From the moment you walk into the centrally located, seafront Hotel, you feel welcome. The little touch of welcoming you with a glass of chilled orange or bubbly and warm face towels, makes the long journey travel worthwhile. The staff are polite and courteous and the rooms clean and modern. The breakfast (we did not eat in the evening) was varied fresh and tasty, much cooked by a chef as you waited. We stayed 3 nights, and had a busy schedule, so ate out each day, but we will return and make sure we eat in the Hotel. I cannot praise the whole experience enough, we have stayed in this resort several times in recent years, and this Hotel stands tall above all others we have been to. The Hotel is predominately geared towards German guests, who make up probably 95% of the occupation, but they have high expectations just like us, so we cant both be wrong.
I find it very strange that I did not get a questionnaire from Thomas Cook and also the Hotel. Thomas Cook. We went to the welcome meeting as advertised in the literature given to us at the airport. There was no English rep only a German one, he rang the office and told us that the English one was on his way. We waited another 20 minutes, nobody came.. We never saw an English rep during our staying the Hotel. We looked for information re: our return trip. The only information in the book was dated the 20/5 .I signed up for an alert via a TC app., none arrived. In the end I phoned up the help line and a girl reluctantly rang Palma to get the information, and rang me back. The trip out and back went well except for the 40 minute delay coming back. We were also disappointed there was no kids club in the Hotel at half term. Customer Service is extremely poor it is just as well most things worked well, and I had the ability to find a solution, others would not. The Hotel Castell del Mar. I find it so unusual that this hotel never asked me to complete a questionnaire covering my stay. I have stayed in quite a lot of hotels and usually you are bombarded with surveys/questionnaires. May be it is that they are totally focused on their German clients. On the whole we had a good time in the hotel, the staff were very good except the blonde girl on reception (I could not see her name as her badge was crooked). She seemed unable to understand our English, it was just as well my son-in-law could speak German, and we managed. The food was good, and the hotel was spotless, however we felt as though we were second class clients. The position of the Hotel is extremely good. We liked the indoor pool and the spar, and we never had any trouble getting a sunbed, although we saw that some people had more than one each. My family were with me and we had 3 rooms all were kept very well, and on the whole the hotel was very good, I think it would have to be otherwise they would not have so many German clients 28 May 1 Week ,
Just returned from a one week stay in this hotel could not fault it we had a room on 3rd floor 308 slightly restricted view of pool but brilliant sea view 50 yards from calla millor beach great. walk out of back door of hotel you are on main shopping.area with bars cafes and eateries food was good lots of varied choice .in hotel spa pool good loads of sun beds spot on. mainly German guests but not a problem all in all a very nice hotel.
stayed here for the first week of our recent holiday good location near to the shops and right on the promenade. we paid extra for a sea view and was well worth it. Plenty of choice at meal times. you are allocated a table for the duration of your stay. ours was on the outside terrace which is lovely but smoking is allowed and the table next to us lit up after every course.next morning someone already sat there but informed breakfast on the terrace is for anyone so we used a table inside. we did notice we got some looks from nearby tables. on the third day we were told off by the waitress that the inside tables belong to someone else for the whole duration and she found us one in a gloomy corner. we chose this hotel partly for the spa but that was a letdown. firstly they dont provide towels and the steam room wasnt on i asked the lady on the desk to be told you have to go to reception and request it be turned on . I had to get dressed again to do this. next day there was no one at the spa desk and had to rescue a man who was locked in the pool area after the door became stuck. this time neither sauna or steam were on so i asked at main reception and was told it would be. turned on .10 mins later again went to reception to be told there was a problem and it needed a technician. at this point we gave up and didnt bother again. Be aware that at weekends teenagers gather on the grassed area outside the hotel to practice tightrope walking but play music so loudly you cant hear your tv. when i rang reception at 7 pm to complain was told they are allowed to make this noise till midnight. luckily it only seems to be at weekends. we did a nice walk across the beach to the castle A 20 minute walk into cala bona takes you to a lovely harbour and the thalassery bar right on the edge of the water. We also did the market at son severa .Be aware hotel caters for mainly germans in fact we didnt speak to any other english the whole week. we spent a few nights at the nearby protur hotel where the entertainment and atmosphere was very good in fact should we return to this resort this is where i would stay
Top notch hotel. Right on the beach, also on the main shopping road. Quality hotel with lovely food, excellent staff, good entertainment we really enjoyed our stay. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived and they even recognised my wife from her stay 10 years earlier
I have been to this hotel on two ocassions with my parents, on both occaisoins the guests were mainly 50 plus. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds and umberellas, in two weeks we never had difficulty getting a sunbed once. The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly but it became very irritating after a while that they assumed that everyone in the hotel was German. The pool and resturant staff would all communicate to you in German and announcements from the animation team were only ever in German. On one particular night there was a wine tasting but the large pull up banner showing the details about the various wines was only in German. This would not prevent me from going to this hotel again but I feel that i is somethng that the hotel managment could improve on to ensure that all of thire guests are made to feel equally welcome. The food was abundant and although leaning towards continental tastes there was always something to suit most palates. This hotel is spotessly clean as is the whole of the resort. Cala Millor is a lovely family friendly resort with a beautiful beach. You do have to pay for sunbeds and umberellas on the beach, which from memory runs into the region of €14 per day for one umberella and two sunbeds.
This was a great introduction to half board accommodation for us. very helpful staff, great amenities and plenty of variety of food with a different theme every night, certainly never felt hungry. Room was very good (junior suite) and the hotel looked more expensive than it was.
We are checking out of this hotel tomorrow, we have had a lovely stay, the food is great plenty of choices, consistently good. Rooms are lovely, perhaps a little old fashioned, but comfortable beds and the whole hotel is very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. We felt spoilt at this hotel, our beds turned down each night with a chocolate on our pillow, a welcome drink on arrival. Couldn't believe the beautiful spa pool and gym all free, this hotel doesn't keep asking you to pay for services, such a treat. It is geared mainly to the German guests but we don't mind this. I would highly recommend this hotel, can't fault it. Our stay is January and mainly an older age group.
We stayed at this hotel from Boxing Day over the New Year. Fabulous winter break. Excellent location, weather was lovely, sunshine every day. Greeted with a welcome drink, much appreciated after the journey. We booked a sea view junior suite, worth the extra, lovely view and very spacious room. The beds were very comfortable, with a chocolate placed every night. Breakfast was brilliant and evening buffet very good. The hotel made a big effort at New Year's Eve. All the tables were beautifully decorated, we got a present of a mug with chocolates and were offered free drinks with the meal. I think we were the only English couple there, but everyone was very friendly and we made friends with a lovely German couple. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. If you choose this great hotel and location, don't miss a walk through the nature reserve next door. It is delightful. We went on a 5 mile round trip to Sa Coma and back stopping in the restaurant by the castle. Thanks Castell de Mar for making our stay special over the New Year.
We went to celebrate my 40th birthday to this hotel. It is in a great location and has some fantastic amenities for a family. The staff are friendly and approachable. We were given a junior suite which was a good size and perfect for a family of four, however, these rooms were located over the bar so it was very noisy at night with music. The room was clean but very disappointed that no English channels were available they were all scrambled and had no signal. Food was ok, there was a good spread at breakfast however dinner was disappointing and expensive for a limited selection. Having young children, it was also disappointing that the only food available from the bar for the majority of the day was pizza, except at lunchtime. Every night, we had to go at 5.00 to other establishments to get food for our 3 year old girls. We would go again to this hotel.
