Excellent team they are both profissional and best guest receivers I ever had for Spanish people. Fabulous quality buffet both in breakfast and dinner. Most of the days there was piano player for dinners. Clean 5 stars, nice decoration, flexibility for special requests with no extra charging. Intelligent spaces for outside being near street with a waterfall that makes you wander that there isn't no street near.
To be honest, in real life hotel looks better , very clean and welcoming place , we arrived night time , but staff took as to restaurant for some food , all staff very nice and friendly and ready to help, manager Pablo come and ask if everything ok and if we need something they always ready to help , food was ok , pool not the biggest but very clean, rooms have very good showers , only one negative point, rooms a bit small , would recommend this place, definitely value for money xx
Been there for 2 nights my stay was okay. the hotel offers 2 pools in the middle of arenal and the rooms are clean and well established. unfortunately it is quite noisy. i can not make any complaints about music or loudly people but if you do need quiet surrounding to have a good sleep you might struggle. Breakfast was quite well for such standards with a good variety of food and drinks. As I was looking for a hotel within arenal not far from beach and still in the middle of everything the hotel offered me what i was looking for. Even so i did not use it you are in walking distance to the Water park as well and you do have plenty of supermarkets, little food stores, etc. literally next door. the stuff was multi-lingual and very friendly as well as very welcoming. i would go again if i would have same premises.
Decent sized room for the amount we paid. The drinks were great!!! San Miguel on tap as well as the top selfers being on point! The pool was small we we never really used it. All in all a decent hotel for the price and the bar was great. The Entertainment was fun too with a live band.
Amazing 5 min walk to the beach, and 1 min to the bus station, many shops around; I was impressed : 1) Hotel (room, pool, restaurant)was very clean and modern 2) Staff very helpful and polite 3) Food very tasty When we arrived we was welcome with a nice smile by Ana at reception and the director Pablo was offered 2 glasses of champagne and on top, the room was ready before 2! The room was very big and clean with a and a shower as well, in the living we have a nice sofa , a tv , a refrigerator; from the living room we could go to relax for a cold drink on the balcony. The bedroom was having a , a dressing table and a very big mirror wardrobe, inside we find as well a safe box .we have clean towels every day and a hairdryer. We have dinner and breakfast included ,and what I can say is that the was very good ( thank you for the omelet ) On the day of checkout we was able to live our luggage at reception . Thank you again for the lovely holiday we definitely enjoyed Diana
We had 4 nights at the hotel. If you are looking for a quiet hotel with a nice view at the sea - this is not it. There is a new hotel/wing of this one constructed next door and this means less privacy in the future. We had no issues with the construction works but that can change. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Sadly the double rooms actually have twin beds. We had a chance to upgrade to junior suite and it was much more spacious with a bigger bathroom. At the time t was not what we needed but it is a good idea to ask for one if you want to have more space and a bit more comfort. We had half board option and it was amazing. The food was really good for a package deal and we could taste some amazing main meals and desserts. There was a bit for every taste. The personnel was on a great level. They helped us book a trip to another part of the island, booked us a taxi to the airport, helped us with advice. The biggest downside of this hotel is its location. It is close to a popular with tourists road. There is some noise until about 11 pm at least, which comes from passing groups. Transport is convenient - bus stop is situated about 50 meters away from the hotel and it is definitely a big plus. Overall our stay was comfortable and pleasant.
We travelled here for a late season holiday on the 12th October. This was our first trip away without our son, so was somewhat unusual to be just a couple again! We really enjoyed the hotel and would certainly stay here again. The standard rooms are a little small, but wasn't really an issue for us. The only things which tended to let it down was the food, breakfast was fine, but lunch and evening meals weren't great. We found ourselves eating out most evenings as the menu wasn't to our tastes (lots of fish, yuck!). Bar service was ok when you could find the barman. Pool is small ( and very cold in October) and the sunbathing potential was limited because of a huge tree which blocked the sun. The overall location of the hotel was ok, but you have to walk a little down a fairly steep road to get to the shops and bars along the promenade. Other than that, a very pleasant stay in a nice boutique style hotel. Jamie and Sarah
I wouldn't go to this hotel again. We had no issues with the staff/beds/cleanliness or food however it feels like this hotel has been airlifted into an appropriate area of space. It is totally hemmed in. The hotel next door is in very close proximity to the rooms and there would be no privacy had it been open. The fact that it was closed caused enormous noise problems from the builders from Monday to Friday with no chance of a sleep in. There were a couple of occasions when falling debris made its' way to the pool area. I appreciate that it was the penultimate week of the season so why there isn't a agreement the hotel groups that building work should be delayed until the season is over? Due to the built up area both pools are shaded for a lot of the day particularly at this time of the year so perhaps they could have been heated. We upgraded to all inclusive however the entertainment and leisure facilities are minimal - there is no inducement to stay in the hotel during the evening so if you want to be entertained you have to go out and pay again. The area is not particularly nice and not one that is conducive to an evening stroll - the beach is beautiful but the hotel is at the top of quite a steep hill which seemed to be very popular with dog walkers!!!
We booked our holiday for one week , when we arrived we were told we had to stay at torre azul hotel for two nights as there was a problem with the water , a bit disappointed at first,, we then went back to Mediterranean bay hotel on Monday & found Jamie on receptionist was very arrogant & rude which put a downer on our holiday,, we tried our best to enjoy the rest of our stay,,, the cleaners were very friendly also the waiters, waitresses & bar staff too,, a very clean well kept hotel the food was amazing so much to choose from but would never go back
Having just today returned from this hotel , i felt the urgent need to warn other people !!! Unless you like a hotel on a busy road (junction) & now constant building works October 2016 onwards, a hotel with paper thin walls and a resort that is so run down it makes it feel like a third world country ! The only saving grace was we only booked a week !!! Right from booking in at reception DAY 1- we were hit with the hard sell and the offer to upgrade our room, after we viewed both rooms neither were suitable and we asked to move away from the actual noise (and building view) the lady promised us this third room would be quieter, but actual it just meant we had the noise on the left instead of right in front of our balcony . Then she tried the upgrade to full board which we did not want, from then on the holiday went down hill. Sadly on arrival we were brought back down to earth with how‘’run down’’ El Arenal itself, so we were looking forward to at least have a lovely hotel and quiet relaxing stay,BUT sadly right outside the street is very loud traffic & not helped with next doors building NOISE galore ,it was so dreadful ! We are glad to be home to get some rest tonight !!! It was apparent as our weeks holiday unfolded that during this part of the season everywhere has full blown building works going on, even as close as the hotel next door which we were later informed is due to fuse with this one. Would have been nice to nice to know and nice to discount these dates with corresponding works !The tiny pool side area is even less attractive with all the drilling and gutting going on, beds furniture and rubble are constantly being emptied into a massive skip !!! The loud bangs and machinery works are from 6.30am !!! Just what you want on holiday. The hotel ‘Mediterranean Bay’’ we were utterly amazed it had four stars, it seems to run on virtual skeleton staff, the first thing to hit us after booking in was smell as we approached the lift area, it was a mix of stale sick and booze. Absolutely no sign of it, so we could only guess maybe the water from the mop and bucket could do with a change ??? This has so many issues as a hotel and as a resort....do your homework on this resort and hotel.
