we never had a problem getting the beds that we wanted. overall we loved our stay at SOL WAVE HOUSE it was a great place and definitely will be back.
Right on the beach, OK rooms, a little fatigue. Good AC but clientele is mostly young and there to party. So noise as they came home late at night or early in the morning. Has parking for guests, if you rent a car it is nice. Lots of restaurants around. Was unable to try the wave pool but it looked fun - E 35 one hour. Good thing about clientele's habit is that the beach was almost empty in the morning.
We stayed there for 4 nights end of June early July , we enjoyed our stay very much the wave pool was lots of fun for my kids we tried the Katmandu park which was also lots of fun for my kids . The Suite we . stayed in was 448 overlooking the sea nice and big with a separate door to the children sleeping room the hotel is well designed very modern all was real fine the only disturbing thing is late at night the noise are very load we were helped by having cotton ear to sleep made available by the Hotel. I would recommend engineering department with the owners to find together a better isolation for rooms to avoid such inconvenience. However we really enjoyed a lot our holiday and we all had lots of fun staying at Sol Wave House.
This hotel is great for folks wanting to party all night as it's very close to the bars. Very close to the water sports activities on the beach. Very clean hotel with friendly staff. It looks like a great hotel for families because it has the surfing simulator but it's full of party animals who shout a lot till 7am. I would recommend other Melia hotels further down the beach.
Location of the hotel: The hotel is located in the middle of a party area - so be prepared for a lot of tacky party references, poor music and drunk people - and part nudity in the evenings. Sol Wave House hotel is quite noisy, due to more or less constantly playing music in the mornings and daytime, and screaming drunk people throughout the evenings and nights. It was not a big concern for us, but we would like to emphasize this for anyone who is sensitive to noise - look elsewhere for your stay. On the positive side, the hotel is located right on the beach, which means you don't have to walk far at all to reach the ocean. The hotel areas: The view you get from a sea view room is nice, the pool areas at the hotel are okey, with mostly helpful and pleasant staff, however, due to poorly put up information and signs and how the hotel is managed on different floors and layers, it's somewhat hard to tell what areas you are allowed into and not, how towel service works, etc. Some (read: many) features cost extra, but may be worth it depending on your budget. Renting a "balibed" for example is nice accompanied with the feature to order drinks via twitter, and the staff at the bar on the groundlevel is very accomodating and serviceminded. As a negative sidenote we'd like to point out that comfort at this hotel generally comes with a price, and we were also asked to prove that we were actual guests of the hotel while at the pool, despite the fact that we were using towels through their paid towel service (you accquire towel tickets for payment at the reception and the money is returned to you when you check out). Though understandable, it's not a very welcoming feeling. The beds in the room are comfortable if you enjoy a hard bed, and the cleanliness at the hotel is good. We had somewhat mixed feelings about the reception, despite them all being friendly and doing their best to be helpful, a couple of times we had a difficult time getting the help we needed. For example: getting confusing information about how to find the hotels dinner buffet restaurant (which is not located in the hotel - and "going out and to the left" is not enough information to get you there), and also when asking for help to book us a taxi to the airport - it turned out the taxi wasn't booked as we had asked and we were never given a booking number that we were supposed to by the receptionist. On the other hand, one woman at the reception in particular gave us excellent service, helped us sort out the taxi booking mentioned above, supplied us with a lot of helpful information for our trip to Palma and spoke great english. We are certain that had our only experience with the reception been with her, we would have been very pleased with the help we got at the reception. Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel is pretty good with a decent amount of tasty things to choose from and friendly and effective staff. There's a friendly cook preparing your eggs and pancakes for you, if you like that sort of thing, and the coffee is pretty good. You've got the thypical bread, cheeses and salamis you expect from a breakfast buffet, as well as some fruits and yoghurt, bacon and sausages and such. There's also A LOT of sweets, though it's not really breakfast items in our taste. If you'd rather eat breakfast elsewhere, there's literally a breakfast menu offered at every restaurant in the area. Keep in mind though, they all more or less amount to what they call a thypical british breakfast: eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and beans. Prices vary from about between 5-12 euros per person. Lunch and dinner: There are a lot of restaurants close to the hotel, but we would definitely recommend looking for both lunch and dinner at the restaurants located right by the beach. Within a 5 minute walk you've got several good restaurants to choose from where you get great service and good food and drinks for an affordable sum. Our dinners for two people thypically ended up around 40-60 euros, and that's with (alcoholic) drinks and tip included. The hotel offers a dinner buffet at the hotel across the street (which is a part of the same hotel chain) which didn't come at a very high price in our booking, however, sadly, our impression of the food there was that it didn't seem very tasty and we would not recommend it. There did seem to be a lot to choose from in the buffet though. Overall impression: As you can probably tell, our feelings about the hotel are mixed. We were very pleased with some parts, while others could use some improvement. This hotel is probably best suited for young adults who are looking for a place to party and enjoy the sun.
Ok so, the beaches are really amazing, but the hotel I never had such a bad experience, few examples: 1. They don't mention that it's not kids friendly, we came with our 2.5 years old kid, and was redicilisly laod, we berely slept during the night time as youngsters made parties all night long. 2. This hotel is the Ryanair of hotels meaning, we paid almost 800 euros for the weekend and it wasn't included nothing Breakfast- pay extra Parking- pay extra Tawels- pay extra The blue slide in the pool- pay extra Sun beds- pay extra (pool and beach) 3. Service- the crew service was redicilisly low, everything but everything that I we requested has been replaid" u need to pay for it" "we can't help u sorry" Bottom line if you are single this is the place for u, family do yourself a favor find d another hotel
Great service, fabulous amenities and location is perfect. The noise from the strip was fine although we had the misfortune to have very rowdy neighbours but hey it's magaluf and you kind of expect that.
Forget the negatives you read about this hotel.... Check in was good ... Staff were attentive .... Rooms were decent size but not massive ( junior suite sea view room 401) ... Breakfast was basic but fresh and all that you'd need.., The major plus to this hotel is location.... It's on a beautiful beach!! Central to all in Magaluf and walkable distance to all in Palma Nova....and with that we had NO noise issue at night ( def go for sea view ) The food on the beach front is very very good ., as is the food in Folies beach club beside edge hotel... The only negatives are the hotel is slightly overpriced but you def are paying for location and the pools are tight for the number of rooms!!! But let's not finish on a negative , overall I'd go back if staying in this area of Majorca again...
A friend and I (two Swiss Girls) inteded to go on a relaxed Holiday a bit fare away from the German Party place Balerman. We liked to have a Hotel near the beach and not to fare from a villate so we booked a room in this Hotel. As we arrived we realised we arrived at the number one Partydestination of the Brit`s. So at night sometimes it is a bit loud when you leave your windwo open but the Location of the Hotel is perfect. Located directly at the beach and not to fare from Restaurants alonge the beach. The Hotel pool has a beautiful view and you can see and hear the Partyboat coming in and out the Harbour every night. The only minus I would say is that you have to hire the good chairs along the pool. The rooms are big (we had a bedroom, a Little kitchen and a tv room). The rooms are all renovated and have there own surfer styled themes. The stuff is super friendly and helps with any question no matter what time it is...
