Fistful if you are booking this hotel you need to bear in mind that a lot of kids will be around and it won't be quiet like Magaluf as a place it's not quiet either so do your research before giving too low score as it is not fair. Hotel mainly to spend holiday with kids aged 3+ , older kids may get bored quickly. I have three year old and she loves it so much but I did read a lot of reviews before choosing this hotel . I came back a bit tired of kids noise but in the other hand my daughter was so occupied and happy there and I didn't have to come up with ideas for her not to get bored as you have a lot to do in the hotel itself . Beach is 5min away and we spend every morning over there as I don't like sitting by the pool . Beach is nice, not overcrowded as all party holidaymakers are fast asleep till lunch . Magaluf itself is really for young party people and I only chooses it to stay her because of Sol Katmandu hotel. Hotel rooms nice , I didn't find it noisy at all compared to others similar hotels . There is a lot of noise as it is Magaluf so don't complain about it as there is nothing you can do . With closed balcony doors we had proper sleep with no bother at all. Stayed in room 625 on 6th floor , close to lift and very bright . Standard room with space as you would expect , you are there to spend holidays not sitting in room . Clean and everything was working so no complains . I understand if you are trying to squeeze in family 2+2 it will be tight but this is your choice , you can always book bigger room . I was 2 + 3year old and it was Enough space for all of us. Food was good, breakfast excellent , lunch and dinner was great every second day but I was not left hungry at all and I'm myself picky eater . There is poor choice of food at pool bar if you are vegetarian , it will be nice to include some pizza there. We've arrived at 9am and was so happy that our room was ready , upgraded to all inclusive and check in was very fast , thanks to Mayan , explained everything really quickly . I rated is as excellent as it is excellent for kids , if you want quiet holiday you need to book somewhere else , but if you want your kids happy and occupied this place is great to go . Worth upgrading to AI , you can always it outside , but as it is Magaluf there restaurant choice is not as great as in Palma. We are coming back in September :) to stay 7 nights and then 4 nights in quite village to have some nice time for as parents and relax as well before going home. Worth booking on Melia.com site and split your holidays between different hotels and booking flight separate to get great deals . I'm always hiring a car as well as it is much more comfortable. I feel this was so far the best hotel for kids that I've ever been .
family holiday with our two kids 15 months and 3 year old, booked the hotel mainly couse of the water park, it was ok but not as big and fun as it looked on the website, but our boys still enjoyed it. The rest of the activities in the hotel were more suitable for much older kids, the upside down house a waste of time and a bit scary for my kids of their age. Soft play was great but they wouldnt let kids into the bigger area as its from 4 or 5 y onwards however under 5s area was way too small (dont forget your socks)! The three pools around the hotel were again much smaller than what it looked like on the website, full of inflatables and very busy every day. The hotel itself very dated and in desperate need of some more light and cheering up inside especially in the reception. food was an absolute disaster, no consideration for kids at all, no appropriate cutlery or plates. Food very greasy and tasteless. Drinks service slow and staff could not understand English most of the time. We were on half board and didn't think would need to pay for drinks, this was not mentioned so we ended up eating out for most of the time. Staff at the reception not very pleasant and seemed arrogant most of the time. Evening entertainment was ok but starting at 8.30 pm with disco and then show was too late kids way too tired by then. Beach 5 mins away a big plus and we found a nice restaurant across the street from the hotel where we would get food for kids. Cashpoint inside a bank 5 mins from a hotel and British nurses and doctors across the street too just in case. Apart from these points I would not say that it's anywhere near in a great location a hotel for kids as it's right next to the party streets of Magaluf which woke me up every night even though we stayed on 9th floor. Rooms super small and bathroom had a glass door so no privacy whatsoever. Housekeeping was ok but not the greatest. In general overrated and would not stay again.
An amazing place full of things to do throughout the day,my 8 year old grandson loved it. One criticism would be the constant noise going on until 6am from the surrounding streets. But a small nuisance really.
The hotel was fantastic for families, the 3 pools were great, lots of sunbeds available everyday. The food in the restaurant was very good plenty of choice for adults but not much choice for kids. The bar staff were very friendly and always happy to help. Great choice of drinks if your all inclusive, the only downside we had you could only get strongbow at the poolside & inside bar so if you were in the theme park or splash pool you had to have beer. Theme park was good, used it most days, the upside house was fantastic. We used the splash pool every days, there was a lot of school trips to the theme park/splash pool which made it busy/noisy we just went elsewhere instead. Only used the soft play once, we weren't in half hour then we were asked to leave because the roof was leaking in, we didn't have time to go back. The kids club was the best, my daughter went most days and loved it, they did lots of things with the kids, making things, dress up water races, all the kids were happy and enjoying themselves. Adu the kids club rep was great with the kids, made them feel welcome and was always joking on, even on a night he would recognized the kids and came over to talk to them. All the other kids club reps were very friendly and loved playing with the kids, they worked so hard to make the children happy. The entertainment on the night was very poor, kids disco didn't start till 8.30 and it was the same songs/dances every night, kids got bored. Didn't think much of the after entertainment, the only night we enjoyed was when the reps did a show which was fun/great. Would probably go back to the hotel but might eat out more on a night.
Usually book adult only hotel in Pama Nova, as this hotel was full we booked the katmandu. This Is definately a family hotel, we were half board but you can book all inclusive. Rooms a bit small and only a wardrobe for storage. bathroom was a decent size with shower and toiletries provided along with hair dryer. Lighting was not adequate and air con not strong enought as it was 39 degrees. Safe was only 5 euros for thevweek which was returned to you on departure so ths was a bonus. Food was good and there was plenty choice Plenty of attractions for children to keep them busy all day with 3 pools and not far from magaluf and palma niva beaches. Downside it was noisy with children having the run of the place and allowed to choose there own food without parental guidance, as i say great for families but if you like a relaxing couples holiday then this is not for you. Love palma nova and if you like to people watch in magaluf then try the Tartan Arms no loud music or silly behaviour just adults chatting getting to no each other and like i say people watching, all sports on tv,s and music on which still allows people to chat. Plenty of bars and shops witin walking distance
Just returned from HB 4 night stay with my husband and twins (age 12) Rooms very clean & modern (great shower) but we had no balcony with our room which was difficult ,as there was nowhere to hang towels and swimsuits to dry etc Food edible and as you would expect for an AI also hotel, something for everyone, I am not fussy so i was ok but husband struggled a bit if im honest Fab facilities for young kids (all evening entertainment for kids also) but as mine nearly 13 was a tad too young for them so we went into palma nova instead (5 mins taxi) Pools nice but couldnt get a sunbed as people with small kids had them all really early, no matter, we went to the beach every day which is lovely and just down the road - pool towels available at hotel but we were asked for 160 euro deposit?? which was strange so i bought 4 instead! Noisy bar opposite us, hubby didnt get much sleep 2 nights but take earplugs like i did just in case!! Overall, good stay, would recommend for families with small children, but think i would choose a slightly smaller hotel if I was going for more than 4 days, I hope this review helps!
booking in quick and easy arrived late 11.00pm their supplied an cold buffy which was ok and a surprise we had three rooms 2 double 1 family room all ok fridge tv in room breakfast was ok fry up if you wanted hot microwave if required dinner was good plenty to chose from 3/4 different meats clean inside hotel outside pools were clean as well plenty for kids to do daytime the park closes at 6.00 we did not upgrade the park passes as height restriction on upgraded rides very busy and noisy hotel at meal times and evening entertainment close to beach and the strip in all a good time was had by everyone in our group children as swell as adults will b e back 2018
We stayed in this hotel june 2017. Overall we had a good holiday. Here are our positive & negarives. Positives - The hotel was very clean and friendly especially towards our children. It has loads of facilities for the kids onsite. It was central to magaluf and palma nova so good location. We did some of the katmandu park except mini golf which was extra. The kids characters that were floating about were good fun. Negatives- Each night we were woken from nightclubbers chanting and singing : that was without BCM being open across from the hotel. The hotel could use some triple glazing. Food selection was limited especially for children. They seemed to recycle a few of the same meals. The family room was quite cramped especially when adding your suitcases into the room. The pool area is quite cramped and the childrens pool is not really suitable for very small children as its deeper and big kids are jumping in. At the bar there are often big queues for drinks during the day and especially inside at night. There is limited seating inside for the night time entertainment for the size of the hotel. We witnessed peopeople trying to reserve seats with towels at the front which we complained about. The entertainment for the kids was the same each night mini disco style and a bit too late at 8.30pm. The adult entertainment was average. Overall though it was a good holiday so don't let these negative comments put you off going. If we go back to the area we will probably stay in palma nova as its quieter but still lots to do.
Just got back from staying at sol katmandu with my family. Had an amazing holiday. That good we are already thinking of booking up for nxt year. My 5 year old and 2 year old had an amazing time. The kids club was excellent that catered for both my kids ages. The staff wrk so hard and wrk long hrs, they were great with the kids, especially Edu who was my sons favourite and really made his holiday. The food was ok, my kids didn't really eat much but they r fussy eaters. The hotel is immaculate, poolside scrubbed 1st thing and poolside toilets checked regular. Water park and upside down house was brilliant my kids loved it. The only negative comment I would make to this hotel is the rooms are tiny but after reading reviews b4 going our holiday I knew what to expect. We just got on with it and just made sure we kept our room tidy to move around.
so i never left a review before but thought i would give a true feel of the hotel sol Katmandu. so arriving at the resort there was 12 of us 4 Rooms 7 adults 5 kids aged 2, 3, 3, 14,and 17 i was gobsmacked at how fantastic it looked we was seen to straight away for book in but took about 30mins to book us in we requested low ground floors but they did not accommodate this and put 3 rooms on floor 6 and 1 room on floor 9 with few people having reduce mobility and petrified of lifts they was quite rude and say nothing can be done so we just left it although two of the lives kept braking down and then was out of order for rest of holiday. and waiting on the other two lifts
